"What did this old man just say now?"
"Are my ears deceiving me? Did he say we're gods?"
"Is this a prank or what? where are the cameras?"
"Am I dreaming? Are demons of hell playing with my mind?"
"What's going on?"
The void expanse was in uproar as the mumurs and whispers of the dead souls spread across the realm.
Kyle retained his composure; he listened, but he chose not to talk. He needed to understand what this old-looking figure was talking about.
The elderly man draped in a black suit was patient as he listened to the murmurs, gently stroking his beard with a lopsided grin spread across his lips.
Kyle's gaze was fixed on this old man, without seconds. The entirety of the void expanse became deathly silent.
As a result of the elderly man's single-handed wave. He exhaled softly "I understand your situation"
"Y'all are wondering souls trapped with nowhere to go, no heaven nor hell is ready to accept your souls." His calm voice echoed through the realm.
The void expanse remained silent, they listened as he continued: "Just like I said, the gates of the afterlife are closed"
"You've been brought into this void to complete a simple task" The elderly man's brows furrowed as he paused.
His lips twitched for a second "God Game"
Kyle gulped. He felt intense pressure, but he wasn't the only one. Everyone else in this void expanse felt this intense pressure.
The elderly man continued "Once this meeting is over, everyone will be transported into this newly born cosmos"
"A dimension with only a thousand years of existence. Y'all will undergo the divine transmigration and will be reborn as gods"
"In this world, you'll be the representations of all cosmic matters and your divine transmigration will be determined by your cause of death, your past experiences, your desires, and your ideas"
"Each one of you has a crucial role to play in this newly born star and must abide by the laws of the Heavens," the elderly man declared.
Just then, a hand was raised, and Kyle scanned through the void expanse. He could see the figure who raised his hand.
But he was unable to know who raised his hand, only the elderly man could see everyone without restrictions.
"I have a question" the figure who raised his hand voiced out. Everyone's attention returned to the elderly man as he gently stroked his beards.
"Go on," the elderly man voiced out. The figure gently coughed, "Sorry for interrupting your speech, but what exactly is the God Game?"
The question was asked and for a few minutes, silence reigned absolutely.
A chuckle escaped the lips of the elderly looking man, "The God Game, huh?" He exhaled.
"Every hundred years following the Celestial Godly Calendar. The restrictions that barred gods from directly battling each other will be removed"
"And during the duration of the God Game. When gods die, they'll be replaced automatically by a wandering soul"
"The killer will be allowed to convert the fortunes of the deceased god to strengthen himself and survive the next God Game"
While the elderly man explained, no one cared to talk. Everyone felt intense pressure.
While they'll be allowed to become gods, they'll also be thrown into a game where they're permitted to kill each other.
The elderly man could sense the fear in the hearts of these wandering souls, but he wasn't concerned.
He continued "I understand this is too much for you guys but even the universe must abide by the rules made to balance the world"
"For this star to prosper, the God Game was created to weed out the weaklings and bring forth those with the strongest wills" The elderly man sighed.
"But the God Game isn't just about killing the weaker gods, if no god dies during a God Game…." The elderly man paused as he scanned through everyone's tensed expressions. "It proved your resolve to survive," He continued.
"Just like this Star exists, countless Star exists as well. The God Game is a challenge created that involves other stars as well"
"It's a tournament of gods, although I cannot go deeper and can only let you guys understand it true experience"
"In the God Game. There can only be one winner and this winner can only choose from these three special rewards"
While others were tense, Kyle had already controlled himself. This time, he's curious.
If this God Game involved other stars and these stars contain their own gods, then the rewards must be great, right?
He couldn't help but wonder.
Just the holographic screen spawned right beside the elderly man. "This is….." Kyle's eyes shone with brilliant light.
He was left dumbstruck.
The three rewards as listed were.
1. Eternal Life
2. Return to the Winner's original world.
3. A Single Wish
This reward caused an uproar in the void expanse. The elderly man couldn't help but smile.
This reward is truly tempting. After the old man explained, everyone realized that even if they became gods.
They could still die, but a chance at Eternal Life was very appealing to their eyes. Who doesn't want Eternal Life?
Even those who claim eternal life is torture and punishment to oneself, if they saw such an opportunity.
They would grasp onto it with their last breath, the second option was the return to their past world.
But the question was, would they return as gods or would this be stripped from them as they return?
Even Kyle didn't find it amusing, although he lived quite the good life back then and had hundreds of women flocking him.
In the end, he paid dearly for his sins.
Lust killed him.
If there's a chance, a path to becoming a god. He will abandon anything that he had in his past life.
And the third option was also tempting.
A single wish.
If they wished for anything, that wish would be answered without a doubt. But Eternal Life is more appealing to everyone's eyes.
The elderly man patiently waited for the wandering souls to download all this information before speaking.
He only hinted at the truth of the God Game. He's in no position to give them the full truth.
The rewards of the God Game are just too magnanimous for a tournament of gods.
He couldn't help but chuckle internally, after waiting patiently for five minutes. He decided to speak, "Time's up," He declared.
"My role here has been completed and what happens next will be determined by your resolve to survive"
"While mortals have no control over their own fates. Gods have been given a chance to bend their own fates"
"But the will of existence is the principal of balance… There are fates not even gods can evade." His eyes flickered.
[Divine Transmigration Alert!]
Just as the elderly man was done talking, a systematic voice rang out in the hearts of every wandering soul present in the void expanse.
Everyone fell into deep slumber, their consciousness slumbers away and all they could see was absolute darkness.
[Divine Transmigration Phase has begun!]
