A few days after his dad's funeral, Lumi and his mom are alone in the room. Remembering her husband's final words she decides to talk to Lumi about his past, bracing herself up for the consequences.
Mom: "Lumi dear, there's something I need to tell you. (Lumi looks at her face searching for answers) but before I continue I want you to promise you'll never leave me. You're all I have now Lumi, I have neither brothers nor sisters no other family save for you"
Lumi: "C'mon mom, why would I leave the only person in my life. I'll even take you everywhere I go, we'll be together no matter what gets in the way"
Mom: "Okay, I trust you. What I'm about to say might feel strange to you but do not worry I'll explain."
Lumi: "Okay mom, I'm listening."
Mom: "You already know your dad and I were married long before you were born. We literally lost hope on ever having a child that is, until you came..."
Lumi: (Cutting in) "Yes, I know that already. Just tell me what it is you want to tell me. I'm getting anxious already"
Mom: "Patience, boy. I'm getting there. You know how everyone always said you were a miracle child... That's not exactly what happened..
(Flashback, Lumi's mom, but a few years younger is seen walking towards the village river, basket in hand. She stops abruptly as she hears the cry of a baby, wondering who would bring a baby to the river, brushing of the thoughts she continues on her journey but the cry persists, she begins to have a strange feeling and decides to go see.
The baby is just a few metres away from the water, risking drowning. Dropping her basket she picks him up and looks around in search for the mother.
Confused, she deliberates on what to do, she feared taking the baby would put her in some kind of trouble with the customs and traditions of the land as she wasn't from that village, she had only come for a visit.
Deciding to risk it all, she takes the baby home to her sister who advises her to wait until there's any announcement about a missing baby instead of just giving him up to the village head.
Days becomes weeks and no one hears anything about any reported case of a missing baby. By now, the letter has been read 'His name is Illumination..' keeps ringing in her hears. Her sister even joked "What kind of name is Illumination? You should probably shorten it"
"I'm thinking maybe 'Illuminate' or 'Lumi'". They both agree to leave it as 'Lumi'.
She returns to her husband's house with the child and they agree he's God's way of wiping their tears.)
