Los Angeles, California.
There was a cafe frequented by the wealthy and the famous called Marceline in the Hollywood district. This 3-story cafe also doubled as a spot for business between the upper echelon of the country. Inside this cafe, Amadi was sitting together with Chinara and Bastion.
"Cole, what time did the Senator's party say they would arrive?"
Amadi asked while leaning back with his eyes closed.
"2:30."
"And what time is it, Cole?"
Bastion looked at his watch.
"2:31..."
Amadi opened his eyes.
"Chinara, did we become people who had to wait on politicians?"
"As far as I'm aware, it's the opposite."
Chinara sipped from a beautifully decorated porcelain cup.
"The Albrecht Clan don't wait on anyone."
The three stood up.
"Alright, Cole, blow up the Senator's house later."
Amadi stretched his body while Bastion narrowed his eyes at him.
"Isn't that a bit extreme?"
"Not if we blow it up when nobody is there. I think it would be—"
"We're not blowing up his house."
Chinara cut him off. Bastion nodded in agreement.
"Drain his bank accounts instead. That way, we can get paid for the time we spent waiting."
Bastion sighed and shook his head. His phone began ringing after.
"If that's the Senator, tell him he wasted our time."
Amadi spoke with a dismissive tone.
"It's an unknown number."
He turned towards Cole after he answered.
"Is that a new phone? What happened to your Noble Corp phone?"
"This is it."
Chinara and Amadi looked at each other.
"Someone was able to hide their number on one of our phones?"
All three looked at the phone in silence for nearly 10 seconds before it stopped ringing. Amadi took the phone and destroyed it.
"Get a new phone when we get—"
"Excuse me, Mr. Albrecht."
A server opened the door to their booth. Amadi lifted his hand, but Chinara pushed it back down. She faced the server.
"What is it?"
"A message from Senator Harvey."
The waiter smiled.
"Sorry, I lied about working to pass the law we talked about. I was actually planning to swindle money from Noble Corp."
The three watched as the server spoke as if reciting a line from a play.
"I have committed a great sin and as retribution. I decided to take my own life."
"I see."
Amadi swung his hand and the server's head fell from his body and hit the floor.
"I hope I can be cleansed and repent in my next life."
The Server's head continued to speak.
"Someone reanimated a corpse."
Chinara stooped down and lifted the head by the hair.
"The corpse was well-preserved. This wasn't done by an amateur."
"The hell? Necromancy exists?"
Bastion showed clear disgust at the corpse.
"It's rare but yeah."
Chinara stood up still holding the head.
"However, the most they can do is use the corpse as a puppet. The soul will never return to the body."
Amadi looked at the body that was still standing. He snapped his fingers and its shirt was burned off revealing its bare chest.
"I figured as much."
Amadi clicked his tongue in an annoyance. On the headless body was an insignia of Celtic Knots in the form of a butterfly. This mark visibly irritated Amadi.
"Those goddamn fanatics."
Location Unknown.
Kismet was gathered in a room sitting in chairs while facing a monitor.
"Alright, let the briefing begin."
Rui's voice resounded in the room. The monitor powered up and showed the GHF's insignia of black and white stars.
"As stated earlier, there's been a huge spike of Villainous activities across the globe. It's not just the usual Villains, there's a wave of new faces appearing out of nowhere replacing those we defeated. It's like dealing with a roach infestation."
The monitor displayed footage of Heroes clashing with Villains.
"Unfortunately for us, it would seem Sinvula keeping the Villains in check for years have made us slack off. The GHF isn't prepared to take on so many threats globally at once."
"We don't have enough Heroes?"
Bojana asked.
"No, we have sufficient numbers. The problem is the Villains are too enthusiastic. They are going beyond the levels they've shown in the past. They've become too unpredictable and too determined. It takes three times the effort to defeat one of them now. Not a lot of Heroes have what it takes to fight people like that over and over again."
"It sounds like to me the Villains are simply of a better quality than the Heroes."
Kira spoke up.
"It boils down to that."
Rui let out a sigh.
"This new generation is spoiled. In our time, Heroes fought several Villains every day without rest. It was a constant bloodbath and it was normal hearing that your comrades died in battle. There was no schools or apprenticeships. We just went out there and kicked ass. Nowadays—"
"Blood Tyrant, you're rambling."
Belinha called out to her father with a frown.
"Ah, yeah. Sorry about that."
Rui cleared his throat.
