Smallville, Kansas.
A small farm just over ten minutes away from the Kent couple's home had just changed owners a few hours ago.
In just a few hours, the original farm owner's family happily packed their belongings and moved out. The house they originally lived in was even completely renovated, almost unrecognizable from its original appearance.
The exterior of the house didn't change much, but the layout, decoration, furniture, and so on inside underwent drastic changes.
Especially the furniture, whether it was sofas, dining tables, wardrobes, or beds, they were all replaced with expensive high-end brands.
Let's put it this way, the cost of furniture alone was enough to buy two more farms of the same size.
The lives of rich people are just this simple and unpretentious!
When Samuel arrived, Barbara and Veronica had already taken off their heavy coats and were sitting on the sofa in light clothing, quietly resting and staring at each other.
Other things could be left to the workers, but some personal items had to be arranged by themselves.
Especially since these things were newly bought and had to be unpacked after delivery, which took even more time and physical effort.
Barbara was fine, but Veronica was indeed exhausted.
Samuel's appearance made the two of them instantly sit up straight. Before he could speak, Veronica started talking about the farm.
Buying this farm cost two hundred thousand U.S. dollars. Rearranging and adding new daily necessities, especially the items added for Samuel, totaled nearly six hundred thousand U.S. dollars.
In total, around eight hundred thousand U.S. dollars.
"Time was too tight. If you gave me three months, no, two months, I could build you the most top-notch farm in this town!"
Veronica explained with some regret.
Samuel raised an eyebrow: "For me?"
Veronica nodded: "I bought this farm in your name."
"You really are a clever little ghost."
Samuel smiled softly. Veronica's ability to start from scratch in such a native family and become a female billionaire with at least hundreds of millions in assets now was indeed due to this cleverness.
Leaving aside other things, how long could she observe a Kryptonian? One day? One month? One year? Even if she was willing to spend more time observing, Samuel wouldn't agree.
So this farm was basically just for show, especially since Samuel knew the Kent couple. The value of this farm for Veronica observing the Kryptonian was even lower.
But when Samuel asked her to buy the farm, she didn't ask a single extra question. Not only did she buy it, but she also bought it in Samuel's name and spent a lot of money to redecorate!
The amount of money didn't matter. Samuel wasn't short of these eight hundred thousand, and neither was Veronica, but the way she handled this matter made people feel comfortable.
"You two go change your clothes, I'll look around, and then I'll take you to the Kent's for dinner."
"Okay."
Veronica and Barbara got up and went upstairs. Samuel walked around inside and outside the house.
The interior layout goes without saying, and the outdoor environment was also very good, especially the air and the night view, which were much better than in Washington, D.C. Samuel felt that he could live here for a while in the future, which would be perfect for changing Clark Kent's personality.
If people don't offend me, I won't offend people, that's fine!
If people offend me, give way three points?
That's a bit much!
Samuel was also planning to let him be the leader of the Superman Corps. If he was as saintly as in the original story, the entire Superman Corps would probably go off track. So, while he didn't expect him to become as dark as Homelander, at the very least, he shouldn't be wronged and bullied himself.
Uh, being bullied by me doesn't count!
Half an hour later, Samuel brought Veronica and Barbara to the Kent couple's house to pay a visit.
Veronica specifically prepared a few bottles of red wine that weren't expensive but tasted very good, and also gave Clark Kent a set of LEGO toys.
The Kent couple and little Clark welcomed their arrival very much, especially the Kent couple. Having someone know that they adopted an alien and having no evil intentions was also a relief and comfort to their minds.
The Kent couple's love for Clark Kent was unquestionable, but there was definitely some worry.
If someone understood Clark Kent's background, and something really happened in the future, whether it was a good thing or a bad thing, there would be someone to help them come up with ideas.
The only thing the Kent couple couldn't adapt to was that Samuel's female companion had changed again this time!
Last time there were three, this time there were two. If Clark Kent got too close to him, wouldn't he pick up some bad habits or ideas?
In the dining room, everyone raised their glasses and exchanged toasts. Barbara talked about interesting things at the museum, Veronica talked about things at the pharmaceutical company, and then they chatted with Samuel about Clark Kent together. The atmosphere was one of joy for both hosts and guests.
This meal lasted for more than two hours before Samuel took Barbara and Veronica to say goodbye and leave.
Before leaving, he didn't forget to tap Clark Kent on the head and casually brushed out a Super Healing ability, which is Self-healing ability.
Back at the farm.
Samuel smiled and asked Veronica: "How do you feel?"
Veronica pondered: "He looks no different from an ordinary human child, very cute and very sensible, but I need to observe him further. I need a week!"
"Okay."
"I've arranged everything for the company. I'll be staying here for a while."
Barbara interrupted: "I'm not staying here with you. I'm going back to the office to look up information."
Helping Veronica meet Samuel and helping her move was already enough. She had seen the Kryptonian and it was just that. For Barbara, besides Samuel, nothing was more important than finding Asteria.
Barbara got up decisively and directly asked Samuel to send her back to the museum office.
"Do you need me to stay with you?" Samuel asked Veronica.
Veronica smiled and shook her head: "I'm used to living alone. This is nothing to me."
"Alright, then I'll come back tomorrow."
Samuel smiled and nodded, then with a whoosh, teleported back to his home in Washington, D.C..
The warm-toned living room ambient lights were on, and Diana, wearing a nightdress, leaned on the sofa, staring blankly at the golden eagle armor on the coffee table.
Samuel sat down beside her, smiled, and patted her legs which she had straightened out, teasing, "What are you thinking about?"
"The golden eagle armor, where did you find it?"
... PS: This picture is Veronica, because there is no live-action version of this character, I used the actress who was planned to play the role in a Wonder Woman TV series that was not renewed.
Elizabeth Hurley, has appeared in: Austin Powers, Young Americans, Runaways Season 3, Gossip Girl Season 5, etc.
