Nightfall Sword did not land on Chthon, whose figure became illusory, evading the blow.
Subsequently, the darkhold appeared in Chthon's hand, and dark magic power spread around, constructing a temporary dimension based on reality.
A massive mountain, seemingly alive, rose from the ground; its jagged rock walls breathed, and each rise and fall seeped out purplish-black viscous blood, like the alveoli of some Titan beast.
Chthon sat on a throne made of stark White bones, strands of thread wrapped around his fingertips—those were the fates of those who had once perused the darkhold, and if one listened closely, there were cries like those of infants.
He chuckled, and fine lines appeared in the sky, like shattered glass.
This was Chthon's 'domain,' the concretization of his divine power; everything within this domain was subject to Chthon's control, and to contend with it, one needed equivalent power.
"Domain Expansion: Death Game," Eller easily recited, and Genesis Power formed a modern urban domain like an iron jungle.
In Doom's Edge form, Eller's Genesis Power might not be as strong as when using Propulsion Engine MK9, but it was sufficient to construct a 'domain' based on the real World.
The two 'domains' collided, and a purplish-black tide of blood poured into the iron jungle, as skyscrapers appeared on the towering mountains.
Eller did not speak; Nightfall Sword hung low, its blade touching the purplish-black mud, and in an instant, countless human faces emerged from the swamp—these were all Chthon's defeated foes.
Each face represented a segment of experience, seemingly using their own experiences to caution Eller against taking risks.
But Eller was unmoved; the sword's hum cut through the tragic experiences, and ice-crystal-like cracks blossomed along Duke's path of advance, as if space itself feared this powerful knight.
Chthon had learned about Eller's life from Whitehall; he flicked his finger, and a female figure appeared beside Eller.
"My child, do you not recognize me?" the woman smiled, tilting her head, and black blood flowed from her eye sockets.
Seeing this, Eller finally spoke, his voice carrying scorching heat, "I didn't expect the ancient God of dark magic to steal others' memories."
After he finished speaking, the sword light flashed, and the afterimage formed by dark magic power was shattered by Eller's blade; it was then that Chthon finally stood up.
The sky began to shake, and specks of light fell from it, but they were not meteors, but pages of a book.
Each page represented a top-tier spell, and each spell could claim tens of thousands of lives.
Eller felt immense pressure, and his response was…
[Doom's Edge: Decisive Victory!]
The floating blades combined on Nightfall Sword, making the sharp sword even larger, and black-gold light flowed like lava in the connecting seams.
Eller raised the Nightfall Greatsword high; this greatsword had become as dazzling as a supernova, and its blade was in a burning state.
Boom—
The downward swing of the greatsword collided with the dark magic forbidden spell, and a black-gold torrent swallowed the forbidden spell pages, rapidly destroying the space.
Both domains began to collapse simultaneously, and countless fragments swirled around Eller and Chthon.
The confrontation between the God of dark magic and Doom's Edge lasted only an instant; the clash of countless forbidden spells and 'Doom's Edge: Decisive Victory' caused the entire space to collapse in an instant, returning the two to the real World.
Wisps of black smoke wafted from the armor of lament, and Nightfall Sword was pressed against Chthon's throat.
"Although not as good as the fellow who drove me out of Earth, as a mere God Slayer, you are barely qualified."
After saying that, Chthon's figure dissipated into a wisp of black smoke, and his voice came from all directions.
"Next time we meet, I will use your head as a sacrifice to break that girl's mental defenses."
Eller did not heed Chthon's words.
The esteemed God of dark magic did not use his full power, and Eller also did not use all of his strength.
"Annoying fellow." Eller glanced in the direction Chthon disappeared, then left the place; he still had to continue searching for 'friends'.
And just as Eller took a step, he heard a voice that somewhat surprised him.
"Eller!"
Eller instantly recognized the voice belonged to Wanda; he turned to look, only to see Wanda, simply dressed, running towards him.
Upon seeing her long-unseen lover, Wanda directly threw herself into Eller's embrace, exclaiming with emotion:
"I almost thought I wouldn't see you again."
"How could that be? I am the strongest," Eller gently stroked Wanda's hair.
Just as the two were enjoying their reunion, a somewhat ill-timed voice spoke up.
"Cough, cough, there's still someone here."
The voice was identical to Wanda's, but the tone was deeper; Eller, somewhat puzzled, separated from Wanda and asked his beloved:
"Was that you speaking just now?"
"It's not entirely someone else," Wanda said with some embarrassment, then explained what had happened.
After hearing Wanda's explanation, Eller understood what was going on.
On the day Red Skull ascended to godhood, the Celestial Convergence's disturbance caused a parallel Universe's Wanda, who was chasing someone, to arrive here and share a body with the Wanda Eller knew.
"One mind, one body… I hope you don't turn into a dozens-of-meters-tall magic giant," Eller casually quipped.
One of Wanda's eyes turned red, and Witch Wanda looked at Eller, asking, "Does Tony Stark in your Universe not have the idea of creating Ultron? Ultron is an ultimate artificial intelligence, and he considers it a program that can protect Earth."
Witch Wanda urgently wanted to know some things; she was afraid that people in this Universe wouldn't know what Ultron was, so she specifically added what she knew about Ultron's creator and his research purpose.
Eller's face showed a knowing smile; he ambiguously said, "I gave Tony a better subject, he won't be researching artificial intelligence anymore."
"Is that so…" Witch Wanda said with some disappointment.
Seeing this, Eller, understanding what Witch Wanda had gone through, quickly changed the subject and said to both of them:
"Parallel Universes are similar but not identical; perhaps this lady's experiences and what she went through will not happen here."
Witch Wanda somewhat agreed with this, after all, Spider-Man in her Universe didn't debut so early, and it wasn't Supergiant who attacked Earth with the Chitauri, but Thor's good brother Loki.
HYDRA's power wasn't this strong either, and the way her own abilities awakened was also different.
"You're right…" Witch Wanda agreed.
Hearing this, Eller smiled slightly, "As for now, our most important task is to defeat HYDRA first and restore peace to this World."
