Chapter 38 - Chapter 38: Susan: I'm Not Doing This Anymore!

Viettel Express Company.

Outside, the heavy rain poured down.

Inside, Jessica Jones and Claw Woman were fiercely fighting back and forth.

"Ding!"

"Battle detected, reward dropped: 5 points"

"Ding!"

"Battle detected, reward dropped: Ulna Bone Spur (Claw Woman)"

Listening to the system prompts, Samuel, feeling bored, went upstairs to the storage room and took out the Time Controller and the electronic collar.

He was going to a new World to see if he could find someone to fix this thing.

Regarding the new World, he had two choices.

[Flash] and [Fantastic Four].

Cisco Ramon, 'Shockwave' in [Flash], is a tech whiz.

'Flash' Barry Allen and 'Reverse-Flash' Eobard Thawne are even experts in time. The timeline is practically crying in the bathroom from their meddling.

And in [Fantastic Four], there's 'Mister Fantastic' Reed Richards, Marvel's smartest person, the cranial madman.

Although the movie version of Reed Richards isn't a wolf, fixing the Time Controller shouldn't be a problem.

Choose one of two.

Samuel chose the beauty, ahem—he chose [Fantastic Four]!

...

New York, Columbia University.

On campus, Samuel, having retracted his super hearing, walked across the emerald green lawn towards a man and woman sitting under a tree nearby.

The woman had long golden hair and an exquisitely beautiful face that made her look like a Disney Barbie doll, only missing a princess dress.

The man had a strong physique and a bald head.

Susan Storm and Benjamin Jacob Grimm.

One is Reed Richards' girlfriend, the future Invisible Woman, one of the Fantastic Four.

One is Reed Richards' good friend, the future Thing, one of the Fantastic Four.

Unlike the last time he traveled to The Boys World, this time he traveled a bit early; the future Fantastic Four haven't graduated from college yet.

"Hi."

Samuel greeted them as he approached.

Benjamin's face was grim, his eyes somewhat displeased.

His annoyance was easy to guess; after all, Susan was too beautiful, and he definitely didn't want to see his good friend's potential girlfriend being hit on.

Yes, potential girlfriend.

Reed and Susan haven't officially confirmed their relationship yet.

Susan, however, politely nodded in response: "Hi, is there something I can help you with?"

"Guess which side my heart is on?"

The wild opening line made Susan pause: "Left side?"

Samuel shook his head and said with a smile: "Wrong, it's on your side!"

"Hehe—" Susan couldn't help but let out a burst of silvery laughter.

"If you don't want to give my heart back to me, then tell me your name."

Susan, holding back her laughter, said: "I don't have anywhere to put your heart, but—hello, my name is Susan."

"I have a poem I want to give you, only three lines."

"Oh? I'm looking forward to it."

After the 'heart attack' just now, Susan was genuinely curious about what kind of poem this bold and humorous boy would recite to her, especially since it was only three lines.

"Your name."

"Is what I've heard."

"The shortest love poem!"

That really is three lines!

Susan's laughter rang out again, more hearty than before, the kind that is happy and a little unrestrained.

"Hey—"

Seeing his brother's potential girlfriend being flirted with so happily by a stranger, Benjamin, who was worrying about them, finally couldn't help but shout at Samuel.

Samuel looked at Susan, pretending not to know: "Is he your boyfriend?"

"He's my friend, Benjamin," Susan introduced with a smile.

"I don't like you, you'd better leave immediately," Benjamin said directly.

Susan apologized: "Sorry, we're waiting for another friend."

"Her boyfriend," Benjamin seized the opportunity to try and let Samuel know she was already taken.

Susan looked at Benjamin with some displeasure. Regardless of whether Reed would become her boyfriend, it wasn't his reason to forcibly interfere with her feelings and freedom.

"We're not together yet," she explained, not for Samuel, but for herself.

Benjamin had no right to decide her romantic affiliations for her!

Benjamin's actions were counterproductive.

Samuel chuckled magnanimously: "Even the Sun can't make everyone like it. You say it's warm, I say it's blinding."

Benjamin's face was a little grim.

"There are many people who don't like me, who do you think you are!"

Directness against directness, in this round, let's see who's more direct!

Benjamin stood up abruptly and glared at Samuel, his muscular frame looking like he could pounce and start a fight at any moment.

"Bastard, do you want a beating?"

Samuel said indifferently: "If I've hit a sore spot, you must say so. That way, I can focus my fire on it later."

"You're dead, I'm going to beat you to a pulp today!" Benjamin was completely enraged and was about to strike with his fists.

"Enough! I'm leaving!" Susan stood up with a stern face, preparing to leave.

"Wait, where are you going? Didn't we make plans with Reed?" Benjamin said hurriedly.

"The agreed time was half an hour ago."

"He's coming, believe me, he'll be here soon," Benjamin explained for his friend. "I'll call him right away."

"A mouth that says 'I love you', countless details that say 'I don't'," Samuel added with interest, twisting the knife.

This sentence went straight to Susan's heart.

There's no denying Reed is a genius, and they got along well when they were together, but his focus on experiments and research far exceeded his focus on her, which is also the reason she had been hesitant about whether to give it a try with him.

Now, there's no need to hesitate.

Reed likes experiments, likes research, then let him like it.

Benjamin likes to worry about his brother's relationship, then let someone else worry about it.

This old lady isn't serving anymore!
