I stared down at Davina, my eyes tracking the steady rise and fall of her chest. Her face had that soft, relaxed look—peaceful, with just the hint of a smile playing at her lips.
She looked so damn innocent lying there.
I should've felt like shit. Any decent guy would've had some guilt eating at him right about now—hell, even a shred of regret. But I wasn't decent, never had been, never would be.
My gaze drifted to the crimson stain on the sheets. That little spot of blood stared back at me like it was judging every choice I'd made last night.
Davina Hughes had been a virgin.
Now she wasn't.
I dragged my hand through my hair, irritation crawling under my skin. What the fuck had gotten into me?
I wasn't supposed to crave her. She was a Hughes—that name came with more baggage than I'd ever wanted to deal with.