"Anyway, this generation had the privilege of growing up in an era where Villains were oppressed by Sin Sentinel and later controlled by Sinvula. So, while they still had to risk their lives facing Villains who didn't care, they never faced anything on this level. So until the average Hero can adapt, the top Heroes will need to be more active."
"Oh, we're Top Heroes?!"
Mira asked with excitement.
"Nah, you're all still greenhorns."
She deflated in her seat.
"However, you've fought against the Apex Predators of this world several times. That alone qualifies you to fight on the frontlines."
"Is that really all it takes?"
"?!"
All of Kismet flinched in unison. A new voice had entered the room. They turned to see someone dressed in a suit of armour with a blue crow insignia.
"Who the hell are you?!"
Belinha shouted.
"Ah, sorry. I still had the helmet on."
They took off the helmet and pitch-black hair with blue ends, as if representing the night and morning sky, flowed down their shoulders. The face was that of a man, yet and also resembling a woman.
"....You're a man today?"
Impactor mumbled.
"Yeah, I was attending a Buhurt competition, so I thought a male body would be more beneficial."
Mishma rested his helmet at his feet.
"....Mishma, may I ask why you are here?"
Rui's voice was calm and steady despite Mishma's sudden appearance.
"I don't really have a reason. I just found your conversation interesting."
Mishma smirked.
"You're sending these people to the frontlines because they survived against Sinvula and Alala. That's all it took for them to be treated like secret weapons?"
His smirk grew twisted.
"Your desperation is entertaining to see."
He stood up and his helmet reappeared on his head.
"Send them to the frontlines and baptise them in fire. Sinvula and Alala will enjoy their growth."
"And you?"
Belinha called out.
"Would you enjoy our growth?"
"The tragedies of man is the finest form of entertainment for the wicked."
Mishma gave a gentleman's bow.
"Good luck, Kismet."
He faded into nothing, but his voice lingered.
"I'll be watching."
Silence covered the room for nearly a minute before Impactor broke it.
"So, where are we going?"
He spoke with a relaxed tone. The monitor showed a coastal area with beautiful architecture. Rui spoke with a similar relaxed tone.
"Denmark."
In the video, an explosion erupted and the buildings were set ablaze.
"The Danish GHF Branch are calling for backup after their Villains have acquired the aid of foreign Villains to take over the country."
The monitor showed battles in coastal villages between Heroes and Villains. There were also soldiers assisting the Heroes.
"Because the situation is dire, the Danish Military stepped in and joined battles they aren't accustomed to."
"Is the military stepping in a big deal? Aren't soldiers supposed to protect the country?"
Impactor asked the twins.
"While soldiers and Heroes have similar roles, the big difference is their race."
Mira answered.
"Not all soldiers are Superhumans, Pseudo or True. However, all Heroes and Villains are. Because of this, there's an unwritten rule that all superpower-related crimes will be handled by Heroes. While normal crimes will be handled by law enforcement and the military."
"There are times when police and soldiers take down Superhuman criminals, but that's only if the criminal can be oppressed by the forces there. Criminals classified as Villains are normally too dangerous for even untrained Superhumans to handle."
Kira added.
"So I kinda fucked up when I dropped Sinvula's men at a police station…"
"That was a messed-up thing to do."
Mikel shook his head.
"We're here."
Rui spoke up again. Everyone stood, all wearing black and white armoured suits with the GHF's emblem on their shoulders, and an insignia of a crown surrounded by stars on their chests.
"This will be your global debut as the Young Sovereigns, Kismet. We had your suits specially created for this. Each one is custom-built to allow you to fight to the fullest. If you don't like the designs, they can be customised using the method we told you about earlier."
Impactor pressed the insignia on his chest and a metallic wrestling mask with the letter "I" covered his face.
"Nice."
"The insignia on your chest is Kismet's official mark. The crown is you and the stars are us."
His voice became solemn.
"Don't disgrace that insignia."
They all wore serious expressions as their hearts started to race.
"Ok."
The monitor and the seats retracted and the walls opened up. The roaring of the wind reached their ears as strong gusts hit their bodies. Before them was the open sky with nothing but clouds around them.
"Good luck, Kismet."
Rui's voice was cut. They approached the edge of the latch and looked down. Land and sea were far beneath them, and only the natural inhabitants, birds, could be seen clearly.
"Alright."
Belinha faced her team.
"Run wild, Kismet."
She jumped out and the others followed behind.
Kismet made their Global Debut!
