Chapter 36 - Chapter 36: Hero Basics

Time flew by, and Yang Xiao was so busy he didn't realize it was already ten o'clock. Under the guidance of Kagura and Tsukuyo, he had already grasped the operations of the Yorozuya and had a clear understanding of his daily tasks.

Toga, on the other hand, was a bit confused. It seemed her mind wasn't fully on the Yorozuya yet. She always wanted Yang Xiao to cover for her a bit longer so she could slack off.

Yang Xiao didn't mind this. He thought it was good to learn more; it would definitely be useful in the future. Otherwise, when you need a skill and don't have it, you'll only have yourself to blame.

After work, Kagura and the others left. In a few days, the three of them would continue their missions. Yang Xiao's job was to fully cooperate with them, providing information and logistical support.

It could be said that there were quite a lot of orders piled up recently. Yang Xiao alone knew of more than a dozen, and the rewards weren't cheap.

Now, Yang Xiao had to juggle school and Yorozuya duties. He was very busy, but he still made time in the evenings to train his body and Quirk.

Physical training and Quirk development were non-negotiable, because Yang Xiao knew that if he slacked off, the other three people who had come to this world like him would keep working hard, and the gap would widen. So, Yang Xiao didn't want his strength to lag too far behind.

Ideally, his own strength would surpass that of the other three transmigrators, so he wouldn't have to worry too much.

...

The curriculum for U.A. High's Hero Course consisted of compulsory subjects in the morning, including general education courses like English.

Yang Xiao was very satisfied that he could enjoy first-class food at a low price in the cafeteria at noon. One of his small goals in entering U.A. High was to eat top-tier food. While there was great food outside, the key point was that outside food was expensive, while the food here was cheap and delicious.

The U.A. cafeteria offered not only Japanese food but also Chinese cuisine, Western fast food, and pretty much everything else.

Yang Xiao ordered a Chinese meal and then a Western fast food meal. Western fast food meant things like burgers and fried chicken. Yang Xiao was particularly fond of burgers, so he ordered one along with a serving of fries.

After finding an empty seat, he started eating right away. Just then, Denki Kaminari came over with a standard Japanese meal, set his tray down opposite Yang Xiao, and sat down.

"You seem to like being alone..." Kaminari wasn't embarrassed. He picked up his chopsticks and started eating. Only then did he notice what Yang Xiao had ordered. He was immediately surprised and said, "You eat really well. Is your family rich?"

Yang Xiao almost choked on Kaminari's words and only recovered after taking a sip of soup. "Why think about money first? Can't it just be personal preference? I like to eat, so I ordered this much."

"But students without money usually don't eat like this. Look at the others, is anyone eating like you?" Kaminari raised his hand and pointed at students at other tables. Suddenly, he realized that these students were also eating very well!

"You're the stingy one. Everyone's spending about the same amount, and the food here is so cheap. What's wrong with eating a bit more?" Yang Xiao said helplessly, picking up a fry and starting to eat.

Kaminari finally realized there might be something wrong with his own thinking. Was he really being too frugal with his order today?

Yang Xiao knew Kaminari's family had some money, but whether his family was willing to give him a generous allowance was another matter.

Then, the afternoon class finally arrived.

Hero Basic Training.

"I... AM... HERE!"

When all the students were in the classroom, a booming voice suddenly sounded outside the door, followed by All Might pushing the door open and leaping in gracefully.

"He just came in through the door normally." All Might laughed and struck a pose he thought was very cool.

"It's All Might!"

"That's amazing, he really is a teacher."

"That's the costume from the Silver Age of American comics."

"The art style is so surprising, it gives me goosebumps..."

Ahem! All Might feigned a cough. He had heard everyone's discussion, most of which was praise for him. "The subject I'm in charge of is Hero Basic Training. It's a subject for various trainings to build the foundation of a hero, and it carries the most credits. Today's lesson is... combat training!"

As All Might spoke, he raised his hand and waved it. A white sign appeared in his hand with the English letters "BATTLE" written on it.

That is to say, combat training.

"Combat!" Katsuki Bakugo suddenly got excited. This was the kind of class he had been waiting for. Only fighting could pique his interest. Things like English class weren't interesting at all.

"And along with it comes this... look this way," All Might waved his hand, and everyone's eyes immediately turned to the left wall. The stripes that originally looked like just part of the wall suddenly protruded, revealing rows of numbered compartments like shelves.

"These combat costumes are customized based on the Quirk Apprehension Test and Request Sheets you submitted before enrollment."

"Oh!" With All Might's introduction, all the students became excited. The combat suits looked like the gear professional heroes wear on missions. They were so cool and stylish, just thinking about it was thrilling.

"Change your clothes and gather in sequence at Ground Beta," All Might said, raising his index finger.

"Yes!" the students replied in unison.

A few minutes later, All Might stood at the entrance to the locker rooms at Ground Beta. He couldn't see inside; it was pitch black.

Just then, everyone emerged, including Yang Xiao. He felt like he could hear a BGM playing. Should he be feeling excited right now?

"Appearance is also important, boys and girls," All Might said, waving his hand as he watched everyone gradually step out of the darkness. "From today on, you must all... have the awareness of heroes."

When everyone fully emerged from the darkness, All Might's eyes lit up. These students were full of energy and vigor.

It reminded him of his own youth.

"Not bad, you all look very cool," All Might said with satisfaction. "Alright, let's get started, young ones!"

Costume Provision: As long as you submit your Quirk Apprehension Test, Physical Information, and Design Requests before enrolling at U.A. High, the school's exclusive support company will provide you with the latest gear. It's a wonderful system.

The combat costume Yang Xiao wore was very simple. His arms were wrapped in a soft metal with streamlined golden patterns designed to channel his light emission.

He wore light yellow goggles over his eyes, and his legs were clad in soft, streamlined metal. However, he had no other protective gear on his body and looked quite ordinary.

"So cool, Yang Xiao!" Denki Kaminari came over to Yang Xiao and offered a word of praise. He thought what Yang Xiao was wearing looked really cool.

Yang Xiao felt that Kaminari seemed to want to be friends with him; he had approached him several times. This time, he even directly complimented him on looking cool.

"Yours is good too, Kaminari," Yang Xiao replied politely. To be honest, Kaminari's combat costume was just so-so. It mainly had an added headset and a different clothing style.
