Chapter 252 - I Have a Heart of Justice

Though the shield was different, it looked exactly like the original, as it had accompanied Steve through those war-torn years.

After combining the Uru metal from the divine hammer and the Genesis Power, the energy source for this nano-armor no longer necessarily had to be the Ark Reactor; electricity and Steve's own bio-energy could also power the armor.

"You're Iron Captain now, Steve," Eller joked.

"Let's go, my friend, let us defeat Red Skull and his minions once again."

Steve's voice, muffled through the mask, sounded even more resolute.

...

Some time later, outside New York City, in an air-raid shelter built during the Cold War, thousands of people lived.

Before HYDRA advanced its main forces into New York City, some people still managed to escape and gathered in this air-raid shelter.

There were many similar situations across America.

However, as time went on, supplies in the air-raid shelter became increasingly scarce, and the internal situation grew worse.

The person managing this air-raid shelter was Eller's old neighbor, Uncle Ben Parker. To ensure everyone lived a little better, this white-haired old man looked even more haggard. The scarcity of supplies in the shelter made him look thinner, his back was hunched, and his eyelids drooped.

"Ben, you need to rest," Mei, who also looked much more haggard, advised.

Uncle Ben shook his head and replied, "It's alright, Mei. How are the children? They are our future; we must ensure their health."

"The children are fine," Mei said worriedly, "but if this continues, I'm afraid everyone will lose their will to resist…"

As supplies dwindled and the time spent in the air-raid shelter grew longer, the morale of the people inside the shelter became increasingly fragmented.

"Sigh…" Uncle Ben felt a deep sense of helplessness.

The sudden appearance of HYDRA was too powerful; ordinary people like them had no chance to resist.

Despair seemed to drain Uncle Ben's last bit of strength, and just then, a familiar voice rang in Uncle Ben's ears.

"Don't lose heart, Uncle Ben, everything will get better." A gentle White light brightened the room, and the next moment, Eller and Steve appeared in the room.

"Eller?" Uncle Ben's eyes widened in surprise. He looked at his former neighbor and realized something: this young man, not yet thirty, might have gained superpowers.

"I'm here to help you," Eller smiled slightly. With a flick of his right hand, he used the Genesis Power to create clean bottled Water and bread.

Mei's eyes widened in disbelief, "Is this real Water and food?"

"I believe Eller wouldn't lie to us." Uncle Ben took the Water and bread, then began to eat and drink.

After a few bites, Uncle Ben stopped, sighing with emotion, and said somewhat incoherently:

"This is great, we are saved."

"Slow down, I still have a lot of supplies," Eller advised.

Although Uncle Ben didn't quite understand why Eller suddenly appeared before him and displayed superpowers, he knew that this young man would be key to overthrowing HYDRA.

"You must go and help others. My old life isn't worth your waste." Uncle Ben had always been a selfless good person, which is why he raised Peter, such an enthusiastic young man.

But Eller wouldn't give up on such a good person. He maintained his smile and continued to say:

"Don't worry, Uncle Ben, we won't abandon any good person. Gather everyone in this air-raid shelter; we are going to ignite the Fire of resistance."

"Ignite the Fire of resistance? Good, I'll have everyone assemble in the tunnel right away!"

Some time later, the refugees in the air-raid shelter gathered on both sides of the corridor, thousands of people, forming a very long line.

"Is something happening?"

"They're not going to announce another reduction in food rations, are they?"

"Is HYDRA going to attack?"

The refugees were in a state of panic, fearing HYDRA's brutal methods, spending their days hiding in the air-raid shelter, eroding their spirits and bodies.

And in this situation, a strong, resonant voice echoed through the tunnel. The enclosed space naturally amplified the sound, allowing everyone to hear.

"America is now occupied by thieves, the people are suffering, and the outside world is full of crises. I remember once responding to the call without hesitation, and now, I realize I can do more, but to resolve this crisis, more strength is needed. I need everyone to help me."

The refugees looked in the direction of the voice and saw a figure in red and blue armor, with a star-spangled round shield on his back, slowly moving through the crowd.

Steve was not wearing his helmet, and as he met the gaze of the people, a middle-aged man quickly recognized Steve.

"You are Captain America Steve Rogers!" The middle-aged man's face showed hope.

"Is he really Captain America from the Avengers?"

"That legendary warrior? He's not dead?"

"Could it be that the Avengers were not completely wiped out?"

"This is great, we are saved!"

Fortunately, Red Skull did not continuously use the image of 'Captain America'; this image, a paragon of the America dream, remained untainted, which is why the public deeply admired Captain America.

Steve's appearance caused some commotion. The refugees seemed to see hope. Amidst the clamor, Steve raised his right fist and loudly declared:

"I, Captain America, Steve Rogers, solemnly declare here that I will defeat HYDRA again and forge a newer, better America. My actions are not out of self-interest but driven by a righteous heart. I will dedicate everything, including my life, for everyone present. Please give me your strength!"

Steve's rallying power was indeed strong. After a passionate speech, he immediately garnered a resounding response.

"Captain, we are willing!"

The air-raid shelter, which had been filled with pessimism, suddenly became high-spirited. And at this moment, Eller also played his little trick.

In an open area of the air-raid shelter, countless fresh canned goods, bottled Water, and medical supplies appeared out of thin air, enough to allow these thousands of people to live luxuriously for several years.

"Oh my goodness, it's food!"

"And anti-allergy medicine and Water!"

Although the people were happy, with Steve present to maintain order, and with such an abundance of supplies that everyone could receive some, no stampede occurred.

Eller stood in the Shadow, observing this scene thoughtfully, but he noticed two familiar faces in the crowd.

"J. Jonah Jameson of the Daily Bugle, and… Mr. President?!"
