Reeze Spencer dragged the unknown man away from the bookstore and into an empty alley. The stranger kept fidgeting as he was dragged along, his eyes darting around in order to try and escape.
But Reeze had left him no opening. Her magic was making sure that her surroundings were as secure as they could be.
"Miss, I am afraid that you have the wrong person. Can I go back now?"
The stranger asked, and Reeze grinned.
"Oh my—! Do I have the wrong person? I am so sorry about that. Here, let me make it up to you."
She spoke softly and, as she turned around, her hand moved faster than it ever had and clutched the shoulder of the stranger.
The man flinched in shock but not in pain. He was stronger than he looked, and his body felt scaly as well under her hand.
She tightened her pressure, her hand gripping that shoulder even harder, and the magic made the stranger's skin fizzle.
That finally made the stranger pull back, and he hissed as he looked at her.
