"Who are you?" Wanda asked, sizing up Stephen Strange.
Stephen Strange replied, "I am the Sorcerer Supreme of the New York Sanctum Sanctorum, Stephen Strange. You can also call me Doctor Strange."
"Hello, Doctor Strange," Vision said, holding Wanda's hand as they stepped through the portal to stand before them. "Mr. Stark, I wonder what you've contacted us for?"
Stark said, "Let's wait until everyone is here before we discuss it."
Vision nodded slightly and led Wanda to the side.
The second portal opened to Hawkeye.
Hawkeye's pardon had been issued just half an hour ago.
Hawkeye, despite being a regular human, was an exceptional marksman and all-around skilled fighter, particularly adept with a bow and arrow, boasting a near-perfect hit rate.
Furthermore, he could fire multiple arrows in rapid succession, all with pinpoint accuracy, striking his enemies' weak points.
Given the right ranged weapons, he could provide strategic value.
After all, they weren't just facing Thanos and his Black Order this time.
If they took the initiative, they might also have to contend with his Dark Order, Chitauri soldiers, and so on.
Clearing out the fodder was the role of Hawkeye, Black Widow, and other elite fighters who were more like ordinary humans.
Although Hawkeye had some complaints about how he'd been treated, he chose to trust Stark, seeing his current approach. He quickly said goodbye to his wife and stepped through the portal to join them.
The third portal opened inside the Avengers headquarters.
Stark called on Taskmaster.
Although Taskmaster was just a slightly enhanced ordinary person, her training was mainly focused on dealing with ordinary people.
But she had once mimicked Hawkeye's abilities, possessing archery skills that were not inferior to Hawkeye's. At the same time, she also had the physical skills of Captain America, Black Widow, and others. Clearing out the mooks was naturally no problem.
The fourth, and also the last, portal opened towards Wakanda.
Actually, Peter had originally suggested calling on Ant-Man, Scott Lang.
But both Stark and Stephen Strange stopped him.
Stark held a prejudice against Scott. He thought Scott was just a thief, and Ant-Man's abilities weren't very suitable for this kind of large-scale situation.
—Peter suspected it was because the price he paid to redeem Hawkeye exceeded expectations, and he wasn't familiar with Ant-Man, so he refused to foot the bill for Ant-Man.
And Stephen Strange's reason was: "If we fail, Scott has the chance to let us try again."
Peter and Stark were both curious about this statement.
But Stephen Strange didn't explain further.
Peter guessed it might be related to the Quantum Realm, as it was a fact that Scott had once entered the Quantum Realm.
So he secretly sent a message to Dr. Foster, telling her that if the situation changed later, she should drop everything and seek help from Scott and Dr. Pym.
Dr. Foster was puzzled, but she agreed.
As the portal's light circle flashed, what appeared before everyone was a vast, primeval jungle.
"Is this Wakanda?" Stark suddenly doubted his previous guess.
Stephen Strange said, "Wakanda possesses a technology similar to virtual projection. They've enveloped the entire nation with an energy barrier. They project virtual images onto the barrier, making it appear like a primeval jungle, thus concealing themselves."
"No wonder so many satellites never discovered this nation!" Stark suddenly understood, and at the same time, he became more curious about Wakanda's technology.
An energy barrier that could cover an entire country – that was an impressive technology.
And this was just the tip of the iceberg for Wakanda.
"Come to think of it, why don't we just go directly inside the barrier?" Peter asked.
"It might not be a good idea to enter uninvited, right?" Stephen Strange said.
Peter scratched his head, "Yeah, you're right."
So, the group walked out of the portal and stood before the barrier.
Stark sighed and took out an old-fashioned phone from his pocket, dialing the only phone number saved on it.
Beep, beep, beep...
After a few rings, the call connected.
"Tony?" Captain America's voice came from the other end.
"Open the door, we're outside Wakanda," Stark said, then quickly hung up the phone as if he couldn't stand the embarrassment, shoving the old-fashioned phone back into his pocket.
Peter and Stephen Strange pretended not to notice his actions.
It was like a couple who had already broken up, but secretly kept the other person's contact information, and one day, shamelessly called them to ask for reconciliation. How embarrassing!
How much determination did the face-saving Stark have to muster to make this call?
They didn't have to wait long.
Only about ten minutes later, the "air" in front of them produced an optical distortion, which then disappeared.
A strange scene unfolded.
The surroundings were still a primitive jungle, but right in front of them, it had become an endless expanse of grassland.
It formed a very peculiar scene.
However, this should be its original appearance.
A metallic aircraft shaped like a small, prone frog quickly flew towards them. The aircraft was also enveloped in a faint light screen, presumably to block wind resistance during flight, but it might also offer some protection.
A dozen or so people were standing on the little frog aircraft.
Leading them was a handsome black man, who was also the King of Wakanda – T'Challa.
Behind him stood Captain America, Black Widow, and Falcon. In addition, there was a group of black women wearing red and gold outfits, holding short spears about 2 meters long. They looked like T'Challa's guard.
It makes sense. After all, he's the ruler of a country; having some personal guards is normal.
The little frog-shaped flyer quickly landed in front of Peter and the others. T'Challa, Captain America, and the others got out one by one.
Captain America walked over first, scanning everyone. He could tell from their gathering that something serious was happening.
"What's happened, Tony?"
"Some very bad things, things that affect the entire universe," Stark said, keeping it brief.
But just that sentence caused everyone present, except for Peter and Stephen Strange, to look over.
"Mr. Stark, welcome to Wakanda," T'Challa stepped forward. "Perhaps we should discuss this inside."
With that, he gestured for them to follow.
"Alright."
So, everyone boarded the little frog aircraft.
"Who are these people?" Captain America looked at Peter and the others, clearly not recognizing Peter.
Peter reached out and shook his hand, "I'm Spider-Man, Peter Parker. We met in Berlin."
"Young and promising."
"This is Doctor Strange, Stephen Strange. He's the Sorcerer Supreme, guarding the mysterious realms of Earth." Peter introduced these people to Captain America one by one, also taking the opportunity to get to know T'Challa and the others.
