All he wanted—
was to escape with his life.

how could Whitebeard ever let the tiger return to the mountains?
"No… don't come any closer! Please, forgive me, Father!"
Blackbeard's desperate voice cracked as he fell backward, trembling.
"Father, I know I was wrong! I swear I was wrong! I lost myself to greed and madness—I betrayed you and everyone else… but I realize it now! Please, give me another chance, Dad! We're family!"
Whitebeard's expression didn't change. His voice was low, heavy, and cold.
"Teach… I told you long ago—of all my sons, you are the only one unworthy of that name."
Blackbeard's pleading face twisted into hatred.
"Damn it! Damn it all! I already admitted I was wrong—what more do you want from me?! Sakimu's been resurrected, hasn't he? What else could you possibly be dissatisfied with?!"
His voice rose in fury, filled with frustration and unwillingness.
"Disgusting, Teach!" snarled Marco, the captain of the First Division, eyes burning with contempt.
"Even if Sachi was brought back by the power of Chairman Sugisawa Yuuto, your sins will never be washed away!"
roared Diamond Joz, captain of the Third Division.
"Wake up, you fool!"
"Prepare to go to hell!"
"Repent for your crimes when you get there!"
Bista, Rakuyo, Izo, and the other captains shouted one after another, their fury shaking the field.
"Hey—hey, Dad!" Blackbeard said with a twisted grin, panic and calculation warring in his eyes.
"Are you serious? Continuing to fight like this… it's no good for either of us! We'll just end up letting the Marines profit from it! Why don't we both step back—call it even, huh?"
The idea was absurd, almost schizophrenic in its desperation.
But the only response he received—
was Whitebeard's wordless wrath.
And the blinding gleam of his supreme blade, Cong Yun-Cutter, glinting with killing intent.
The massive snow-white naginata rose,
then came crashing down with the weight of Mount Tai.
Slash!
The blade cleaved through Blackbeard, splitting him open from shoulder to hip.
His scream was drowned out by the sound of the blade tearing flesh and bone.
Through the gaping wound, one could clearly see the bizarre internal structure of his body—
a grotesque anatomy unlike that of any normal human.
"What the hell is that!?"
"Is… is this even human?"
"Why does he have two hearts?!"
"Monster! He's an actual monster!"
Marines and pirates alike gasped in horror at the sight.
Blackbeard writhed on the ground, his voice breaking in agony.
"It hurts… it hurts so much! I'm gonna die… this time, I'm really gonna die!"
"Captain!"
"Captain Teach!"
His crewmates—Fighting Champion Burgess, Sniper Van Augur, Devil Sheriff Lafitte, and others—could no longer stand by. They prepared to rush in and save him.

Every single movement they made was already within the sights of the Whitebeard captains.
"Go ahead—just make a move."
"If you don't, we won't know who to crush first."
"If you want someone to blame, blame yourselves for following the wrong man!"
"Don't you dare interrupt while our father cleans house!"
"Blackbeard Pirates—your story ends here today!"
They closed in together, a wall of fury and vengeance—
like a pack of great white sharks circling wounded prey, drawn by the scent of blood.
