On the ground was a standard military Base, with complete barracks, field training areas, and garrison areas, large enough to accommodate an army of ten thousand.
Various combat equipment was displayed in the Base, looking so neat, though it would have been better without the verdant Gamma Rays.
"Looks like our army friends have cooked up something incredible," Hawkeye said, transferring the camera footage to the screen inside the cabin.
Dr. Banner quickly adjusted his glasses upon seeing this; it was the second time he had witnessed Gamma Ray radiation of such intensity. The last time he saw a similar scene was on the day Hulk was born.
"Listen to me, if Gamma Ray radiation of this magnitude appears, it means there's an unbelievable monster inside."
"Then how do we save them?" Captain America asked Dr. Banner.
"We must first destroy the source of the Gamma Rays. After the Gamma Rays recede, then we can try to rescue the survivors. The longer we delay, the harder it will be to save them," Dr. Banner said earnestly. "Also, try to minimize the increase of Gamma Rays, or the radiated area will expand."
After hearing Dr. Banner's advice, Captain America nodded, "Then our primary combat objective is to destroy the source of the Gamma Rays, and when we encounter victims, try to rescue them."
What a pity, I still wanted to test what special effects the Gamma Monster and Inferno Booster combination could produce… Eller thought to himself.
According to Dr. Banner, using too much Gamma Ray-infused power here would lead to bad consequences. Since the authority figure said so, Eller didn't want to create a 'wild father' for himself out of nowhere.
"Does anyone else have any opinions?" Out of respect, Captain America asked for opinions from those around him.
"How could we have any opinions, Captain?" Tony quipped while already standing by the cabin door. "Let's just finish this fight quickly, I'm a bit sleepy."
"Agent Barton, open the cabin door."
At Captain America's command, Hawkeye opened the cabin door. Tony flew out first, followed closely by Thor. Captain America tried to hand a parachute pack to Banner and Eller, but both refused.
"No need, Captain, I don't need such a thing."
With that, Banner leaped directly. Sensing something, Hulk took over his body. His slender frame instantly swelled, tearing his clothes, leaving only a pair of highly elastic jeans. Hulk roared as he plummeted towards the ground.
"Superhero landing, here I come!" Eller smiled slightly, then adjusted his posture and descended towards the ground.
Looking at his teammates, each with their unique way of descending, Captain America felt exhausted. At that moment, Black Widow handed him a fast-roping pack.
"Let's go, Captain. Barton will be our eyes in the sky."
"Then let's go too."
Captain America replied while putting on the parachute pack, then fast-roped down with Black Widow.
Boom!
With a loud bang, Eller landed in a single-knee kneeling position. He supported his body with his left hand, then slowly and calmly stood up.
"This move really hurts the knees," Eller said as he drew the Magnum Shooter 40X from his waist. The surrounding green Gamma Rays greatly affected visibility.
Tony, Thor, and Hulk had already landed. Captain America and Black Widow were also about to land. Before the fight began, Thor was even chatting with Hulk.
"Wow, a strong giant!" Thor praised Hulk's physique with an admiring tone.
Hulk, who previously would always get hit by a Rocket whenever he appeared, was somewhat puzzled by the sudden praise.
"Are you praising Hulk?"
"A strong warrior certainly deserves praise!" Thor said, thinking like an Asgardian.
Upon hearing this, Hulk's face broke into a sweet smile, revealing eight perfectly aligned teeth, "Hulk likes you, blondie."
"I praise you, and this is how you treat me?" Thor made a bitter face.
At that moment, Captain America and Black Widow also landed steadily, and they removed their parachute packs.
"Barton, tell me what you can see from above," Captain America said, putting his finger to his ear and asking Hawkeye on the communication channel.
"A group of deformed monsters are advancing towards your position. Their speed is slow, but you still need to be careful."
As Hawkeye's voice faded, several members with better eyesight had already spotted the distorted figures.
Among those figures, there were no two alike. Their skin colors covered the entire visible spectrum, and their body shapes were stranger than the last. Some had bulging eyes, some were left with only one eye, some had arms thicker than their entire body, and some had legs longer than bamboo poles.
This scene could certainly be called a night parade of a hundred demons. Eller held his gun in his right hand, and the barrel on his left arm rotated, already prepared for large-scale combat.
"Jarvis, quickly scan this area. I need the structural map of this Base," Tony said to Jarvis while aiming at the monsters born from the Gamma Rays.
"Under…stood, sir."
Perhaps due to the Gamma Ray interference, Jarvis's connection to the armor was a bit unstable, but it was still usable.
"Captain, give the order," Black Widow said, flicking her arms. Her bracelet-style weapon, Widow's Sting, was adjusted to high-power mode.
"Avengers, assemble!"
With Captain America's command, the others immediately sprang into action.
Hulk roared and charged at the Gamma Monsters. Thor raised his divine hammer, and the power of thunder transformed into an enraged dragon, sweeping across the battlefield. Eller and Tony provided long-range support from the rear, preventing others from being ambushed by the monsters.
Captain America and Black Widow utilized their agility, moving through the hordes of monsters. Even if these monsters were several times stronger than them, they could dodge with their experience and reflexes, and counterattack with their weapons.
Captain America's shield was made of Vibranium, capable of absorbing kinetic energy, heat, and other energy, and reflecting it back. In this environment, he was like a fish in Water.
As for Black Widow… the movements of these monsters seemed slower than an eighty-year-old woman in her eyes.
Boom—
Thor slammed his hammer down, sparks flying everywhere. Carried away by the excitement, he directly shouted at the monster horde.
"Is that all you've got?"
Rumble—
No sooner had Thor's words fallen than a series of loud thuds echoed from underground. The next moment, the earth cracked open, and a dark green figure entered everyone's sight.
"Thor, what you wanted is here," Eller said to Thor.
A giant Shadow enveloped Thor. A hint of seriousness appeared on his handsome face, "This is my opponent."
Tony looked at the figure, then at Hulk, and said, "Uh… big guy, do you have a brother?"
"That is not Hulk," Hulk said, enunciating each word.
The monster that appeared before them was green all over, just like Hulk, but much uglier. Its facial features were asymmetrical, its skull strangely protruded, and it was wearing a pair of military pants.
