Chapter 104 - CHAPTER 104: THE ENFORCEMENT UNION HEADQUARTERS!

"Hey, Big Guy! Long time no see! How's it going?" Mo Fan called out casually, waving at the enormous Black Serpent as if greeting an old friend.

It had been ages since he'd last encountered the Black Totem Snake. Even in his past life, their paths hadn't crossed in over a decade.

He'd been so preoccupied with his regretful thoughts that he'd momentarily forgotten he was near West Lake, the creature's territory.

But something was off.

The Black Totem Snake's eyes locked onto Mo Fan, its pupils narrowing into threatening slits. The yellow glow in its gaze was anything but friendly. It radiated pure hostility, a simmering rage that seemed ready to erupt at any moment.

"...W-why are you staring like that?" Mo Fan stammered, confused by the serpent's aggressive demeanour. He had no idea what had triggered this reaction.

Unbeknownst to him, the Black Totem Snake had sensed a vile and ominous presence within him the moment he'd arrived in the city.

The snake had restrained itself only because of the children and humans nearby, not wanting to cause chaos. But now, with no one else around, it saw no reason to hold back.

To the Black Totem Snake, Mo Fan's presence was a dire threat. Though he appeared to be an Intermediate Mage, the latent power of the Sacred Evil God within him was so overwhelming, making the massive creature feel small and insignificant in comparison.

It was as if Mo Fan could obliterate it with a mere thought. The serpent decided it couldn't afford to wait for that moment; it needed to strike first.

WHOOSH~

Without warning, the Black Totem Snake reared its colossal body high into the sky from the lake, its black scales blending ominously in the night sky. It opened its massive maw, and a thick, noxious green gas began to gather, swirling ominously as it prepared to attack.

Mo Fan's eyes widened in shock. "What the—?!" He hadn't anticipated this level of hostility. There was no time to think, only to react.

"Telekinesis!"

He threw his hands up instinctively, and a mysterious silver glow enveloped them, the power of the Space Element surged from his eyes.

He knew this wasn't going to be enough... To face off against a Supreme Ruler Level entity like the Black Totem Snake in his current state was practically a death sentence. On top of that, it was a Totem Beast.

ZWHOOSH!!!

SWOOSH!!!!!!

The snake unleashed its deadly green gas without mercy, a violent storm of toxic energy roaring toward Mo Fan with terrifying speed.

He braced himself, heart pounding, as he tried to shield himself from the onslaught, but the odds were against him, and he knew it all too well.

"The fuck are you doing?? This is a residential Area!"

...

Lingyin Enforcement Union HQ!

The Lingyin Enforcement Union Headquarters stood as a beacon of power and authority in the heart of Hangzhou, near the serene and picturesque West Lake.

Located amidst the natural beauty of one of China's most famous landscapes, the headquarters was a striking blend of traditional Chinese architecture and modern design, symbolizing the union of age-old wisdom and contemporary strength.

As one approached the headquarters, the first thing that caught the eye was the towering pagoda-style structure that dominated the skyline.

This central building, a majestic tower of almost 450m in height, adorned with intricate carvings and golden accents, rose high above everything in the area, its roof crowned with a dragon-shaped finial that glimmered under the sunlight.

The building's façade was a harmonious mix of jade-green tiles and dark, polished stone, exuding an aura of both elegance and invincibility.

The headquarters was situated on a lush, expansive estate that stretched for several kilometres, bordered by the tranquil waters of West Lake on one side and the verdant hills of Lingyin Temple on the other.

The path leading to the main entrance was flanked by ancient gingko trees, their golden leaves creating a natural canopy that rustled softly in the wind. Stone lanterns, meticulously carved with protective runes and various Magic Formations, lined the walkway, casting a gentle glow during the evening hours.

Upon entering the grounds, visitors were greeted by a vast courtyard, a marvel of traditional Chinese landscaping. In the centre of the courtyard stood a grand reflecting pool, its surface as smooth as glass, mirroring the sky and the surrounding architecture. Lotus flowers floated on the water, their delicate petals adding a touch of colour to the scene.

