Hearing her words, Michael paused for a moment, before he responded, "My mother passed away a few years ago."
Michael's words left Marion completely shocked. She had not expected this at all. And, as she looked at Michael, she could see the sadness that flashed through his eyes.
At that moment, despite feeling sad herself, she felt quite guilty. Should she have known that Cynthia had already passed away, she would not have mentioned this, only bringing up the past wounds.
Still, she took a deep breath, trying to calm her emotions down. At the same time, she felt puzzled, just what had happened that her aunt had passed away?
Even though she had not spent that much time with Cynthia, still, when she was young, she could remember that Cynthia used to dote on her.
