Chapter 1 - prologue

The room is dark and small. Run down as if it wasn't touched it weeks. Mark, a brown haired, pale skinned, young man with a distinct pair of bright blue glasses strapped on his face that somehow stand out even if the room is pitch black, wakes up.

He then immediately proceeds to make what is probably the strangest set of grunts and noises someone would ever make while waking up. Not exactly because something important is happening, but because he's trying to sing like he's in some kind of musical. Eventually he decides to stand up, put on some jeans and a shirt of a band that he's never heard of in his life and look out the window only to find what he could never imagine...

Two of his friends standing outside his window with packages in their hands. Smashing the doorknob like crazy. He instantly reacts by opening said window and shouting as hard as he can: "MY BIRTHDAY IS IN FIVE WEEKS!" A young, blonde girl wearing a dress with a flower design that his grandmother might find appealing, responds: "THESE ARE FOR ANGELA, DUMBASS! NOW WAKE UP! YOU PROMISED YOU'D SIT DOWN WITH US TO STUDY REMEMBER?"

The other friend, a boy with poorly dyed blue hair and a shirt of what seems to be a modern video game only he would know, chuckles to himself and eventually manages to form the words:"Don't worry, you'll get some actual good glasses from me another time!" Mark didn't seem to hear it, as he was already going down the stairs and opening the door.

Noticing his friends are chuckling while glancing at his hair, he says:"Hey, look I just woke up! You know my hair is always messy in the morning!" The girl responds almost immdiately: "You know it's not morning right?" She shows Mark the time with her phone, exactly 5 minutes after 12. Mark responds: "Oh come on Sarah! That's almost morning, right?" The blue haired boy intercepts:"I don't think that matters when the library is closed." Mark looks at him confused for a few seconds only to respond with:"Oh yea, forgot they close early on fridays. So... Jordan! have any idea where to go study?" Sarah immediately notices that she's being excluded and says:"Hey! Why don't I get to bring up something?"

Mark looks at her and responds:"Because I know you secretly want to sneak into the library again."

"Haha! True. We even talked about it on the way here!" Jordan says. "What we were planning to do is wake you up on this time, and then study at angela's house, cause we need to deliver some packages that that dumbass shipped to OUR homes."

"Sounds clear then. Let's go." Mark immediately starts walking. He knows he has to, because his pace is extremely slow. In fact, not even a few seconds after mark seemed to gain speed, Jordan catched up and Sarah was already halfway to him.

The streets are empty, almost too empty. Jordan and Sarah don't see these streets often, but Mark knows that there is usually supposed to be a stray cat or an old lady walking somewhere. Today however, there seems to be nothing of the sort. The only sounds Mark can hear are the footsteps of him and his friends and a light breeze. "Hey Mark! Can you still keep up?" Jordan says, not even checking how far he is. "You know he can't, Jorda-" Sarah looks back at Mark. And sees that the sky behind him turned into a bright red. Mark starts to notice that something is up and looks behind him. The sky slowly gets covered in that bright red untill there's no more blue to be seen. They all pause for a moment, untill suddenly their vissions get completely blocked by an overwhelming flash of colors untill they can't see anything but that. The houses, the streets, nothing can be seen. Except just one pair of bright, blue glasses. Noticable for just a few seconds untill even that...

Is gone.
