I woke up a few hours later, startling myself with the thought that I had fallen asleep.
I quickly got to my feet and leaned on the window, staring outside. The car was still not there.
"What are you looking at?" As soon as I heard a voice from behind me, I jumped and turned around to see who had arrived.
I should have known from the voice that it was my mother, but I was still half asleep when I jumped off the couch.
I placed a hand on my chest and took a deep breath.
"Haven't I asked you to go and sleep in Luca's room? Why did you ask the nannies to leave?" she asked me, folding her arms across her chest and tapping her fingers on her forearm.
"Because they are my children, and you cannot just keep controlling me," I told her, looking at her in despair.
"Something tells me you are up to something. You better start talking," my mother said. Actually, no, she demanded.
