Sasuke's eyelids fluttered open, and his dark eyes took in the concerned faces of his teammates and their allies. Sakura, who had been vigilantly watching over him, gasped in relief and threw her arms around him. "Sasuke, you're awake!" she exclaimed, tears streaming down her face.
Sasuke groaned softly and sat up, gently pushing Sakura away. "I'm fine," he assured her. Then, his thoughts turned to the battle, and he asked, "What happened to Haku?"
Kakashi stepped forward, his expression calm and reassuring. "Haku and Zabuza are both alive. I managed to give them emergency treatment. They're not going to die."
Sasuke blinked in surprise. "Haku… he didn't want to kill us, I felt it during the battle."
Sakura, relieved by Sasuke's recovery, called out to Naruto and Ryuga, "Sasuke's all right!"
Naruto's eyes lit up with joy, and he ran over to Sasuke, almost tripping over his own feet in his haste. "Sasuke, you're okay! I thought you were a goner for sure!"
Kakashi approached Zabuza, who was sitting with his back against the remains of a broken pillar, his breathing laboured but steady. "What do you want to do now?" Kakashi asked.
Zabuza looked up, his eyes filled with a mix of resignation and respect. "You can kill me and Haku if that's what you want."
Naruto stepped forward, shaking his head vigorously. "No! I don't want to kill anyone. You guys can change. You can protect the people here instead of hurting them."
Zabuza let out a rough laugh, his voice echoing across the now quiet bridge. "You're naive, kid. But maybe that's not such a bad thing." He looked at Kakashi and said, "I surrender."
Ryuga watched this exchange, a faint smile forming on his lips. Naruto's heart, so pure and filled with hope, had once again managed to change the course of events. As he took a step towards his teammates, exhaustion finally overtook him. His vision blurred, and his legs gave out.
Kakashi was quick to catch Ryuga before he hit the ground. "He's exhausted," Kakashi explained to the worried Naruto. "He used up all his chakra. He just needs to rest."
With Zabuza and Haku agreeing to redeem themselves by protecting the village, Team 7 allowed themselves a moment of relaxation. Naruto, having witnessed the complex fates of shinobi, resolved to live his life on his own terms, not letting others dictate his path.
The bridge was finally completed, a symbol of hope and resilience. Team 7 prepared to leave, their mission successfully accomplished. As they stood at the edge of the village, Tazuna and his family came to see them off.
"Thank you," Tazuna said, his voice thick with emotion. "You've saved us all."
Naruto crouched down to Inari's level, ruffling the boy's hair. "It's okay to cry, you know," he said, his own eyes glistening.
Inari, determined to be strong, shook his head. "I don't want to cry. But… you should cry too, Naruto."
Naruto chuckled, wiping his eyes. "I don't want to cry either."
As Naruto walked away, both he and Inari broke into tears, causing Sakura to roll her eyes affectionately. "You idiots," she muttered.
As Team 7 disappeared into the distance, Tazuna stood tall, looking at the completed bridge. "This bridge will be called the Great Naruto Bridge," he proclaimed, "to honour the strength and courage Naruto gave to Inari, which spread to the entire village."
On their journey back to Konoha, Team 7 walked in thoughtful silence. Each member reflected on the lessons they had learned and the bonds they had strengthened. Naruto, with his unwavering determination to protect his friends and his refusal to kill, had set an example for all of them.
Sasuke, having awakened his Sharingan and understood the value of teamwork and sacrifice, walked with a new sense of purpose. Sakura feels that she does not help enough during the mission and decides to learn medical jutsu.
And Ryuga, though still unconscious, had proven his strength and his unique abilities. His ice release technique and his unwavering spirit had made a significant impact.
As they neared Konoha, the familiar gates came into view. They were home, but their journey was far from over. Each member of Team 7 knew that more challenges awaited them, but they were ready to face them together.
Minato stood at the gates, a proud smile on his face as he watched his son and his team approach. Naruto ran ahead, waving energetically. "Dad! We're back!"
Minato greeted them warmly, his eyes filled with pride and relief. "Welcome home, everyone. You did well."
