Chapter 5 - The Wolf System

The last thing Ellis remembered was a blinding light swallowing her whole. Then

"AAAAAAA!"

She screamed as she felt herself falling again.

Aphrodite's calm voice echoed faintly in the distance.

"I'm going to give you a system."

Ellis blinked mid-fall. "System? What system?!"

"Yes," Aphrodite's voice replied, growing faint. "I know you have a lot of questions, but I have no time for that now. The system will explain everything… Take care, my child."

"Wait-what do you mean take care, Aphrodite?! Don't you dare!"

But before she could finish, she felt an invisible force shove her downward.

"AAAAAAA! Why does everyone like to push me?!" she yelled, flailing through the air.

Then.....thud.

"Ouch…" she groaned, rubbing her head. "Can't a girl just wake up normally for once?"

Before she could even get up, a voice spoke from the shadows.

"Oh, hi there."

Ellis froze. Slowly, she turned her head. In front of her stood a massive wolf, its fur silver as moonlight, its eyes gleaming like blue fire.

"A-aaaaa…" Ellis screamed internally, though she forced her face to stay calm.

The creature tilted its head. "You're not… screaming?"

Ellis's eyes narrowed slightly, her tone cold. "Who are you?"

The wolf blinked. Cold? Huh. That's new.

"I am your system," it said simply.

"System?" Ellis repeated.

"Yes," the wolf said, tail flicking proudly. "The Goddess of Love sent me to assist you."

"Ohhh…" Ellis nodded slowly. "But… why do you look like a wolf?"

"Because I am a wolf system," it replied, as if that explained everything.

Ellis stared for a moment, then smiled softly. "You're… actually kinda cute. Can I touch you?"

The wolf stiffened, its ears twitching as a faint blush spread across its muzzle.

"S-sure…"

Isn't she supposed to be scared of me like everyone else? the wolf thought. What kind of human is this?

Ellis reached out and gently patted its fur. "Wow… soft!" she said, smiling for the first time since her death.

The wolf her system cleared its throat quickly, trying to regain composure.

"Right. Ahem. Now, let's talk about your missions."

Ellis straightened, serious again. "Okay. I'm all ears."

The wolf chuckled softly. "Good. First of all, we're in a special dimension. From now on, you'll receive missions, each mission will test different parts of your heart and mind."

"Different parts?" Ellis asked curiously.

"Yes," the system explained. "Every mission will come with things like love rate, possessive rate, and other emotional statistics. You'll learn the details as we go."

Ellis tilted her head. "Wait, love rate? Possessive rate? What are you talking about?"

The wolf grinned mischievously. "You'll have to make the male lead fall for you."

Ellis's eyes widened. "What the hell!?"

"Yes," the wolf said matter-of-factly.

"But-but-but- "

"No buts," the wolf interrupted smoothly.

Ellis sighed dramatically. "I'm doomed. The one who's never been in love, hates boys, and barely trusts people is now supposed to make men fall for her? Fantastic."

The wolf snorted softly, amused. "Very well, my lady," it said playfully. "Don't worry. I'll accompany you in every mission."

Ellis raised an eyebrow. "In wolf form?"

"No," the system said proudly. "When we're inside a mission world, I can transform into human form."

Ellis blinked, a small spark of excitement flickering in her eyes. "Wait-really? That's… actually kind of cool."

The wolf smiled faintly. "Glad you think so."
