Chapter 88 - Chapter 088: Two People Exploded

While Shinichi was busy solving the case, Akashi, having just finished washing his hands, made his way to one of the vacant rooms in the villa.

This villa had recently become a crime scene, and the lingering Yin energy was exceptionally strong.

A perfect place to check in!

Without hesitation, Akashi summoned his system and got straight to work.

*Click!

A familiar click echoed in his mind.

The sound of a camera shutter.

On his check-in interface, the image of the diplomat's villa appeared.

Then came the familiar purple light—followed by a treasure chest appearing before him.

A few streams of shimmering energy escaped from the chest and seeped into his body.

[Ding! Check-in successful. Congratulations, host! You have obtained: Hand of Abundance Lv1! Item Grid ×1!]

[Hand of Abundance Lv1: Active skill. By channeling spiritual power, the user can bless their hands to promote the growth of anything they touch.]

[PS: True masters of ball handling have been practicing since childhood!]

As he read the description, Akashi's expression darkened.

Hand of Abundance?

This was clearly a hand of breast enlargement!

This system keeps giving me these kinds of abilities…

He sighed, rubbing his temples.

But then he thought about it—who around him would even need this?

Definitely not Eri or Ran.

Both of them were naturally gifted to an unfair degree.

And Yukiko?

She was a top-tier movie queen, chosen by popular vote.

Her beauty was flawless—there was nothing to improve upon.

If there was anyone who could benefit from this skill…

It would probably be Kazuha.

The Immortal Grip had already taken some of her physical attributes before.

Wouldn't it be fair to return the favor?

The thought made him chuckle darkly.

As for the newly unlocked item grid…

Akashi casually stored the key evidence—the poisoned plastic piece—inside.

Now, everything was foolproof.

Instead of returning to the study, he took advantage of the moment when no one was paying attention.

With a silent command, he activated Wraith Dispersion Lv1.

Immediately, a green will-o'-the-wisp rose into the air, flickering in the dimly lit room.

The next second, the ghostly flame pulsed—its energy turning into an irresistible vortex.

From within the study, a vengeful spirit was forcefully sucked into the flame.

The spirit of Isao Tsujimura—the corrupt diplomat who had sought to defile a mother and daughter.

His spectral form twisted in agony as he was trapped inside the will-o'-the-wisp.

His screams were filled with pure suffering.

But…

Only Akashi could hear them.

Slowly, the agonized wails faded.

The will-o'-the-wisp burned away his soul, consuming it as fuel.

Once the energy was fully depleted, the flame flickered and died.

The entire process was unbearable for the spirit.

And yet—

Akashi felt strangely at ease.

The karmic link binding him to the spirit was severed.

The invisible resentment that had clung to him was gone.

For the first time in a while, he felt completely refreshed.

The villa's oppressive atmosphere also started to dissipate.

But Akashi didn't linger.

With a calm expression, he stepped out of the guest room—

And immediately ran into Ran, coming up from downstairs.

Before he could react, Ran swiftly scooped him up in her arms.

Her movements were practiced and effortless.

Akashi blinked.

…Was she absorbing Yin energy off me?

"Akashi, have you seen Conan?"

Ran's voice was filled with concern.

"I called the doctor, but Conan is missing!"

Akashi shook his head.

"I haven't seen him. Isn't he in the room?"

"Though… a man named Shinichi just arrived at the study. He's investigating the case."

"Shinichi?!"

Ran's eyes widened.

Her expression immediately darkened.

"That guy has been skipping school for so long! I was just about to ask him where the hell he's been!"

Without another word, she carried Akashi into the study.

The moment they stepped inside—

They were met with the sight of Shinichi getting absolutely torn apart by Kimie Tsujimura.

The high school detective was drenched in sweat, looking completely overwhelmed.

But even under the pressure of Kimie Tsujimura's furious scolding, Shinichi continued his deductions.

After thoroughly examining the evidence, he finally reached his conclusion:

"The murderer… is you, Mrs. Tsujimura!"

"The murder was committed right under the noses of a group of detectives, using the principle of darkness beneath the lamp—hiding in plain sight."

"The haunting melody of The Phantom of the Opera played loudly on an old record player, drawing everyone's attention away."

