Cane's POV
The second the door closed behind Stephanie and the kids, my face went hard.
All the fake smiles, all the pretending, gone.
I turned slow and looked at Tiffany. She was still sitting there, legs crossed, trying to act brave. But I saw it. The fear creeping into her eyes.
"What the hell are you doing in my house?" My voice came out low, dangerous.
She swallowed. "So that's it? You used me to make her jealous and now you act like this?"
I took one step closer. "If you don't start talking right now, I swear I'll bury you so deep they'll never find the pieces."
Her hands shook. She grabbed her bag fast, stood up like she was ready to run.
"I heard you two were back together," she spat. "I just came to see if you were really that stupid. To take her back after everything she did."
I moved fast, closed the space between us until she had to look up.
"What exactly did she do, Tiffany?" I asked, real quiet.
She opened her mouth. Nothing came out. Just stutters.
