Chapter 5 - Vigilante Side Story: After U.A #2

Following day:

The scene pans to an Abandoned Factory, its rusted pipes dripping with sludge-colored water. Vermin scurry across crates filled with half-finished weapons. The stench of oil and blood lingers.

Deku interrogates an arms dealer with broken ribs. The man wheezes, trembling under D4C's looming presence. The Stand's golden glow paints the shadows monstrous.

"Where is the sludge… villain?" Deku demands, voice lowered to be imitating with a sharp tone.

The dealer coughs blood, stammering. "I-I don't know! The underworld said he was… sold to someone higher up the chain. That's all!"

Deku's hands tighten. He seems to always be one step behind.

CRACK! Another rib snaps under D4C's crushing pressure. The dealer screams, then collapses unconscious, eyes rolled back.

Deku's face remains emotionless. He turns away. No answers. No trail. Just lies.

Clamp. Clamp. Clamp.

His footsteps echo out the factory as storm clouds rumble overhead.

The Underworld Responds

Word spreads. The vigilante known as Kaizen (Abyss Step) is tearing through the black market, looking for the sludge villain. The gangs fear him, the arms dealers curse him, and the low-level villains give him a name whispered in alleys: "The Standless Executioner."

However, Kaizen's rampage doesn't go unchallenged. For every action, there is always an always an opposite and equal reaction according to Newtons Third Law. This notion applies to Quirk Society.

At a warehouse near Hosu, Deku is ambushed by three mercenaries, hired by the syndicate Black Root Union, tasked with eliminating him before he reaches the truth.

Bzzzz. Bzzzz. Bzzzz.

Quirk: Carbonize (Villain Name: Smokestack)– Can exhale black smog that hardens into blades, suffocates lungs, and burns skin like acid.

A rong rong rong time ago. Generations ago, in his family, the Carbonize lineage was seen as a blessing to the whole world. Their legacy shall be forgotten in the history books of things humans overcame with quirks. They were known as guardians of the environment, as they absorbed greenhouse gases and burned away industrial smog. This largely mitigated the spread of global warming. Through experiments and blood samples(illegally, technology based off their quirk and body was made to remove global warming. However, due to the Doomsday Theory, the quirk became stronger, and out of control. By the time Smokestack was born, the quirk has twisted into a destructive form.

Instead of cleansing the air, Smokestack pollutes it.

Instead of saving the cities, he chokes them.

Quirk: Rewind Wire (Villain Name: Marioness). He can extend hair-thin wires that loop through time in five-second intervals, pulling enemies back into repeated motions.

Quirk: Hive-Blood (Villain Name: Moscar). His body is infested with parasitic wasp-like insects that erupt from his blood, controlled like living weapons.

The steel doors slam shut.

Bang

Lights flicker back and forth until it turns pitch black.

Smokestack fills the room with tar-thick fog, while Marioness's wires him, dragging Deku two steps back every time he tries to advance. Moscar grins, cutting his own robotic arm and unleashing a swarm of wasps that fill the air like razors.

Deku stands calm, D4C emerging with its golden glow.

"Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap—DORARARARA!!" His Stand fists slice the air, ripping apart wires and swatting away insects. Sparks fly, bugs splatter, the warehouse trembles with echoes of battle cries.

But the dark triad start to synchronize and coordinate.

"The rhythm in their attacks are perfect. I can see their dimensional wavelengths matching. what is this feeling. They are in perfect sync," thought Deku surprised by their chemistry, wondering if it's artificial or genuine.

Smokestack eyes transformed into stars, promptly returning to it's natural hazel color. He stared at his partners eyes, as they all nodded in agreement.

"Marioness! Loop his punches. Moscar. I want you to swarm dive him when I signal you to," communicated Smokestack, their leader.

Marioness loops Deku's punches back on himself which he simply warps from using D4C. At this instance, Smokestack's fog claws at his lungs, and signals Moscar to go. Moscar swarm drives into every blind spot. For a moment, Deku is drowning in their synergy.

Then his eyes flash. He's got a plan. Spamming the same move over again.

"Dimensional Hopping: Stone Amenotejikara!" A crate of rusted gears swaps places with Deku. The mercenaries strike the crate instead, their attacks colliding with each other. Blood sprays, screams echo reaching the public.

The factory brimmed with many lights, as all that's left is the bottom of the crate. Other parts were completely annihilated.

"Are those fireworks," muttered a child to his Mother.

"What was that?" questioned a random civilian as spectators ran away from the sound of the noise, quickly heading home.

Deku reappears behind them, fists clenched. Butt cheeks clenched. From the depths of his heart, he screams ~Dojaan~. He doesn't hesitate.

DORARARARARARARA!!

Bones crack. Crack. Moscar's skull is shattered like a coconut. crack. Crack. Metal wires snap. Snap. Insects scatter, crushed into the floor. In one coordinated flurry, D4C dismantles all three.

Smokestack lies choking on his own fog, ribs shattered. Marioness's wires cut into her own body, trapping her like a cocoon. Moscar bleeds out, his own parasites devouring his brain in confusion.

Deku doesn't look back. He steps over them, his face expressionless. These were Deku's first direct kills. Many have been warped to different dimensions, or dimensionally exiled. While others eventually died to their injuries.

But instead of answers, he finds a ledger—a shipment log marked "Project Vortex."

The sludge villain wasn't just sold to a ragtag group of villains. He was transferred into the hands of a new buyer: Kurōgiri.

The trail now leads to the League of Villains whom he had been keeping an eye of. However, he'd cautious to attack them. He doesn't know how they cause a mess someone, and instantly vanish.

Deku sits on a building far away from that area. "Sure, it could be a simple portal or teleportation quirk. What if it's clones? A trap. Deku couldn't take brash risks at this point in his career."

And Deku realizes something that chills him more than anything. He starts having visions of a parallel world 99% identical to his. "The sludge villain wasn't just sold. He evolved," uttered Deku as he plans their eventual bout.

Clamp. Clamp. Clamp. His footsteps fade into the storm.

The vigilante war has only just begun.
