Chapter 209 - Chapter 209: Kings Reunion (2)

Detention Cell

A guard approached Baki's cell.

"You have a visitor."

Baki opened his eyes.

"Already?"

The door opened. A well-dressed woman in her mid-twenties entered. She wore an expensive suit and had long elbow-length red hair.

"Mr. Hanma. My name is Attorney Heeyeon Hwang. I am here to represent you."

Baki raised an eyebrow.

"You? You were an attorney for real?"

"Why? You didn't believe me before?"

"I can't trust the words of someone I met for the first time now, can I?"

Heeyeon sat on the bench beside him and set down a leather briefcase.

"I've reviewed the evidence against you. It's substantial. It's a clear video proof."

"And even then you came here to represent me? I guess I wasn't wrong to call you out for being a fool."

"Shut up. I know what's going on. You might not know, but my father, Congressman Hwang, has been recently arrested alongside Taesan Ju. I have experienced fair share of my life to know that there's something huge going on."

Heeyeon opened her briefcase and pulled out documents.

"Tell me, Mr. Hanma. What do you plan to do?"

Baki chuckled.

"That's interesting. You've changed from the spoiled brat you were."

"I will take your comment as a complement."

Heeyeon met his eyes.

"Now let me ask you directly: did you kill Charles Choi?"

Baki held her gaze. Then he smiled with cold eyes.

"Yes."

Heeyeon didn't flinch.

"Then we have a lot of work to do."

Baki smiled.

"Not really. We just have to wait."

Heeyeon sighed.

"I guess your plan is already in motion. Even so, I can't wait. I will see what I can do."

Central Seoul

Seongji stood before a long unused trunk covered in dust. He patted off the dust and slowly opened it. His belongings from Cheonliang lay inside. A briefcase was separately secured on the side. He pulled it out.

Dust flew everywhere as he took out the briefcase. He settled it on a table and unlocked it. As he slowly opened it, a deep red colored paper appeared with something written in Japanese and a handprint on the side.

The Red Paper had been handed to him by Jin Mujin, the legend of Korean Ssireum. After all these years, Seongji was holding this again. Before he didn't know its use, but this time he clearly understood its importance.

Seongji muttered as he clutched the Red Paper.

"I guess it's time for this thing to come in use."

He closed the trunk and turned back.

The doorbell rang.

Seongji put the briefcase aside and walked toward the door.

"Huh? Who would ring the doorbell at this time? The kids are on holiday trip. Eli and the Hostel have already moved out too."

Seongji looked through the peephole. Something crashed against the door and it broke open. The impact made Seongji skid backward.

"Huh? Who are you guys?"

Several men dressed in black suits and white shirts stood before Seongji. Kenta Magami, Sato Kazuma, Taegon Wi, Hwang Ho, Huseong Ha, Changyong Ji, and Dosu Lee stood at the front. Behind them stood Jin Jang, Scott Kwon, Ivan Park, Hope Park, Dominic Min, Seth Lee, and Matt Kang.

Workers Headquarters

Eugene stood before a glass panel and overlooked the whole of Seoul.

Mandeok called out from the back.

"Are you sure about this? I don't see what we can gain by doing this."

Eugene shook his head.

"Diego Kang... James Lee... How interesting! Let's play it your way."

---

Flashback

Eugene leaned against his chair with his phone pressed against his ear.

"It's strange. I didn't expect you to call me."

James Lee smiled.

"Eugene. I've got your weakness."

"I see."

"You're pretty calm. Don't worry. After all, both of us are on the same boat. All you have to do is help me a little."

Eugene smiled.

"James L— Sorry, my tongue slipped. Diego Kang, do you think having my weakness makes your own weakness disappear?"

James chuckled.

"Of course not. But I am sure you're wise enough to know who to befriend."

---

Seongji sighed as he looked at the Workers. He pointed at the briefcase.

"You guys aren't here for this, are you?"

No one replied. Within a few seconds, the whole room was filled with members of Workers. More were pouring in and the stairs were blocked.

Seongji took off his jacket and wrapped it around his waist before grabbing the briefcase.

"Sorry. But I can't hand it over."

The first three Workers charged together from different angles.

"Take away the briefcase!"

"Get that bastard!"

"Don't let him escape!"

Seongji grabbed the nearest one by the collar and swung him into the other two before they could close the distance. All three crashed into the wall hard enough to crack the plaster and they slumped to the floor in a tangled heap.

"Fuck! My back!"

"Shit... I can't move..."

"What the hell..."

Two more came from his left with their fists raised.

"We got him now!"

"Hit him from the side!"

Seongji ducked under the first punch and drove his elbow into the man's ribs.

"GAAAH! My ribs!"