"At the center of the room, a stack of books was carefully arranged on the table, concealing any movements behind it."

"Meanwhile, Mr. Tsujimura was slumped over, appearing to be napping at the table."

"In reality, he had already been drugged with sleeping pills, rendering him unconscious in that position."

"The moment Mrs. Tsujimura unlocked the door with her key, and she struck."

"A poisonous needle was hidden inside the key itself, and with a swift movement, she stabbed it directly behind Mr. Tsujimura's ear."

"The toxin acted instantly—he died on the spot."

"There was no struggle, no sound."

"After that, Mrs. Tsujimura merely pushed his lifeless body to the floor, making it appear as if he had collapsed naturally."

"The keychain that held the needle was the crucial piece of evidence."

"If examined, traces of the poison would still be on it!"

Shinichi stood confidently, his expression sharp and unwavering as he laid out his deductions:

"If we find the keychain, it should have remnants of the poison. That's the irrefutable proof!"

Mrs. Tsujimura's face paled instantly.

Her composure crumbled as she frantically glanced around.

Her keychain—where was it?!

A cold sweat broke out on her forehead.

Just as panic overtook her—

"Found it!"

Takagi retrieved the missing keychain from behind the desk.

But when he opened it—

It was empty.

The plastic piece that once secured the poisonous needle had vanished without a trace!

"!?"

Upon seeing this, Mrs. Tsujimura immediately regained her confidence.

With no direct evidence, she straightened up, crossed her arms, and scoffed:

"You little brat, you sure love talking nonsense."

She grabbed the keychain and held it up.

"There's nothing here. Absolutely nothing."

Her voice grew more aggressive as she turned on Shinichi:

"You weren't even at the scene! You're just making things up!"

"Do you seriously think I would kill my own husband?"

"And what kind of idiot would invite an entire group of detectives just to commit murder in front of them?!"

Her laughter was sharp and mocking.

"Who would call an audience to witness a crime? That's ridiculous!"

Her words hit like a sledgehammer.

Shinichi staggered back, completely stunned.

How could this be?

His reasoning was flawless.

The keychain should have contained the poisoned needle.

Could it be that…

She somehow disposed of it before anyone noticed?

Before things escalated further, Kogoro stepped in, playing the role of peacemaker:

"Mrs. Tsujimura, please, let's stay calm."

He waved his hands in a placating manner.

"This kid is still young—he doesn't understand how the world works. Of course, he would suspect you."

He puffed out his chest confidently.

"That's why we need an experienced, level-headed detective like me to take charge of this case!"

While boasting, Kogoro adjusted his suit—

And at that moment…

A small piece of fabric peeked out from his back pocket.

"!!"

Mrs. Tsujimura's eyes locked onto it.

A strange feeling of familiarity surged through her.

Her expression darkened.

Almost as if in a trance, she reached down and yanked at the fabric.

The moment she pulled it out completely—

Her face twisted in horror.

It was her own underwear!

"..."

For a brief second, there was complete silence.

Then—

Mrs. Tsujimura erupted in rage.

"Kogoro Mori, YOU B*STRD! WHEN DID YOU STEAL MY UNDERWEAR?!"

With a piercing shriek, she lunged at him, claws bared.

Kogoro froze in sheer confusion.

"W-WHAT?!"

His mind reeled.

"Steal… your underwear?!"

"Are you insane?! Why would I—?!"

As if on instinct, he reached into his back pocket—

And to his absolute horror…

He pulled out another piece of fabric.

Another pair of Mrs. Tsujimura's underwear.

"...What the hell?!"

Mrs. Tsujimura lost it.

"HOW DARE YOU SAY YOU DIDN'T STEAL IT?!"

Her fingernails dug into his shoulders as she shook him violently.

Kogoro was completely dumbfounded.

What was going on?!

How could he possibly have her underwear in his pocket?!

This woman was delusional!

He knew her husband was dead, but that didn't mean she could just accuse him of nonsense!

At that moment, Ran entered the study—

Only to witness the absolute chaos unfolding before her.

Kogoro being manhandled by a raging woman.

The rest of the room in stunned silence.

And amidst it all—

Akashi, casually leaning against her, enjoying the show.

A smug smile tugged at his lips.

"Now this…"

He thought to himself.

"This is truly entertaining~"
