Chapter 26: A dream of the future, Dream Divination.
Na'er has a dream, a very long dream.
In that dream, her brother finally lives with her and accepts her feelings.
The two live happily together, have a child, and even reach the realm of Ultimate Douluo and create their divine positions.
A simple life, yet a fulfilling one.
This is what she simply wishes for. To be with her brother, who saved her that day and became a pillar of light in her heart.
When she looks back, she sees a young man behind her, with a smile on his face, writing something with a quill in his hands. He smiles as he thinks that his task is complete and everything is going so perfectly.
So, after closing the book in his hand, he closes his eyes and disappears from there as if no one had ever been there. Even traces of his existence have vanished.
Leaving only a lonely book on the ground.
She doesn't know him, but at this very moment, Na'er feels a pain in her chest. The pain was like losing something so precious. Something that had truly protected her all this time.
When she blinked, Na'er saw herself separated from her original body. Her perspective shifted, and Na'er could see herself living happily with Tang Wulin.
But it's not her.
It's another person inside her. Na'er didn't know why she knew this, but she could tell that the woman standing beside her brother was no longer herself.
It's like another side of herself she never knew existed. Something that would take everything away the moment she woke up.
Someone who would take away her brother.
Someone who would take away everything.
"Brother…" Na'er wanted to step closer to the two but found out she couldn't even touch them. Her body seemed ethereal and penetrated Tang Wulin.
She tried again, again and again, but none of her attempts worked.
"Why... what happened to me? Why am I in this situation?" Na'er muttered, but tears began to well up in her eyes.
She wanted to scream, but found that her body could no longer make a sound. She wanted to touch Tang Wulin and see his smile, but that smile was now directed at another self she didn't know.
Not to herself, who dedicated everything to her brother.
"Why... Why... Why... Why not me?"
Where did all of this go wrong? Why did everything turn out like this?
Tears fell from her cheeks to the ground. On this empty park bench, Na'er felt her hands no longer holding something so precious to her.
He was gone, gone from her life.
Like that man who disappeared after closing his book.
A man whose name she didn't even know.
Who is he? Why do I feel such agonizing pain in my chest?
Why did he just disappear and leave me alone?
Na'er stared blankly at the sky, unaware that Adam had already left this place.
The man's face had become so blurry that she couldn't recognize him. Na'er slowly forgot all about the man in her dream, who smiled with satisfaction and relief when he saw her happy with Tang Wulin.
Happiness when he saw my dream come true. Happiness when I smiled with Tang Wulin, even if that smile was no longer directed at him.
"Who are you???" Na'er muttered unconsciously, unable to stop her memories of that person who had disappeared. Even if it was just a dream, Na'er really didn't want to forget the man in her dream.
But to no avail, her memory slowly faded, and it couldn't be stopped.
What she knows is that there is someone whose name or face she doesn't know, is watching her from a side she doesn't know. Guarding her and monitoring her every move.
But she couldn't remember or know who that person was. All that remained of him was an old book that he apparently gave to her.
But even the book seemed out of her reach.
Na'er walked unconsciously back to her house. She looked at the house in her dream that had become her home with her brother in her dreams. The house that remained the same even after all these years had passed.
Inside the house, Lang Yue saw Na'er so sad and comforted her. She even made snacks to satisfy Na'er's stomach.
Na'er simply ate them without saying a word. She stared blankly at Lang Yue, who was nowhere to be found in her dream.
It was as if Lang Yue never existed.
"Mother, will you leave me in the future?" Na'er asked, her lips trembling as she held back tears.
"Why do you say that? Of course, Mother will always be with you," Lang Yue said softly, hugging Na'er.
A gentle embrace brought warmth to her body. Na'er could no longer hold back her tears and cried in her mother's arms.
"It's okay... everything will be okay. You don't have to be afraid that Mom will leave you."
Na'er nodded and tried to accept her mother's words. But deep in her heart, she whispered one word.
"Liar." She couldn't help but think this. For some reason, her intuition became more active than before.
After Na'er calmed down, she returned to her room, waiting for her brother to return. Today, her brother would go to Uncle Mang Tian's studio to learn about blacksmithing. And her brother would only return when dinner was almost ready.
In her room, Na'er saw some fruit appear, which she placed on the table. Something that seemed so magical appeared after she woke up.
Only three oranges remained.
Na'er stared at the three oranges in front of her, having no intention of eating them. It was as if her heart couldn't bear to eat and finish these three oranges that tasted so special.
So, she just stared at it until the sun set.
"I'm home." From outside, a voice that Na'er knew so well rang out, but she somehow felt less enthusiastic than usual. She simply turned to see Tang Wulin, who seemed so enthusiastic about explaining everything he'd experienced today.
From inside her room, Na'er looked at Tang Wulin and could see the resemblance of a handsome man, her future husband, in her dreams. He was prettier like a woman right now, but in the future, his masculine body and handsomeness would emerge while retaining his cuteness.
"Na'er, are you okay?" Tang Wulin approached Na'er, who for some reason seemed so quiet at the moment.
"No, brother. I'm fine. I'm fine." Na'er shook her head, saying softly.
It's alright.
I'm fine. My brother is still my brother.
He will never change. The dream isn't real, and I will continue to be with my brother.
Na'er flashed a cute smile and left the room with Tang Wulin.
The oranges on the table slowly moved in the night breeze through the window and rolled off the table into a hidden corner of the room.
Disappeared and ignored, as if they had never been there.
Na'er turned around and saw the empty table, as if nothing had ever been there. For some reason, her heart ached slightly, but she tried to ignore it.
Ignoring it and pretending it was all just a dream.
Not knowing what she had just experienced today and the day before was a divination. A dream divination that occurred because her spirituality was stirring within her upon gaining her first loyal follower in this world.
The power, even she didn't know, manifested in her from her will, which wanted to know what the future held. What their destinies would lead to, and whether the two of them would remain together as always.
All of this was because she stabilized herself and her status in the spirit worlds. All because she got one important thing...
Loyal followers who refer directly to 'Her' and not the silver dragon king. Her very first anchor in this world.
