Chapter 260 - Another Multiverse?

Spider-Man 2099's expression shifted slightly.

He immediately raised his hand, "Laina, did he just leave?"

A figure of Laina, the Spider-Man League's exclusive AI, appeared on his watch, "Yes, Mr. Miguel, he did just undergo a change. He seemed to turn into a corpse, but quickly recovered."

"Can you find where he went?" Spider-Man 2099 asked quickly.

Laina shook her head, "The signal was lost halfway. He seems to have gone to an unknown realm, one that is not only beyond current technology, but even the Web of Life seems disconnected from it."

Spider-Man 2099 was somewhat shocked.

The Web of Life is essentially the basic structure of the Multiverse. Theoretically, it exists anywhere in the Multiverse and is connected to any Parallel Universe.

Peter not being tracked by the Web of Life means there are three possibilities.

The first possibility is that he's a great being who transcends the Web of Life! Spider-Man 2099 knows that certain gods exist within the Multiverse.

Some of them are truly unbound by time, space, or even fate.

But Peter doesn't seem to fit that description, does he? Spider-Man 2099 possesses a Spider-Sense, similar to telepathy, which allows him to perceive others' mental fluctuations to a certain extent.

And in his perception, Peter's actual age should be very young, because he has a very young heart! The second possibility is that Peter's universe has been shielded by some mysterious entity! This is one of Spider-Man 2099's hypotheses. Perhaps there are some Parallel Universes in the Multiverse that are isolated or hidden for certain reasons.

Maybe there are some rare resources within it that are highly sought after in the Multiverse, or maybe there are some problems with this universe, or perhaps it's to protect this universe from threats from other Parallel Universes, and so on.

In short, there are many possibilities.

Of course, there's a third, even more outlandish possibility.

That is, Peter comes from another Multiverse! This is also one of Spider-Man 2099's conjectures.

However, this conjecture is based on Spider-Man 2099's travels through many Parallel Universes.

Through these experiences, as well as research on the Web of Life, the Multiverse, and Parallel Universes, Spider-Man 2099 has summarized some of his findings.

He believes the Multiverse is a theoretical collection of an infinite or finite number of possible universes, encompassing all that exists and could possibly exist: all space, time, matter, energy, and the physical laws and constants that describe them.

Within this broad concept of the Multiverse, there are three subcategories: the Prime Universe, Parallel Universes, and Alternate Universes.

The Prime Universe is, in theory, the core of the Multiverse. Spider-Man 2099 believes that within the many Parallel Universes, there must be a core, which possesses the most fundamental "storyline," and other universes will consciously or unconsciously follow its storyline to develop. Moreover, according to Spider-Man 2099's speculation, the Spider-Man of this Prime Universe is 95% likely to be Peter Parker!

Because in the many Parallel Universes he has experienced, the Peter Parker version of Spider-Man is the most prevalent! Parallel Universes are other universes that are extremely similar to the Prime Universe but are not exactly the same. For example, in Universe A, Peter Parker might become Spider-Man just like the Peter Parker of the Prime Universe, but the era he lives in could be prehistoric times, the Middle Ages, or even the future.

Or, in Universe B, Peter Parker might not become Spider-Man, but his friend, enemy, or a passerby might become Spider-Man due to an accident. Alternate Universes, on the other hand, are universes that have undergone some changes based on the Parallel Universes. In other words, they are variables within variables.

Of course, this is even more complex. There can be Alternate Universes of the Prime Universe, Alternate Universes of the Parallel Universes, and so on.

But this is only downward.

So, what about upward?

Does a larger concept, a larger "collection," still exist within the concept of the "Multiverse"?

In the 5th century BC, Democritus proposed the concept of "Infinite Worlds," believing that atoms move randomly in the void. Due to their rapid and chaotic movement, they collide with each other, and some merge, while others move away, forming various shapes, various possibilities, and forming "Infinite Worlds."

So, could there be a "Multiverse that exists with the Web of Life," a "Multiverse that doesn't exist with the Web of Life," or a "Multiverse that exists with other 'webs'"? Within this vast concept of Infinite Worlds, does a structure similar to the Web of Life exist, guiding the events within the Infinite Worlds? Therefore, if Peter came from another Multiverse under the Infinite Worlds in a special way, it would be outside the Web of Life's jurisdiction, which could explain why he couldn't track Peter using his technology!

Buzz—

Peter's Spider-Sense suddenly triggered.

He looked up at the sky sharply.

They saw a massive void appearing in the sky above them.

The void shimmered with a blinding white light.

Peter squinted, activating the blackout mode on his suit's lenses to make out what was within the white glow.

A colossal, spider-shaped object was slowly emerging from the white light.

"Is that a spider?" Miles asked, shading his eyes as he looked over.

"No, it's a spider-shaped machine... Your thing, right?" Peter turned to Spider-Man 2099.

Ever since Spider-Man 2099 had arrived, he'd asked his AI assistant a few questions and then fallen into a long silence.

This guy really wasn't like Spider-Man; he barely spoke.

Peter silently grumbled to himself.

Click.

The massive Spider-Ship landed on the broken bridge, its eight long mechanical spider legs moving quickly, soon reaching the bridge surface.

Then, a hatch opened on the underside of the Spider-Ship, revealing more than a dozen figures inside.

All of them were people in Spider-Suits!

"Whoa, so many Spider-Men, do you guys like to party? A Spider-Man-only party," Peter walked forward, his tone very relaxed, not at all feeling like a criminal.

Especially after discovering that the Spider-Man League's proud "Web of Life" technology had no effect on him whatsoever, Peter's actions became increasingly uninhibited.

Among the newly arrived Spider-Men was a Spider-Woman who was wearing a Spider-Suit but had a big belly.

The Spider-Man League's Deputy Leader, Spider-Woman: Jessica Drew!

Peter had seen her in Earth-1610B, when Spider-Gwen contacted Laina via the Space Travel Watch to track Spot.

"Hi, we meet again, Mrs. Spider-Mom," Peter greeted her.
