Chapter 9 - 535. In the Past, I Would Have Twisted His Head off Long Ago

Lu Sheng finally understood why level 12 involved channeling rule galaxies into the body to strengthen one's martial body. Because this step was a necessary preparation for level 13. Without a sufficiently powerful physical body, one might not even have time to use the laws to fight before collapsing under their own power.

It's like an unparalleled sharp blade. Without sufficient power to control it, one is the one who gets hurt first. However, for Sheng...

"With my current physical strength, plus the Golden Glazed Body, it's enough to withstand the backlash of the Law Power..."

Thinking about gaining another powerful trump card, his mood improved considerably. He opened his eyes; it was still that simple little room. He glanced at the time and realized that seven cosmic days had passed since he boarded the ship. No one had come to visit him during that time, nor had anyone brought him food.

He remembered that the person who checked his identity when he boarded the ship hadn't mentioned anything about not being able to leave the room freely. So he opened the door and went outside, thinking of finding some fresh air.

Under his mental power, the entire spaceship, except for a few important areas, was almost completely visible. He walked along the corridor. This spaceship didn't even have the most basic exterior view simulation windows. He couldn't see anything outside; it was practically a giant, enclosed iron box.

Extending his divine power, he could "see" that the spaceship was currently undergoing a space jump. Outside, distorted and elongated lines of space stretched out everywhere; he had no idea where he was. It's impressive that such a dilapidated spaceship even has a warp function.

After standing somewhere for a while without encountering anyone, Lu Sheng felt a bit bored and decided to go back. At that moment, his expression suddenly changed as he detected a figure walking quickly towards him. It was a fair-skinned, tall, and handsome young man wearing a light blue high-grade combat suit.

He had something resembling a cigarette dangling from his mouth, puffing as he walked towards Sheng. He seemed somewhat bored as well; his eyes clearly lit up when he saw Sheng, who immediately felt a spiritual force gently descend upon him, seemingly probing his strength. After confirming that his strength was only level eleven, the young man's eyes shone even brighter.

"Hey!"

The handsome young man greeted him from afar. Sheng's eyes flickered, but he remained silent. The man, however, approached him with a broad smile, tossing him something resembling a cigarette as he went. Sheng glanced at it; the cigarette traced a graceful arc in the air before spinning back.

"Thank you, but no need."

His combat suit had a simultaneous translator, so Sheng wasn't worried about the other man not understanding him. The man caught the cigarette he'd tossed out, slightly taken aback, seemingly not expecting to be refused. But his expression quickly returned to normal, unconcerned, still grinning.

"Finally, I've run into a living person! I thought everyone on this spaceship was dead."

The handsome young man spoke to himself, his face full of complaint and sarcasm, acting as if he were already familiar with Sheng, not caring whether Sheng was listening or not, just wanting to say what he wanted to say.

"Heh..."

Sheng didn't know how to respond.

"My name is Saya, from the Polo star region. What about you, brother?"

All men are brothers in the universe, right?

Out of politeness, he replied, "Lu Sheng, from the Yamu star region."

"Yamu star region?"

The handsome young man looked puzzled, muttering to himself, "Which star region is that? I've never heard of it... But it doesn't matter."

The handsome young man waved his hand, smiling at Sheng, "Which room do you stay in? I'll come find you to play cards later."

"You won't find me."

Sheng tossed out a sentence, walked past the young man, and headed straight for the back.

"Hey, hey."

The handsome young man called out twice, but Sheng didn't slow down; in the blink of an eye, he disappeared from sight.

"Sigh."

He sighed softly, seemingly still somewhat unsatisfied, as if he had just found a living person to talk to.

"We're all level 11, what's with the arrogance..."

He shook his head, muttered a few times, and continued strolling in the opposite direction from where Sheng had left.

For the next few days, Sheng focused solely on cultivation. Occasionally, he would go out for some fresh air, and along the way, he would run into the handsome young man named Saya several more times.

