Chapter 56 - Prepare Bruh

The group came to the monolith of a rock, it was about 100ft tall and it poked out of the world in an angle. It looks like something you would see from a movie about a lion becoming a king. It's slanted walls made for good shade and on the other side was easy to climb so even better as a scouting point. The group began preparing for the flood, they of course split the work amongst each other.

Himmel and Winter would find any large forest and gather lumber if that said forest also had vines Himmel would contact Texan who is with Vanessa and Tyler. They are on vine duty as for food, the group didn't have to worry at all. As beast of the lands would always find them.

Himmel and Winter ventured east as they had never been that way yet and the others went west as they had also not been that way just yet. As the group left they knew they were on a timer it was 4 days until the flood, they had only a day to track as much distance as possible. Then however long it would take to gather materials and a day to get back, then they would spend the rest of the time making whatever maybe necessary.

Texan and his group were the first to move off, bidding their farewells, "I bet we're gonna find way more than you two."

"I sure as shit hope you do, there's three of you, wait make that four, take the golem I'm sure it can carry something for you" Himmel fired back as he approached Texan.

Texan immediately saw what was happening and the duo made a clapping handshake so perfect everyone was in awe, "I'm always in your ear, don't be afraid to call for help."

"Shiii, you got that lightning and crap, so like I better be able to go," Texan shouts in the air, "OOOOHHHH HIMMMELLL!!! And you should be there in 5 seconds"

The laughter was loud and the group split apart, one to the east and the other to the west. Winter was alone with Himmel, she followed him but just a few steps away. She was watching him, admiring him, "He barely became an adult, yet he's commanding me like a veteran. "I'm not really talented my ass""

"But he's right, the gods don't show mercy."

She then spoke up to him, "Do you believe in a god?"

Himmel turned around looking at winter bright blue eyes, "I haven't worshipped a god but I do believe in them. They are real."

"How are you so sure?"

"Hmph, my father worships and is blessed by the god of hunt. I personally don't worship a god and not for a particular reason."

Winter thought back to the crackles of lightning Himmel exuded, it was so fierece and powerful that she would feel safer in a storm than be his foe. "Honestly, I kinda wish you were blessed by the god of energy because atleast then it would make sense as to why you're so damn strong."

"Whose that?"

"The god of energy?"

"Yeah"

"That's just the most powerful god who has the most influence on all the elements, only a few other gods compete with him, the rest are basically peons."

Himmel then thought for a while, "So you're saying if I'm blessed by him I would get far stronger?"

"Yeah, like way stronger, you should honestly go for it. Why not right."

"Well how would I even do it, like just start shouting his name or what."

"No, but every god has their own trial that you must go through in order to be in their patron."

Himmel saw the forest off in the distance and it's plentiful lumber, "There's the wood but, what trial do I have to do?"

"Well I'm not a hardcore believer in the gods and honestly I don't know the specific details for their trials. But it has something to do with commitment." Winter then paused for a moment.

"You know, after all of this is done wanna go for a drink?" Winter blushed, a slight pink hue on her cheeks.

Himmel then turned to her and tilted his head slightly, "Well yeah, I'm sure everyone's gonna get a drink or two."

Winter faced palmed in awe in his oblivious thought process, "No, I meant like just you and me, so we could get to know each other."

Himmel coughed and stumbled, "I don't know about that, I kinda made a promise to someone already."

"Oh, I'm sorry, I probably made this really awkward." Winter scratched her head in embarrassment.

Everything was in awkward silence, making the area even more tense than it was before. Breaking the silence was Winter, "So, how is she?"

"Well, she's beautiful for one and we lived together for an entire year. She showed me her home and sat down with me to read books. Not only that she doesnt care for my looks but my personality, I don't even know to be honest. I fell for her on first sight and she reciprocated."

"You know what, that's cute." Winter hid her disappointment.

The day passed, lumber was gathered and the job was done, now they have to head back to their camp.

As the shadows of the horizon passed a bleak figure showed itself. The duo ducked into cover, this was no beast, but a group of Orcs and they are from the 4th princes faction, noticeable by their large stature and lack of armor.

"what should we do? Just let them pass?" Winter asked as Hummel began weighing the odds.

"I'm not too sure, you're still a level 3. That's three level 4s, if we fight them now we could risk being late for the flood but if we kill them now, we can guarantee their numbers will be even smaller."

"That's true, not only does their faction already have a small amount of members cutting even just one of them could leave a dent." Winter's hands began twitching.

"Ok here's the plan," Himmel said as he began a scribbling on the floor. "We have the element of surprise, I can guarantee that my ultimate will lock them down long enough to get two strikes in. I'll be honest I could at most kill just one of them."

Winter's face showed confusion, "but against those beast you easily destroyed multiple level 4s."

"Correct, but those beasts weren't strong, the only one notable was the alpha. Each of these guys are stronger than that alpha."

Winter nodded, "what am I gonna do?"

"Aim for their knee caps, if you can hit each of their knee caps they simply can't fight back." Himmel wrapped up his plan and began approaching.

They snuck in the rough bushes and waited for the perfect moment, one of the orcs yawned.

*boom*

Marks only visible to Himmel appeared over their heads, then three streaks of blue electricity struck them. Paralyzed the trio could do nothing but watch Himmel raise his palm. A blue orb of electricity appeared and struck the center orc. He fell down dead, the other two harmed immensely.

Himmel then cut at the rightward orc slicing his neck, blood came drooping out and as the electricity faded he held his gaping neck and attempted to slice at Himmel. But then he fell forward. Two arrows struck him while he couldn't feel anything, in the back of knees an arrow piercing to his bone.

The leftward orc noticed allies failure and pulled out the arrows and charged at Himmel with his large blade, Himmel used his *counter* ability to fully reflect his attack. Then an arrow hit the orcs back, he turned to look for the marksmen but found nothing. All of a sudden he couldn't see from his right eye.

Himmel had placed his axe perfectly in his eye, even if it were just level one, this precision was enough to pierce far above its level. The orc wildly swung around hoping to hit something, but he was met with his death, from below were two strikes. A slash cutting into his ribs and a churning pierce into his heart, Himmel's signature Brutal Slash.

Winter then appeared from the brush, "Wow, splendid work, now I wanna see that girl in action."

"Ha I know right, you know she's better than me at sword play."

"woah really?" Winter questioned as she began retrieving her arrows from the leftward orc.

"Ya know th-" she was cut off, Himmel was watching her and comfortable in the conversation. He let his guard down. The rightward orc loomed behind Himmel with a dagger tracing to his liver. Time stopped for Winter, her world was about to be killed.

Her hands slid in synchrony, she armed her arrow and with pure instinct she let it fly. Time truly felt slow, his dagger pierced Himmel's skin. Himmel finally noticed but even if wanted to he couldn't get away fast enough. The tip of the blade was exactly 1 millimeter away from piercing his liver.

Then the arrow finally hit, through the orcs hand making him release his grip and stopping the blade from motion. Then she shot another arrow in her flow, through his already open neck. Finally dead, she saved him.

"H-Himmel are you ok, come here let me see it." She ran to him with her potion in hand.

"I'm fine, it's ok. Just calm down." Himmel then took the blade out, noticing his flowing black blood he knew he was safe, if it were red then that would be something else.

Winter paused for a moment, "DONT TELL ME TO CALM DOWN!!"

Himmel was in shock, in a state of confusion he kept quiet, Winter didn't, "YOU ALMost died, how can you just say it's fine and tell me to calm down," Winter slowly closed the distance between the two.

she laid in his arms asleep, "Winter you overdid yourself,"

Winter has become level 4.
