Chapter 21 - Sure, we fight

Alex stepped out.

Put on a mask.

Pulled out a spray bottle from his bag.

Started spraying at the Class 1 guys' faces.

Class 9 people backed away several meters when they saw what he was doing.

Watching him perform.

A few Class 1 guys frowned.

"What are you doing?"

The blonde guy got sprayed in the face.

He sniffed.

No smell.

"What is this stuff?"

Alex didn't say anything.

Kept spraying.

Made sure everyone got hit.

Including Mr. Zhang.

Mr. Zhang pushed his glasses.

"Student, what are you doing?"

Alex put down the spray bottle.

Clapped his hands.

"That's fermented stinky tofu water."

He smiled.

"No smell right now."

Paused.

"But when you get home..."

He shrugged.

"Full body stink. Nausea. Maybe puking."

"And it won't wash off."

"At least three days to fade."

The blonde guy's face changed.

"What?!"

The other Class 1 students panicked.

"What did you say?"

"Stinky tofu water?"

"Won't wash off?!"

Mr. Zhang's face turned green too.

"You... you dare—"

Alex smiled even brighter.

"What's there not to dare?"

He looked at Mr. Zhang.

"You gonna bite me?"

Paused.

"Can you even beat me?"

A few Class 1 students stepped back.

Alex was one of the few grade 10s in school.

Yeah, just a slime.

But still grade 10!

A whole major tier difference.

They couldn't really compete.

The blonde guy gritted his teeth.

"Alex, you're really sneaky and disgusting!"

He pointed at Alex.

"Just like Rex said!"

Alex looked him over.

"You're as ugly as Rex."

The others laughed mockingly.

"Does looks matter more than strength and background?"

"We're all geniuses!"

"Can you compare?"

Alex looked at the other few.

"You guys are even uglier than him."

Got them all red-faced on the spot.

"You—!"

"What did you say?!"

Mr. Zhang's face went dark.

"Alex, what exactly do you want?"

He pushed his glasses.

"If you won't accept the challenge, get lost!"

Alex smiled.

"Of course I accept."

He looked at the Class 1 guys.

"Like we said, 50 versus 5."

"Bet all the spirit stones."

He paused.

"How about it?"

Class 9 students all tried to stop him.

"Alex!"

"You can't!"

"Even if you can beat one or two, we can't handle the other three!"

"Our contract beasts don't even have attack abilities right now!"

Alex just smiled.

"I got my ways."

Other side.

The Class 1 guys talked it over.

The blonde guy Ethan looked at Alex.

"Let's do it!"

He sneered.

"No way we can lose anyway!"

He turned to the others.

"50 people's spirit stone fragments, even if each person only has 0.05..."

"Together that's 2.5 spirit stones!"

"And we just gotta move our fingers to win!"

The others laughed too.

"Yeah!"

"Spirit stones delivered to our door!"

Mr. Zhang sneered too.

"Overestimating yourself."

He looked at Alex.

"Young man, being too arrogant isn't good."

Ms. Chen was worried.

She looked at the Class 9 students.

These kids already have so few cultivation resources...

If they lose this bet too...

She bit her lip.

"Alex..."

She wanted to stop him.

But Alex was already walking toward the field.

"Let's go."

He looked back at Class 9 students.

"Trust me."

Everyone arrived at the battle arena.

The crowd was already packed.

Students from Class 10 to Class 1 all there.

"Look look!"

"Alex is challenging Class 1!"

"He wants to take on five by himself? Those Class 9 guys have zero combat power!"

"Dead, he's dead meat."

Rex stood in the crowd.

Face still a bit pale.

Just got his stomach pumped.

But seeing Alex, his eyes were shining.

"This time..."

He clenched his fist.

"Gotta make him lose even his underwear!"

He turned to his lackey.

"Go, tell my brother to raise the stakes."

The lackey nodded, ran over.

Arena center.

The blonde guy Ethan stood there.

Heard what the lackey said.

He smiled.

"Good."

He turned to the Class 9 people.

"Listen up!"

He said loudly.

"We're not just betting this week's spirit stones!"

He raised his hand.

"We're betting this whole month's!"

Class 9 people's faces went white instantly.

"What?"

"A month?"

"We're screwed..."

