But here I was, pacing like a madman while Kaein stood there, arms crossed, pretending he wasn't affected.

I swallowed hard. "You don't get to do that," I said quietly. "You don't get to kiss me and then act like it meant nothing."
He didn't pull away, but his voice came out low and strained. "I don't even know you. I'm not supposed to, you're really pissing me off"

I let go of him, taking a step back. "You think saying that makes it cool?"

I gave a hollow laugh. "You know what's funny? You think you're the only one confused. I'm here being dramatic over a demon slayer who's accused me of being a demon severally pushed me away multiple times yet saved me at the expense of his own life."
That made him look up.
I had a plan, Letting the demons capture me, getting close to him, it was supposed to be perfect. He were supposed to be obsessed with me by now. I thought all this to myself hoping he actually falls.
Kaein's eyes darkened.
He didn't rise to the bait. He just said quietly, "Go to sleep if you're tired Ren, or let's just go home."
I stared at him, half expecting him to say something else. But he turned back to the window, like I wasn't even there anymore.
