Chapter 3 - "The End and Beginning"

When Lucas opened his eye, his vision seemed to return, as if he had no idea what he had done to himself just moments ago,

He winced in pain as he felt a sharp wind cutting against his face like a knife, his eyes felt weak from the sudden forces,

When he finally opened his eyes back, fighting from that wind pressure, He was shocked! As now he was standing and could see the clouds that looked like candy-floss and seemed like they were in his grasp, just meters away.....

For a fleeting second he thought that he was dreaming, when he looked downwards,

"Horror!", pure horror—

Painted his face as he was just standing on the edge of a high-rise platform inches away from being pulled by gravity, and getting squashed like a goddamn bug,

What the- why am I?

Just then—

His foot slipped, his mind numbed, his brain froze as panic surged through every nerve- his brain flooded with desperation searching for balance in that panic, the mask which was in his hands slipped from his grasp,

Clattering down the ledge as it dangled and pierced through the white-mist as it accelerated downwards,

And seeing this, his body lunged forward without his control,

"NO--!"

The sky tilted, the platform blurred-and suddenly he was falling downwards plunging into the nothingness below covered with the white-clouds, his heart was now slamming against his chest threatening to come out if necessary, the world faded into blurred-lines of blue and white as he plunged deeper into the nothingness...

Just then as he was falling he felt something cold in his hands,

He gasped! When he saw the mask in his hand again, like it never disappeared into the abyss and was always in his hands,

His mind was now in "Hay-wire" as he saw streaks of colours and a asphalt road with vehicles moving with light-speed,

"Stop.....Stop!" His pleas were swallowed by the wind,

Just before the impact, Instinct took over as his hands covered his head, his eyes shut-tight, bracing for the crushing end—

But there was nothing, no sudden pain just before being uninstalled,

Just silence.....

When he opened his eyes, he was no longer falling he was seated upright, gasping for air as if it was his last-

in a room with huge velvet curtains draping the tall windows and golden-light filtering out of them, with a small expensive-looking chandelier glued to the ceiling, the air smelled of perfume and old-papers, the kind of place belonging to a business-man or a person with hell-lot of money to waste.

In his hand the mask now felt like breathing- just before he could make sense of anything the mask vanished from his hands almost magically and appeared on his face,

He panicked- as the mask got tighter and tighter as if gluing itself to his face, it made crunching and cracking sound as it broke his skull into fragments,

"Ahhhhhhh—.... stop..stop..stop..it hurts..it hu-.."

Just before he could scream again the mask tore into his skull as if replacing it and he fell to the floor with blood dripping from his mask as if freeing itself from clogging.

Lucas stirred-awake slowly, as the golden light spilled on to his frame which was pressed against a king sized bed.

Lucas opened his eyes,

And for the first time he could see clearly where he was,

The light reflected the shiny matte-black walls with the little chandelier on the ceiling and on the front-side a huge sleek TV rested,

He rubbed his eyes again as this wasn't his room, his thoughts screamed louder,

"Damn.. what the hell hapened..." the last thing I remember is picking up that damn cursed mask from my living room,

But his stomach betrayed him as he was really feeling like throwing up, and his head hurted like thousands of needles were playing with those nerve thingies-

Staggering he pulled himself up, all he wanted now was to clear himself up as It felt like his body was lagging whenever he tried to walk,

Stumbling through the new hallway he made his way to a room until he spotted a Sign: BATHROOM

relief washed over him as he muttered to himself, "God bless you, whoever wrote this" really love you man, really appreciate it".

He pushed the door open without bothering to turn on the lights as it felt heavy his mind was nothing but a mess as he couldn't make sense of anything,

He saw a neon print of a drawing of a shower with steam,

Hesitantly he pressed the button,

Soon steam clouded his figure as the hot-water fell on his body, his body felt relaxed but not his mind, as it never stopped spinning,

For some time, he just stood there, until his mind cleared a bit,

Until something felt very wrong—

He felt lighter....., his body didn't feel like his own, he felt some muscles on his stomach when he touched them he was confused,

Even his balance was off, and....Taller?

Dazed, lucas rubbed the foggy-mirror, as he looked into it squinting his eyes he froze,

Because the reflection staring back at him wasn't his,

Black hair, purple eyes, a face he didn't recognize at all was mirroring his movements,

Lucas felt his stomach twisting as bile started to rise upto his throat till the acidic taste burned..

He pressed on the sink below the mirror to allow himself to breathe as his breath came in shallow bursts,

Clink~

the shower stopped but lucas still dazed stood by the mirror until he felt his mouth moving for the first time since waking up as he couldn't feel his body before, and muttering,

"I am..... in deep-shit aren't I"

HAaaa!...
