Chapter 9 - "Supreme Authority: The God-Tier Body."

-----

-----

Name: Moka Akashiya.

Rank: Purple.

Title: True Ancestor Vampire.

Reward: The Third Magic.

"The Third Magic…"

Staring at the reward lighting up on Moka Akashiya's entry, Max's eyes sharpened. Surprise flickered through his heart.

A power from the Nasuverse.

The Third Magic—"The Materialization of the Soul"—represents "The Future That Can Be Inherited." It's the path to true immortality.

It allows the user to solidify their soul into matter.

Once the soul becomes material, it essentially functions like a perpetual motion engine, generating endless magical energy.

And magic is life-force.

Infinite magic means infinite life.

Immortal, inexhaustible, unshackled.

The soul ascends into a "higher-dimensional lifeform," becoming a godlike existence beyond the limits of flesh.

As long as the soul isn't destroyed…

Even if the body is reduced to dust, it can be reconstructed.

One can even reshape their body into any form they want—basically a more advanced version of the "72 Transformations."

Rumor has it, mastery of the Third Magic even lets you materialize other people's souls too.

With abilities like that, its strength is obvious.

Sure, the "immortality" part overlaps with the Silver King's Authority, but the rest doesn't.

For example—unlimited energy.

Even with all seven King Authorities fused, his internal aura, though vast, still has limits. Once spent, it needs time to recover.

But with infinite energy? That problem vanishes.

No wonder this reward sits at the Purple tier. The Third Magic was a pleasant surprise.

Where exactly does it rank among Purple-tier rewards? Probably at least mid-tier.

With those thoughts in mind, Max returned home.

Twenty minutes later, in his bedroom.

He shut the doors and windows, drew the curtains, then sat cross-legged on the floor. A holy domain shimmered around him as he closed his eyes to receive the Third Magic.

Crack—!

It sounded like thunder exploded in his ears, jolting his mind.

Then a strange, eternal power stirred within the depths of his soul, awakening.

It spread rapidly—

From nothing to something, from one to countless.

From an outside perspective, Max could see his soul.

Almost completely transparent, identical in appearance to his body… except naked.

Golden light blossomed at its heart. Thick golden veins branched out, like mystical blood vessels, spreading throughout his entire being.

They looked similar to magic circuits—except on a much higher level.

As those golden pathways filled him, the once illusory soul condensed, growing solid before his eyes.

Purple-gold radiance haloed around him.

Holy. Eternal. Untouchable.

Sacred power swirled, like the descent of a god.

The instant his soul fully materialized, the force spilled outward, rushing into his flesh.

And Max knew—

He could now shape his body however he wished.

Dozens of thoughts flooded his mind, but he quickly decided.

He'd use this power to forge his flesh into the perfect match for his "immortal soul."

A body on par with divinity.

As soon as he made that choice, the Damocles Sword of the Golden King Authority blazed to life, releasing its power.

Its attribute: Destiny.

The ability to bring out the absolute peak of someone's potential.

Once it flared, the other six Authorities answered in unison, surging forth.

"What the—?!"

Max blinked in shock… then grinned with excitement.

Before his eyes, the powers of the Seven Authorities intertwined with the Third Magic.

The materialized soul evolved again.

A purple-gold halo spun behind him.

At the same time, his cells transformed—his body ascended.

His bones turned crystalline, glowing with a jade-like luster.

Muscle fibers gleamed with golden light, surging with overwhelming divine strength.

His heart thundered, pumping out purple-gold particles that slowly transformed his blood.

And it didn't stop there.

He could sense it clearly—the fusion of the Seven Authorities, once steady but slow, was accelerating at a crazy rate.

What should've taken half a month… might now take less than three days. And the pace was still speeding up.

Max hadn't expected the Third Magic to change so much at once. The shock quickly turned into giddy anticipation.

He couldn't wait for the transformation to finish.

In the bedroom, his body continued reshaping, light flickering across his skin in shifting colors.

No disturbances, no side effects.

Time slipped by like wind through an open window.

Finally, the metamorphosis ended.

Seated cross-legged, Max slowly opened his eyes.

"…I'm ridiculously strong now."

The words left his lips in awe.

His soul had ascended into a higher-dimensional being.

His flesh matched it, reforged into a divine vessel.

The Seven Authorities had fused completely, creating something greater.

Soul and body—transcendent. God-tier.

The immortality of the Third Magic combined with the permanence of the Silver Authority. A new, even greater kind of indestructibility.

In this world as he knew it, Max couldn't think of anyone capable of killing him.

Not even star-busting monsters.

And beyond survival—his combat power had skyrocketed. Hundreds, maybe thousands of times stronger.

Before this, at best, he could flatten a town.

Now? He could erase a nation.

He wielded the power to destroy an entire country in short order.

Of course, he wasn't totally sure yet—it was only an estimate, based on how drastically his strength had shifted.

He lifted his right hand, fingers spread.

Seven miniature Damocles Swords appeared above his palm, rotating slowly.

Any being with sharp senses would feel the terrifying might condensed inside them.

Once unleashed, they could obliterate everything.

Max studied them, then smirked.

"Let's call this… the Supreme Authority."

The title fit—it was the Authority above all others.

Not that names mattered. As long as it was strong enough.

He closed his hand, dissolving the swords.

Stretching lazily as he stood, he muttered,

"Too bad the Encyclopedia isn't a proper system. I can't just check my stats whenever I want to see the changes."

"…Huh?"

A prompt from the Encyclopedia suddenly appeared.

He summoned it with a thought, flipping to the first page.

Information shimmered into view—

Name: Max.

Rank: A+ (Nation-Buster).

Abilities: Supreme Authority, Third Magic.

Items: Sacred Mechdragon Bahamut.

"My stats?!"

Max blinked, startled.

As expected of his cheat—it always delivered.

Could it… actually be intelligent?

He tried reaching out mentally, but got nothing.

So this "status panel" must just be a hidden feature of the Encyclopedia itself.

Which, honestly, made perfect sense. It was an encyclopedia, after all.