Someone grabbed Alex's sleeve.

"Alex... maybe we should just forget it..."

Voice shaking.

"Even if we pay that money, we can keep some..."

"Yeah, a month is too much..."

"Our families..."

Alex waved them off.

"Not big enough stakes."

He walked forward.

Smiling brightly.

"I'll sponsor 1 million bucks myself!"

The whole arena went quiet.

One second.

Then—

"What?!"

"1 million?!"

"What did he say?!"

Alex looked at Ethan.

"That's 100 spirit stones."

He paused.

"You guys dare to accept?"

Ethan froze.

Looked at his classmates.

"100 spirit stones..."

He swallowed.

"We..."

Another student whispered:

"That amount... we can't gather it in time..."

"Maybe..."

Someone in the crowd suddenly shouted:

"You don't dare?"

"Class 1's scared?"

"Hahaha!"

Ethan's face turned red.

"Who... who's scared!"

Rex pushed through the crowd, walked up.

"I'll put in 500k."

He stared at Alex.

Eyes vicious.

"Accept or not?"

Ethan looked at Rex.

Then at Alex.

Gritted his teeth.

"Accept..."

Right then—

Bob suddenly jumped out.

"Coward!"

He pointed at Ethan and the others.

"Still hesitating!"

He shouted.

"Scared?"

Ethan's face flushed red instantly.

"Who the hell's scared!"

He slapped his chest.

"We accept!"

"1 million is 1 million!"

The crowd exploded.

"Holy shit!"

"Really betting this big?"

"Alex gone crazy..."

"Just hooked up with the school beauty and now he's floating?"

"Gonna lose even his underwear!"

"A slime thinks he can win? Dreaming!"

Ms. Chen stood at the sideline.

Hands clenched so tight.

Nails digging into her flesh.

She looked at Alex.

Her lips moved.

Wanted to say something.

But nothing came out.

Class 9 students huddled together.

Faces all looked dead.

Someone squatted down.

Head buried in his knees.

"We're done..."

"A whole month's spirit stones..."

Another girl's eyes went red.

"My mom... she's still sick..."

"That 0.05 stone every week, I was saving it to buy her medicine..."

Voice choked up.

Someone else sat on the ground.

Staring blankly.

"My family borrowed money for tuition..."

"If I lose this too..."

He covered his face.

"How do I explain..."

Right then—

Footsteps came from the side.

Principal walked over.

Next to him was a man.

Middle-aged.

Wearing a black suit.

Face expressionless.

But his aura...

Everyone felt it.

Heavy.

Like a mountain pressing down.

Principal was smiling.

Really bright.

"Mr. Wilson, this way please."

Voice very flattering.

"Our battle arena is top quality."

The man named Wilson just nodded slightly.

Didn't say anything.

His eyes swept across the arena.

Paused for a second.

His brow moved.

"Wait."

Principal froze.

"Mr. Wilson?"

Wilson stared at the center of the arena.

His eyes narrowed.

"There's... something different here."

He took a step forward.

"Stop and watch for a bit."

Principal nodded quickly.

"Of course, of course!"

Mr. Zhang rushed over immediately.

Face full of pride.

"Principal! Mr. Wilson!"

He pushed his glasses.

Pointed at Ethan.

"That's Ethan,!"

"Contract beast is a Flame Lion, A-grade!"

Voice dripping with pride.

"And these four—Lucas, Michael, Emma, David!"

"All B+ grade contract beast!"

"Thunder Hawk, Wind Wolf, Ice Fox, Earth Bear!"

He lifted his chin.

"Our Class 1's elite!"

Then he looked toward Class 9.

Sneered.

"Unlike some classes..."

"Full of trash."

Principal smiled.

Turned to Wilson.

"Mr. Wilson, this Alex guy..."

Voice became mocking.

"Triggered an X-grade portal before."

"Everyone thought he'd awaken something incredible..."

Paused.

"Ended up with a slime."

"F-grade."

He shook his head.

"And before this, he already bet everything he had with Rex."

"That bet hasn't even settled yet..."

"Now he's doing it again."

Voice full of disdain.

"Completely reckless."

"Doesn't know his place at all!"

Wilson squinted.

Didn't answer.

Just said:

"Let's watch first."
