Chapter 10 - Chapter 10: Autumn Transfers to the Advanced Science Class

The more he graded, the more astonished he became.

Almost every answer was correct.

Only the last big question had an issue with the unit conversion—decimal points were off. She must have been in too much of a hurry.

The physics teacher's disdain slowly turned into disbelief, then edged into an almost fanatical excitement!

Of course, he knew Autumn James couldn't have cheated. After all, this exam hadn't been leaked in any way!

The students' results weren't even released yet; only the teachers knew the exact scores.

Moreover, a near-perfect score like this could not have been obtained by copying.

The physics teacher handed the paper to the next teacher, keeping his emotions in check as he calmly asked:

"You did this yourself?"

Autumn James straightened up, her expression obedient and calm.

"Yes."

"Don't be nervous. I just want to ask, why did you choose liberal arts back then? Your physics is this good—I believe your other science subjects aren't bad either."

Autumn pressed her lips together and replied politely: "I was young and naive at the time, and I listened to my family."

The physics teacher, White Miller, nodded understandingly. "Alright, from now on under my supervision, you'd better keep up the hard work. Even if you're doing well now, if you don't learn properly later, I won't go easy on you!"

White Miller is the homeroom teacher of Science A Class for 11th grade and one of Yun City's top physics teachers, responsible only for 11A and 12A classes.

Students under his guidance rarely have poor physics grades.

Autumn James understood his implication. Her eyes lit up slightly—she knew she was very likely to get into the A class, and she hadn't expected it to be so smooth!

She took a deep breath to steady herself.

A small smile curved her lips. "Thank you, Teacher. I will."

White Miller saw her calm, composed demeanor and secretly nodded.

At seventeen or eighteen, it was hard to hold back emotions, yet she managed it effortlessly.

The other two teachers had finished grading as well.

Both scores were in the eighties.

The total score for biology was only ninety, which was already excellent.

Although the semester had only started a month ago, the pace of A class was faster than normal classes. Many questions were already from second-year topics.

For someone who hadn't studied this material yet to achieve these results—landing in A class—Autumn James clearly had extraordinary talent!

Both teachers nodded repeatedly.

It's rare to see such a well-rounded prodigy. Even their own class representatives usually have weaker subjects.

If this girl were trained properly, she could become a star student of the school!

They wondered what her family had been thinking. Letting her choose liberal arts back then? They had wasted such talent for a month!

As they thought this, the teachers even felt a bit resentful toward Ethan James, though they had never met him.

White Miller was about to comment when a clear, sweet voice came from nearby.

"Teacher White, I've collected today's homework and put it on your desk."

The girl finished speaking and started to leave.

White Miller glanced down at Autumn's paper, nodded casually, then suddenly remembered something.

"Hey, Summer, come over here!"

"What's up, Teacher?" Summer Lin walked over, and when she saw Autumn James, she immediately exclaimed in delight: "Hey! It's you?! Autumn James?!"

White Miller looked up from the papers at the two of them.

"Oh? You two know each other?"

"Of course!" Autumn James hadn't even spoken when Summer shouted out.

Summer Lin was White Miller's class representative and also the monitor of Science A Class.

White Miller smiled. "Great. Since you know each other, you'll be classmates now. You can look out for each other."

Summer's almond-shaped eyes widened, her cute doll-like face full of delight. She must be dreaming—just a few days ago, she wished to be classmates with a beautiful girl, and now it's happening?

"Hello, Summer," Autumn James smiled lightly.

Summer couldn't hide her grin. "Hello~"

White Miller, of course, knew his class rep's personality.

He didn't interfere, waiting until they finished talking before saying: "Summer, come look at this paper."

Summer only wanted to stay close to Autumn, so she wasn't too interested in the exam.

She glanced casually, intending to humor White Miller, but was unexpectedly drawn in.

She couldn't make a sound as she absorbed it.

Without realizing it, she had taken the paper from White Miller's hands.

Instinctively, she exclaimed, "Oh my gosh, Teacher! Who is this genius? How does she know all these answers? This is incredible! You have to introduce me to her!"

White Miller chuckled. "The genius is right in front of you."

"This is Autumn James' paper. You can take it back to your class and study it carefully. I graded it myself—almost every answer is correct. You can use it as a reference."

"Also, since you're here, please take Autumn James to the classroom so she can get familiar with the environment. Afterwards, she'll attend class with you. I remember Vlad Bundy has an empty seat nearby—let her sit there for now."

Summer's face fell, her cute doll-like expression suddenly turning sour.

"Huh? Vlad?"

"Take her there first. I'll adjust the seating later."

"All right." Summer replied reluctantly.

But within moments, she was excited again.

"Autumn, I'll take you to your class!" Summer picked up the exam and linked arms with Autumn James to leave.

Autumn was still thinking about who Vlad Bundy was.

The sudden warmth of Summer's touch made her pause.

No one had ever been this affectionate toward her.

In the past, she'd been surrounded by seniors and juniors, with very few real friends.

Occasionally, she'd walk past two girls holding hands and feel a twinge of envy.

But she'd quickly rationalize it: the seniors were already good to her; she shouldn't wish for more.

Looking back, perhaps her mind had been a little out of shape at the time.

Summer Lin was a well-known figure in the grade, occupying top three in science every term, and used as a benchmark in multiple classes.

Combined with Autumn James' reputation, known throughout the grade, it was enough to make anyone take notice.

So when Summer led Autumn James through the school, everyone was stunned.

The 11th grade Liberal Arts A Class erupted into a frenzy of discussion.

"Have you heard?! Autumn James is transferring to Science A Class!!"

"No way! Where did you hear that? A liberal arts student transferring to a top science class?"

"I'm not lying! It was the Science Class monitor, Summer Lin, personally bringing Autumn James over. She really seems to value Autumn James."

"Really? The Science Class teacher is White Miller, right? Can he let Autumn James in that easily?"

"Not sure…"

Anna Hawthorne, sitting at her desk scrolling her phone, subconsciously gripped it tighter upon hearing this.

She couldn't believe Autumn James was actually transferring to the Science class—let alone Science A Class…

In high school, a girl in a science class is far more prestigious than in liberal arts.

Could it be that she transferred to get Ethan James and the others' attention?

No matter what, she's leaving, and now only Anna and Liam Carter remain in the liberal arts class…

Thinking about Liam Carter's difficult-to-please nature, Anna's chest tightened with annoyance.

Not only is he hard to handle, his favorability is hard to raise. Now with Autumn gone, all the efforts she made for Liam fall on her, and he might not even be grateful.

The more she thought, the angrier she got, her expression twisting uncontrollably.

"Anna, Anna."

A familiar voice came from outside the window.
