Davina's POV
Life was racing by and crawling at the same time. Days dragged on forever, but weeks vanished in a blink. Balancing classes and pregnancy felt like the cruelest punishment, yet somehow, it was becoming the most precious gift.
School was brutal. My feet throbbed nonstop, my back felt like someone strapped a cinder block to it, and nausea still dropped by whenever it pleased.
But I kept pushing. I had to make this work. Not just for me, but for the tiny person growing inside me.
The first time I heard my baby's heartbeat, I sobbed so hard the nurse thought something was wrong. But it wasn't fear. It was pure joy.
That sound—the steady rhythm from the little life inside me—was the most beautiful music I'd ever heard.
Everything became real in that moment. I was going to be a mother.
