Chapter 12 - OTKE Chapter 12: From Massacre to Memory

Momonga stretched out his boneless, white hand and touched his jaw, not showing any emotion towards the massacre in the mirror.

Although he didn't plan to rescue them, Momonga was still watching the massacre, not letting go of any details.

It wasn't that he liked watching such a bloody massacre, but he was trying to understand how strong the people in this world were from this massacre.

Although his level was 100, as he had said to Mare, maybe the ordinary people in this world were also level 100, which would be very bad.

So turning a blind eye was the right thing to do. He had to be responsible for the NPCs created by his companions.

Momonga found another reason to comfort himself. Although the soldiers in the mirror didn't look like they were level 100, maybe it was just because the villagers' levels were too low, and the soldiers' levels couldn't be reflected.

Momonga switched the scene and continued to watch the villagers being massacred. Two soldiers were holding a villager's arms, and then his chest was pierced by another soldier using a long sword.

After pulling out the long sword, blood spurted out like a fountain, staining the soldier's armor red. Momonga nodded, evaluating in his heart that these soldiers didn't seem very strong.

And the "Mirror of Remote Viewing," which could be easily blocked by low-level anti-intelligence magic, was still working fine.

It seemed that the other party didn't know magic, so there was nothing to worry about. No, it was bad to judge like this.

Maybe these were just the other party's low-level soldiers. It was possible that high-level combat power was hidden or hadn't been mobilized yet.

"What do you plan to do?" Sebas asked, seeing that Ainz-sama had been observing for some time.

"Turn a blind eye. There is no value in rescuing them, no benefit to be gained," Momonga said without hesitation.

"Understood." Sebas nodded, feeling a little disappointed in his heart, but he had to strictly obey the orders of the Supreme Being.

After saying this, Momonga suddenly felt uneasy. He pretended to be nonchalant and looked at Sebas.

In his silent and serious face, Momonga seemed to see Sebas' creator, his former companion - "Touch Me".

"If you see injustice on the road, of course, you have to draw your sword to help."

Momonga remembered what "Touch Me" had said to him when they first met.

In YGGDRASIL, he was frantically hunted by human players because he was a heteromorphic race.

Just when he was about to give up on YGGDRASIL, it was Touch Me's act of drawing his sword to help that made him finally choose to stay in YGGDRASIL.

"Sigh." Momonga sighed softly. "Anyway, I have to confirm my combat abilities in this world sooner or later... Sebas!"

"Your servant is here, Ainz-sama." Sebas bowed.

"Raise Nazarick's alert level to the highest level. I'll go ahead. You help me notify Albedo, who is waiting on standby next door, to come fully armed, but she is not allowed to bring "Ginnungagap."

Then prepare a backup force. Considering the possibility of unexpected situations that would prevent me from retreating, send a few subordinates who are good at hiding or have invisibility abilities to this village."

Momonga stood up and instructed Sebas one by one.

"Understood, Ainz-sama..."

——————————————————————————————————

Hades rubbed his eyes and woke up from his sleep. He stared blankly at the ceiling, and it took him a long time to look away. He sat up in bed and looked around.

This was a room with walls made entirely of mud, but "made" was clearly inaccurate, because this was an underground space that Hades had created using magic.

After leaving the village and coming to the forest, Hades let go and began to test his skills and magic one by one. The feedback he received made him very excited.

Without exception, both the warrior's skills and the magic caster's magic could be released. He didn't stop until the sky had already lit up.

Then he felt a wave of sleepiness coming over him. Although becoming an undead could dispel this sleepiness, if he switched to human or elf, the sleepiness wouldn't disappear and would reoccupy his body.

Hades guessed that the Seed of the World Tree wouldn't bring the passive effects of the undead body to the other two race characters.

So when he used the other two race characters and consumed energy, he still needed to rest to recover.

And YGGDRASIL had a fatigue system. If the character was fatigued, it would affect the attack stats.

After coming to reality, Hades didn't know if fatigue would affect attack power, but he really felt sleepy.

Although there were accessories and rings in YGGDRASIL that could eliminate fatigue and hunger, Hades thought that those rings were not only useless but also took up the few ring slots, so he had never worn them and had thrown them in the guild's personal warehouse. Now, if he had such a ring, it would save him some trouble.

But no matter how he used the guild ring, he couldn't return to the guild base. To explain this situation, Hades thought there was only one possibility: his guild hadn't transmigrated to reality with him.

If that was the case, then it made sense that he couldn't contact the six companions who were still online before the transmigration. They hadn't transmigrated like him.

Hades didn't know if this should be considered lucky or unlucky. Although being able to obtain all the abilities in YGGDRASIL was a good experience, he also had a good life in his original world.

But thinking about these things would only add to his worries. He wouldn't be able to return to his original world for a while.

Although the undead body was convenient, if the human character's body didn't get rest, it would be fatigued when used. This feeling was very uncomfortable, so he could only rest to recover.

However, Hades didn't want to return to that village. He couldn't stand that livestock shed.

Fortunately, his elf character was a production class, so making furniture and the like was more than enough. He also had a lot of materials stored in his infinite backpack.

But when he wanted to use the materials in his backpack to make a bed for himself, he suddenly realized that this was no longer the game world, so he didn't know if his materials could be replenished in this world.

Hades, to be on the safe side, tried to use the trees in the forest as alternative materials. The item craftsman class didn't seem to lose its effect because of the different materials. He made a single bed with magical effects.

His production class had a sage class. The sage class could give the items or equipment he made a BUFF.

He had originally thought that using materials from this world to make items would invalidate the effect of the sage class.

But he was very satisfied with the current result. At least he knew that the materials in this world weren't that different from the materials in YGGDRASIL.

He just didn't know if there were any high-level materials. It seemed that he needed to go searching for them in the future.

If he could replenish materials, he could make all sorts of useful things.