He caught the second attacker's wrist and twisted until something popped.

"AHHHHH! My arm! My fucking arm!"

Both men dropped with gasps of pain.

Four Workers tried to rush him at once.

"All together! Rush him!"

"He's just one guy!"

"Overwhelm him with numbers!"

Seongji planted his foot and drove his fist through the lead attacker's guard and caught him square in the chest and sent him flying backward into the others.

"Ugh... what the hell..."

"Can't... breathe..."

The group collapsed like dominoes.

Matt Kang tried to grab Seongji from behind.

"Heh! You're just one man! What can you do?"

Seongji drove his elbow back into Matt's solar plexus.

"Kugh... I can't... breathe..."

Matt's arms fell away and he doubled over. Seongji turned and grabbed Matt's head with both hands. He pulled Matt's face down into his rising knee. Matt's nose broke with a sharp crack and he dropped.

"AHHHHH! MY NOSE! MY FUCKING NOSE!"

Another Worker grabbed at the briefcase from behind.

"Got it! I got the briefcase!"

Seongji spun and caught the man's throat with his free hand and lifted him off his feet before throwing him into two more attackers who were trying to flank him.

"What the—SHIT!"

"Move! MOVE!"

The three went down in a crash of breaking furniture.

Hope Park charged forward with his massive bulk and tried to tackle Seongji.

"I will take you on! You're going down!"

Seongji planted his feet and caught Hope's shoulders. The two grappled for a moment before Seongji's fingers found Hope's ribs. He squeezed and Hope's eyes went wide.

"GAHHH! What the fuck! LET GO!"

The ribs bent inward visibly under the pressure. Hope gasped and tried to pull away but Seongji held firm. He lifted Hope off his feet and threw him sideways into a cluster of unnamed Workers.

"INCOMING!"

"OH SHIT!"

"WATCH OUT!"

The group went down like bowling pins.

Six more poured through the doorway.

"Keep coming! Don't stop!"

"Surround him!"

"Take him down!"

Seongji met them head-on with the briefcase tucked under his arm. His fist caught the first in the jaw and the man's head snapped back as he crumpled.

Seongji grabbed the second by the shoulder and drove his knee into the man's stomach.

"OOOFFF!"

He shoved him into the third and fourth attackers.

"Fuck! Get off me!"

"I can't—we're falling!"

Both went down under the weight. The fifth and sixth tried to grab his arms.

"Hold him! HOLD HIM!"

"I got his left arm!"

Seongji twisted free and delivered two quick strikes to their temples. They dropped without another sound.

Scott Kwon and Ivan Park moved in together from opposite angles.

"Who the fuck is this guy?!"

"He is fucking strong!"

"Don't back down! Attack together!"

Scott threw a combination of jabs while Ivan kicked at Seongji's legs. Seongji blocked Scott's punches with his left arm while catching Ivan's shin with his right hand. He squeezed and Ivan's leg buckled.

"AHHHH! MY LEG! MY FUCKING LEG!"

Seongji shoved Ivan back into Scott and both stumbled.

"Shit! Watch it!"

"He's too damn strong!"

Three Workers came at him with chairs raised as makeshift weapons.

"Break his skull!"

"Smash him!"

"Die, you bastard!"

Seongji kicked the first chair out of its wielder's hands and the wood splintered against the wall.

"Damn—!"

"Fuck my life!"

He grabbed the second attacker's wrist as the chair came down and redirected it into the third man's face.

"MY FUCKING FACE!"

Both fell. The disarmed Worker tried to tackle him.

"Damn you, bastard!!!"

Seongji caught him mid-charge and threw him over his hip into the pile of bodies accumulating near the door.

"UGHHH!"

Dominic Min threw a wild punch that Seongji slipped easily.

"Shit! He's fast too!"

Seongji grabbed Dominic's wrist and twisted. The joint popped and Dominic screamed.

"AHHHHHH! MY WRIST! YOU BROKE MY FUCKING WRIST!"

Seongji released him and delivered a palm strike to the chest that sent Dominic sliding across the floor.

Five unnamed Workers charged together.

"Don't stop! Keep pushing!"

"We can take him!"

"He's getting tired!"

Seongji grabbed the first by the collar and threw him into the second.

"Fuck! Watch out!"

"OOFFF!"

Both went down in a tangle of limbs. He ducked under a wild haymaker from the third and delivered an uppercut that lifted the man onto his toes before he collapsed.

"Fuck you, asshole..."

The fourth and fifth tried to grab him from both sides.

"Got his right arm!"

"I got his left!"

Seongji drove his elbows outward into their ribs.

"GAHH! MY RIBS!"

"I CAN'T BREATHE!"

Both men gasped and staggered back with their hands pressed to their sides.
