Chapter 5 - The evaluation

The next morning, I woke up at 6:50 A.M. My body felt tired and heavy. I had stayed up most of the night reading the beginner magic books. But today was the day—my academy life was finally starting.

I had even managed to learn a few simple magics, like storage magic. It allowed me to store items in a special space, the size of which depended on my mana capacity. I thought I would fail, but it was surprisingly easy. I stored the necessary books and supplies in it. After my morning routine, I left the house, making sure, as always, to lock the door behind me.

My first stop was the bakery to buy my usual sandwiches. The moment I entered, Rose noticed me and gave me a wide, bright smile.

"So, you're going to the magic academy now, huh?" she said. "Hope you have fun there!" I had told her about it yesterday, but I still had the evaluation test to pass before I was officially a student. She must have had a lot of trust in me. I couldn't break her hopes; I had to do my best.

She handed me the bag of sandwiches. "I put in some extra sandwiches for free, so you'll have more energy for your evaluation test!" she said, her smile incredibly cute. It was devastating. I thanked her and had to force myself to leave, her charm was so potent.

I left the bakery and headed to the bus stop. There, I saw the usual girl, Cherry. Her large breasts were, as always, very noticeable under her shirt, which seemed to barely contain them. She noticed me and her face lit up as she hurried over.

"So, you decided to enroll after all," she said. "I thought you chickened out when I didn't see you yesterday." She sounded a little angry. Why was she upset? Was it because she was lonely yesterday? Unfortunately, I had been busy reading all day.

"Well, I was reading the stack of beginner books the academy gave me," I explained. "I didn't have much time to come to the bus stop. You must have been very lonely." It seemed like she had very few friends, since she was always alone when I saw her.

"Wh-what! I, I am not angry because I was feeling lonely, okay?" she said, her face turning slightly red. It was cute how she looked away, trying to hide her expression.

"Okay, okay, I understand," I said. "Anyway, what's that book? Is it for me?" The book she was holding looked different from the ones I had.

"W-well, since you're kind of new to magic and stuff, I thought I could give you some beginner magics I made specially for you," she said in a soft voice, her face still flushed.

"Well, thank you. I can't refuse such a gift from you," I said. I took the book. It felt like it was made by someone who wasn't an experienced writer, but that didn't matter. What mattered were the magic spells inside.

Just then, the bus arrived. We boarded and sat together as usual, starting a conversation about magic and other things. I could still feel the jealous stares from the other passengers.

After a while, we reached our destination. When we got off the bus together, the jealous looks from the people inside seemed to grow even stronger, but I didn't care.

Ahead of us was the magnificent, giant structure of the Magica Academy. You could see it from far away. It was a building funded by the nation with huge amounts of money. I felt so happy thinking that if I passed the evaluation, I would officially become a student of this prestigious academy!

Cherry walked beside me with a dignified air, though her large breasts bounced with every step, which somewhat ruined the serious effect. I tried my best not to stare too much as we reached the giant entrance of the academy.

A man in a professor's coat came out. He looked at Cherry and smiled. "Ah, early again? What training did you do with Victor yesterday? You looked very tired." He seemed like a very friendly person, and Cherry didn't seem to mind him, so she must trust him.

"The usual training," she replied in a somewhat bored tone. "Mana concentration." It seemed they weren't that close. The man scratched his head, still smiling, and then noticed me.

"Ohh! Our Cherry has finally made a boyfriend! That's news!" he said. I couldn't tell if he was being serious or just making a bad joke, but it was lame, especially since he dragged me into it.

"Sh-shut up! It's none of your business!" Cherry's face turned red as she tried to stop him. It was cute, but also strange that she didn't outright deny it. I mean, I didn't mind being her friend, but a boyfriend? I'd never had a girlfriend, so I didn't even know what that felt like.

Anyway, the professor left, and we entered the academy. The place was huge, with many different sections. Cherry led me to one area that was very busy, filled with new students waiting to take their evaluation tests.