Sheng even suspected that this guy was always wandering around outside and never stayed in his room, otherwise how could he keep bumping into him? Fortunately, he was very careful and never let Saya know the location of his room, otherwise, given that guy's personality, he might actually bring a few decks of cards to play cards with him.

Time passed day by day. Just as Sheng was wondering if they had been forgotten on this spaceship, forgotten in the starry sky…

"Boom!"

A loud bang startled him from his cultivation. The floor and ceiling of the room shook violently, large sections of the already old walls peeled off in the tremors, and the floor even cracked.

Sheng got up from the bed, quickly extending his spiritual power. He discovered that the spaceship was currently embedded in a huge meteorite, sparks flying everywhere, seemingly completely destroyed.

"What happened? The spaceship crashed?" Sheng frowned slightly, confused about what was going on. But judging from the current situation, he couldn't stay in the room any longer and had to leave as soon as possible.

There wasn't much to pack. He opened the door and left. As soon as he opened the door, he saw a figure flash past him. Then a second, a third. The usually lifeless spaceship cabin suddenly became lively. Figures began rushing towards the spaceship's exit.

Several rooms around him were all open, empty, apparently, they had already slipped away. The orange-haired youth in the room next to his opened his door at that moment and rushed out. When the youth saw Sheng blocking his way, a hint of impatience appeared on his arrogant face, and he hissed, "Get out of the way! Don't block my way!"

A cold glint flashed in Sheng's eyes, but after thinking for a moment, he slightly stepped aside, making room for him. The orange-haired youth gave a soft snort, glanced at Sheng and strode away. His departing gaze seemed to say "You're smart enough to know what's good for you."

Sheng watched the orange-haired youth's retreating figure and muttered to himself, "Immortal cultivation techniques are indeed powerful in terms of self-improvement. If it were me before, I probably would have twisted his head off by now. And now I can even feel not very angry... Looks like my level has improved again."

Lu Sheng was quite satisfied with this. He didn't linger for long, staying in place for a short while before slowly following the crowd towards the spaceship's exit.

Now that the spaceship had crashed, the guides who had been silent for over a cosmic month should finally show up, right?

A martial art

武術 or 武术, wǔ shù: 武 martial/military, 術/术 art/discipline/skill/method

The martial body, aka the martial physique or the martial form

The martial body is the strengthened body of a martial artist

武軀, wǔ qū: 武 military, 軀 human body

A rule galaxy

规则银河 (trad. 規則銀河), guīzé yínhé: 规则 rule 银河 Milky Way

A rule galaxy is the physical manifestation of a rule. It is a bright ribbon of light located somewhere around a martial artist, looking like a miniature galaxy. One can have several galaxies around them. When one levels up, the goal is to absorb them and get ready for laws: "level 12 involves channeling rule galaxies into the body to strengthen one's martial body (...)"

Saya

撒亞, sā yà: drop second

I'll go with a phonetic translation: Saya.

-

The Boluo aka Polo star region or Polar star region, maybe Baltic star region

Saya's and Sarl's star region

波羅星區, bō luó xīng qū

-

I've never heard of it

Saya, from Polo star region, says that he has never heard of Yamu star region where Lu Sheng comes from. This seems to confirm that there are a lot of star regions in the Hundred Great Star Regions district, maybe a hundred, maybe more.

the person who checked his identity

To be accurate, the author said "the cold, stern man who checked his identity". In other words, the 2.5 meter tall person (8 feet tall) who checked Lu Sheng identity in chapter #532 was one of the two guide, it was the "cold, stern, middle-aged" guide. In the Manhua, an unknown character checks Lu Sheng's identity and then we never see him again, I thought it was weird. Well, maybe that's how they dealt with the gender change: that guide is a man in the original novel who was turned into a woman in the manhua and in my version of the novel, see my notes in chapter 533. Well, anyway, it doesn't really matter I guess, I'll leave the unknown 2.5 meter tall person in chapter #532 and move on. Or I could change that person into the woman. Done.