Surrounding the pool were meticulously trimmed bonsai trees, each one a masterpiece of horticultural art, and statues of legendary mages who had once served the Enforcement Union, their stone visages forever gazing towards the horizon.

The headquarters itself was an expansive complex, with the main tower serving as the entire hub of operations. It housed the offices of China's top-level Enforcer Mages and the highest-ranking Magic Judges, individuals of unparalleled skill and wisdom. The interior of the building was as grand as its exterior, with high ceilings, marble floors, and walls adorned with tapestries depicting the great battles and triumphs of the Enforcement Union. The atmosphere was one of solemnity and respect, a place where only the most serious of matters were discussed and decided.

Large windows on the Pagoda provided breath-taking views of West Lake, its waters calm and reflective, surrounded by the distant silhouettes of mountains that seemed to float in the mist. The air was always crisp and fresh, imbued with the scent of pine and the faint fragrance of blooming flowers from the surrounding gardens. The entire setting was tranquil, almost meditative, a stark contrast to the immense power and authority that the headquarters represented.

Though there was completely a different story under the basement below the Pagoda, that extended up to 150m below the ground, it was a dungeon!

A place built to keep the most horrific and dangerous criminals of China. The entire dungeon was encapsulated in thousands of magic formations, so that no one other than the people having the seal of Enforcement Union on their soul would not get lost in there.

Since it was a Dungeon to keep dangerous criminals, there was also a Magic sealing formation engraved into each tile, wall and pillar of the entire place. Even Forbidden Mages of the highest Cultivation would get lost in there for eternity!

To the north of the main building lay the training grounds, where the elite Enforcer Mages honed their skills. This area was a vast open space, equipped with the most advanced magical training facilities in the world. The grounds were dotted with towering stone pillars inscribed with ancient spells, their surfaces scorched from countless practice sessions. Here, the mages could often be seen practicing their arts, their powerful spells lighting up the sky in dazzling displays of elemental mastery.

Beyond the training grounds was a secluded temple, a place of quiet reflection and meditation for those who sought to balance their immense power with inner peace. The temple, built in the traditional style, with sweeping eaves and red lacquered beams, was surrounded by a bamboo grove. The sound of wind rustling through the bamboo and the distant chimes of the temple bells added to the serene atmosphere.

The Lingyin Enforcement Union Headquarters was not just a building or a place of work; it was a symbol of the strength, wisdom, and justice that the union upheld throughout he entirety of China. It stood as a reminder to all who entered of the immense responsibility that came with wielding such power, and the dedication required to protect the peace and harmony of the World.

*Hnn~ng~*

Tang Zhong who was working in his office on the top most floor, finally finished fifty entire pile of documents, placed neatly on his table.

He had not went home for one whole week and finished all his work for the next four months! He could now take a well deserved break.

He was planning on going to a honeymoon vacation with his wife next month. He was so determined to take a leave that he finished everything which required his attention for the next four months.

Since becoming a Chairman, he was not able to spend that much intimate time with his wife, even though both of his kids had grown up into fine young adults, he was planning on making one more in his vacation~

He stretched his hands on his chair and walked towards the window to take in the beautiful and tranquil view.

The view encapsulated the entirety of the city as well as the West Lake. It was indeed a breathtaking view when seen from such high above. The modernity of city as well as the tranquility of the lake and mountains in the distance. It was a perfect harmony.

He was loving the feel of the cold crisp air of the evening sky. He took in a deep breath and decided to brew himself a cup of Black Coffee.

He moved towards the coffee making machine and pressed the button, in no time the coffee was brewed and he grabbed the cup and went back to the Window.

"Fuu~"

He gently blew on the boiling hot coffee and took the cup towards his lips,

Slurp~

He took one small sip and looked at the view outside.

*Sigh~*

He let out a contented sigh and smiled peacefully like an old man enjoying his retirement life.
