Chapter 3 - Chapter 3: Blood and Betrayal

It was then she discovered the devastating truth — her grandfather had hated her late mother, Princess Selina, long before she even became part of the royal family. When Prince Amiri told his father he wanted to marry Selina, his father's pride and prejudice exploded. "If you want to marry that thing," he had said, "then first marry a foreign princess and keep her as a mistress." But Amiri refused. "I'll never marry another woman," he declared. "Selina is the only one I'll give my life to."

The king was furious. "Then give up your right to the throne and never show your face to me again."

In silence, Amiri left everything behind — his title, his position, even his right to the crown. He told Selina everything. In secret, they married. But when the king found out, he unleashed his wrath. Amiri was sent away to a foreign nation, while Selina was dragged into the palace, beaten, and injected with unknown drugs. She was treated worse than a prisoner. "You're a commoner!" the king shouted. "You're unworthy of his blood." But Selina, even through the pain, answered with steady dignity, "Status means nothing when there is love."

Over time, those cruel injections took their toll. Selina body slowly began to shut down. Yet she couldn't tell Amiri — their contact had been cut off by the king.

What many didn't know was that before all of this, Amiri and Selina had been more than lovers — they were best friends and business partners. Together, they'd built one of the greatest companies in the world. And though Selina came from humble roots, she was wealthier than the entire royal family combined. That wealth, and their love, had always made the king seethe with jealousy.

Eventually, Amiri returned, and Selina told him everything. That very night, they vanished — going into hiding under tight protection. But their peace was short-lived. Amiri was called away again.