She seemed happy to be showing me the way. Other students were staring at us for some reason. Were they jealous? I didn't know. We reached a counter with neatly stacked papers and a robot sitting behind the desk.

"Welcome to the Magica Academy, newbies!" it said in a mechanical voice. "This is where you'll learn about magic and the world. As you grow, we hope you'll become very good humans." It was kind of funny, but also serious.

"Time for your evaluation test, User 9173826192," it said, blurting out a huge number. It picked up a blue crystal sphere from under the desk and placed it in front of me. Cherry was looking at me with hopeful eyes. I have to try my best!

As soon as I touched the crystal sphere, it started to glow with different colors. Random numbers flashed across its surface: 50, 100, 2000, 5000, 9000, 20000, 8000, 3000, and finally... 0. The sphere's color settled on a steady green. I looked at Cherry, expecting to see her happy, but she just looked confused.

Suddenly, the robot spoke up. "Error! Required mana insufficient. Error! User 9173826192 has passed the evaluation test!"

Huh? Did it just say I passed even though I failed the mana test? Everyone standing around us looked just as shocked as I was. The surprise didn't last long before Cherry snapped out of it and congratulated me with a smile.

"Yay, you passed, Sparx!" she said, beaming. Well, that was strange, but at least I had passed. She happily took my hand and led me away, ready to start our new journey together in the magic academy.

---

In a sunny village where flowers bloom and sway, A friendly mage calls girls to come and play. With a warm smile and a twinkle in his eye, He promises magic under a bright blue sky. "Special practice, special practice," he sings with cheer, A happy song that draws the young ones near. Innocent and giggling, they skip to his door, Ready for fun,not knowing what's in store.

The first time they visit, the room feels so grand; Candles glow soft, like stars in his hand. Lick lick lick,he starts with a playful grin, Tasting their skin, from their toes to their chin. It feels like a game,so ticklish and light, Their laughter rings out in the warm candlelight. But deep in his eyes,a shadow creeps slow, Stealing their mana,a power they don't know. Their spark fades a bit, though they smile and sway, Caught in his spell, they think it's just play.

Special practice, special practice, the song calls again; They return to the mage, like moths to a flame. The second time's sweeter, with treats on the shelf; Slurp slurp slurp,he drinks from their self. His lips trace their arms, their necks, and their face, Savoring slowly,in his cozy embrace. They giggle and blush, feeling warm, feeling free, Not seeing the chains in his magical spree. Their minds grow hazy, their thoughts not their own, Mana flows to him, like water to stone.

The third happy visit, they dance through his gate, Dreaming of wonders, not guessing their fate. Smooch smooch smooch, his kisses are deep, Lips pressing close,as they drift half-asleep. It feels like love,so thrilling and sweet, Their hearts skip along to the magical beat. But the mage's spell tightens,a web spun with care, Binding their minds in a soft, dreamy snare. More mana is pulled, their light starts to dim, Yet they smile, believing it's all just for him.

Special practice, special practice, the tune hums along; The fourth time they come, their hearts beating strong. Thwop thwop thwop, their bodies entwine, A dance in the dark, where the stars seem to shine. They feel so alive, lost in joy and in heat, Every touch electric, every moment so sweet. But his power grows stronger, their wills fade away, Puppets to his whims,in his twisted ballet. Their mana drains fast, like a river run dry, Yet they laugh, unaware of the truth in his lie.

The fifth time they enter, their eyes glow with trust; Ah ah ah,they sigh, as their hearts turn to dust. Moans fill the air,as they give all they are, Bound to his will, like moths to a star. They think it's pure bliss, this dream that they chase, Not seeing the void in his cold, empty face. Fully his now, they bend to his call, No thoughts of their own,no freedom at all. Their mana is gone, their spirits undone, Yet they smile, believing the battle is won.

Special practice, special practice, all go in the void! The song rings out loud,so happy, so coy. The girls fade away, like mist in the dawn, Their laughter now echoes, their essence is gone. The mage hums his tune, his power so vast, Calling new faces to join in his cast. In his bright little world, where joy seems to reign, Hides a darkness that feeds on their light and their pain.
