Lucius didn't know how much time had passed, but he was sure that he had spent more than a day inside the caves.
The internal structures of the cave had a particular cool temperature, so he wasn't worried about it or even the weather.
What he was worried about was if the knights were to leave their positions and start exploring the caves for no reason.
Or perhaps, to look for the scout.
At first glance, Lucius would have thought that they were also shade scouts as they all wore armours. But he had seen the memories of the shade knight; it was something of an errand boy for the real masters.
And there was the boss of this dungeon...
Cla! Cla! Cla...!
The sounds of feet clashing against a hard surface filled the desolate cave.
A young man with grey hair and red eyes walked into another section of the cave, observing the four armoured figures in front of him.
His shirt seemed to be torn in some parts and so were his pants. Seven long white pikes were on both sides of his arms.
A normal person would definitely not be able to carry something like this, but he held it as if he was holding two balls with his arms.
He gritted his teeth, picking up one of the bones shaped like a spear.
He wasn't comfortable staying inside; from his knowledge, time inside the dungeons and time outside are different; time is slower inside the dungeons.
'Time inside and outside the dungeons don't relate. At this point, I don't even care if I miss the hero registration appointment.'
Lucius had a piece of his cloth that had a bunch of dust in it and he tied it loosely to the edge of the spear.
He took a deep breath, aiming at the ground in front of the knights.
Soo!
The spear flew, too quick for normal eyes to see.
Boom!
The spear clashed with the ground, causing dust to rise and gather in the surroundings.
The knights that were there immediately began to move, holding their weapons up in front of their faces. They began to walk around despite the dust blocking their visions.
One of the knights in particular had a gash on his armour. He looked around; every single direction didn't escape his sight.
Whii!
The sound of an object tearing through the air caught the attention of the knight and in an instant, he swung his sword in front of him, slicing a long bone shaped in the form of a spear.
The knight glanced at the item, looking at it. It wasn't even aimed at him; it passed beside him.
Before the knight could react, a few more spears descended on him. He didn't have much time to react as the spears came like bullets.
The first one missed, brushing its armour by the side; the knight couldn't see anything so he was in the dark.
One of the spears broke through the dust, piercing its eye and ending its life in that instant.
On the pathway to the cave before the knights' cave, Lucius stood there, panting. He looked at the bunch of spears that were beside him and sighed.
[You have slain a D class creature; Shade Knight]
[You have leveled up!]
[You have leveled up!]
'I had to throw over 10 to get a clean hit,' he gritted his teeth.
There was no reason to lament over his luck at this moment; there were still three knights moving around frantically and the dust too was settling fast.
[You have gained four stat points!]
"Add two to strength and agility," Lucius mumbled, letting out a breath.
He felt the rush of strength in him; although it wasn't as serious when he started, it was a pleasant feeling.
He pulled his arm back, targeting a silhouette in the cave beyond. He threw it, causing it to whistle like an arrow.
The next second he lifted another spear and threw it forward, and again, and again.
A number of spears descended on the figure that seemed to be moving at a quick speed.
Lucius heard a screech, signifying that the creature was still alive. But he hit it.
And a while later...
[You have slain a D class creature: Shade Knight]
[You have leveled up!]
[You have received—]
"Add all points to agility!" Lucius shouted, picking up the chipped sword from the ground before boosting forward into the other cave.
The other knights noticed him and they were charging towards him like shadows, not making a single sound.
To be honest, Lucius didn't expect that he would actually be able to take two out before the dust settled, or that dust would work at all.
Lucius stopped a little way into the cave, and then he began to run back to where he came from.
The knights chased him even faster now and dust rose with his steps; the knights followed.
Lucius looked at the entrance, seeing a rope on the ground. He slid on the ground, pulling on it.
There were scythes nailed on the wall with even more bones and as he pulled the ropes, the bottoms of the scythes were pulled, swinging their edges to the holes.
The first knight that seemed even faster than the last one was the first to feel it; the one behind it leaped backwards, and this one ran straight into the scythes.
[You have leveled up!]
[You have gained two—]
"Add all points to strength." Lucius stood up, pulling the scythes that he used to cover the hole with his hands.
As he walked towards the last shade knight, a black aura began to surround him.
Around the cave, black auras surrounded the shade knights that he killed and their strengths were being absorbed passively.
"How would I not win? You monsters have no idea the shit that I've survived." Lucius pointed at the knight with the sword, having an expression of pure rage.
"I accepted powers from someone I didn't know and I crawled out of a grave that was fucking six-foot into the ground while having human strength!"
Lucius smiled.
He was feeling a lot of things right now: joy, sadness, fear, curiosity, but mostly... rage.
A deeply rooted rage that decided to come out now.
"What do you think it takes to have such strong will to survive?!" He swung the sword around. "Hatred. This deep hatred for those who ruined me. It was so much that I can't sleep without thinking about how much I want to ruin them all and destroy their worlds. Hahaha...!"
The knight didn't react at all to Lucius' words, watching him from five meters away. It didn't matter if it understood or not, 'cause this would be the end for the shade knights.
"Now come!"
