Chapter 3 - Life Simulator System

Lucas and Mathew blamed themselves for having powerful talents yet not even one of them could save or avenge Thomas.

Gabriel knew how powerful their talents were, as it was too suited for the Dormitory Survival Game.

Lucas could be assigned to leave the dorm to acquire resources from resource areas outside the dormitory building. On the other hand, any defense-related structures and repairs could be left to Mathew.

However, while all three of their talents were high-grade, none of them were suited for combat.

Since Lucas and Mathew had already revealed their talent information, Gabriel didn't let them down and revealed his as well.

When they saw the talent information of Gabriel's Talent Trade (Gold), Lucas and Mathew had mixed feelings.

On one hand, they couldn't help but praise Gabriel for living up to expectations and being as great as ever, awakening a gold-grade talent.

Even the highest revealed talent in the dormitory chat group was only purple-grade, and Damien's talent was merely Fire Force (Purple), which was even lower in grade than Lucas's Wanderer Of The Void (Orange).

On the other hand, Gabriel's talent wasn't the combat-type talent they needed, so their Dormitory 69 didn't have any combatants.

If Damien was ruthless enough and wanted to wipe them out, even Mathew wasn't confident that he could continue repairing the dormitory door and prevent Damien from breaking it.

Knowing their worries, Gabriel asked, "Can you tell me what happened while I was asleep? As well as our conflict with Damien and his lackeys."

Regarding Gabriel's inquiry, Lucas replied and narrated what happened.

"Half an hour ago, the Dormitory Building was covered in crimson fog, which lasted for several seconds. Who knew that when it disappeared, the entire Dormitory Building, and even the surrounding facilities of the school campus, were transmigrated into another world."

"The Dormitory Survival Game then descended and informed us what happened, and allowed us students to awaken a talent."

"We had already tried contacting the outside world, but all phones and devices lost connection. Although the teacher's building, the school gym, the school cafeteria, and other facilities transmigrated alongside the Dormitory Building, only we students were brought into the game."

"Even the teachers who were present in the teacher's building disappeared, and their life and death are uncertain, but most students believe that they and the rest of the school staff weren't given the identities of players, so they couldn't participate in the Dormitory Survival Game."

After explaining what happened before, Lucas's expression turned solemn as he mentioned what happened afterwards, "Just 15 minutes after the transmigration, panic ensued."

"The darkness within the hearts of those students was no longer restrained by law, which degraded their morality as some had coerced and extorted resources like food and water from those who had them."

"In worst cases, some of the male students driven by lust even wanted to rape those school beauties by using their newly awakened talents. The major one among them was Damien and his lackeys, who wanted to plunder resources, play with women, and become the overlord of the dormitory."

"Thomas was one of the students who refused Damien since he didn't want us, fellow students, to commit a crime against each other. However, it was a mistake as at that time, Damien wanted to establish his prestige, so he used Thomas and killed him to make an example and prove his power."

Clenching his fist tightly, Lucas barely reigned in his anger as he continued narrating, "It was only under the joint efforts of the female student's leader, who also awakened a combat-type purple-grade talent, as well as other male students who didn't want to break the status quo, that Damien could only rule over the first floor."

"It was also thanks to them that Mathew and I were given the opportunity to escape from Damien's clutches, or else we would have been injured there."

Aside from that, Mathew also added that it was due to Lucas's talent that they escaped since Lucas carried him to the third floor by running from the wall from the first floor to the third floor.

Moreover, Damien and his lackeys' stray attacks couldn't harm them, as Lucas could ignore damage from this world by hiding in the void, and he could even bring Mathew with him, given that they were in contact with each other.

In the end, Gabriel could only console them as he truly couldn't do anything impulsive, as none of them possessed any combat capabilities. Fighting Damien at this stage was just seeking death.

Since they couldn't take their revenge yet, Gabriel shifted his attention to the upcoming Dormitory Survival Game and asked, "Have you two upgraded the dormitory door? And how long will our food and water last?"

In response to his question, Mathew replied, "Our food and water will only last for a day. If we ration it strictly, it can last for two days."

"Moreover, I've used the upgrade interface, and it required 10 wood to upgrade the door from level 1 to level 2."

"According to the intel we gathered in the dormitory building chat group, most students had already taken resources from those resource points like food from the cafeteria, medicine from the infirmary, or weapons from the gymnasium."

"Wood can be found anywhere, as the dormitory building game seemed to refresh it regardless of location. However, higher quality materials like steel were mostly found in the storage room, and they were already taken by other students."

In other words, Dorm 69's door was still a level 1 wooden door.

Let alone door-breaking monsters, even players with blue-grade talents could destroy it.

However, just as Gabriel was about to let Lucas use his talent to wander outside and gather resources they needed, he suddenly heard a notification sound in his mind.

[The Life Simulator System is online!]

[The function of the Life Simulator System is to simulate the host's life within this world. It can be considered as predicting the future or viewing an alternate timeline.]

[Everything within the simulation is absolutely a simulation and is not a parallel world, just a complete replica that the simulator has created.]

[If the host follows the future trajectory simulated in the life simulator in the real world, then the host can expect that everything will go the way it did as the system had simulated. However, do note that even just one minor difference will increase the chance of the future changing.]

[To ensure the host won't reach an unsolvable simulated future life, the host can draw on simulation talents. Simulation talents from lowest to highest are graded as: White, Green, Blue, Purple, Orange, Gold, Red]

[Each time the host completes a simulation, the host's simulated life will be graded with a score. The higher the score, the more rewards can be inherited back into the real world, including but not limited to: simulation talents, power, and items.]

[By default, the host will receive memories of the life simulation as the one performing it essentially the host. Whenever the host wants to, the host can descend into the life simulation and control the simulated body, switching from text-based simulation to immersive simulation.]

[However, no matter what, the host's mind and soul will never be corrupted and polluted by any third party within the life simulation!]

[Furthermore, all simulation rewards have already been purified by the system before the host can even receive them. Even if a third party tampered with a certain item and the host brought it back to the real world, the system has already purified it by the time the host receives it.]

[With all that being said, if the host doesn't have any further questions, does the host want to start a life simulation?]

[Do note that the host can only get one life simulation attempt per day. The host can gain one attempt during midnight, and if the host doesn't use it, it can stack, so the host doesn't have to worry about forgetting and wasting a simulation attempt.]

The cold, mechanical, genderless voice of the system explained, with Gabriel hearing it directly in his mind.

He had thoroughly listened to its explanations to the point that even if he felt it was surreal, he didn't have any questions, as the system had already explained it before he could even ask.

'Ah, screw it! I don't have any better options, and if I don't act decisively, who knows if that motherfucker breaks down the dormitory door and kills Mathew, Lucas, and me.'

'Whether this is real or not, I'll just try one life simulation and see. Whatever its intentions are, I don't care much as long as it's reasonable, as in this world, nothing is free. Everything that is, has already been marked with a price by fate.'

With that in mind, Gabriel decisively stated in his mind, 'Start the life simulation!'

-Ding!

[Before the life simulation starts, the host can choose three simulation talents from six random talents.]
