Chapter 7 - When the Sky Fell

INT. ARVEN'S LIVING ROOM – NIGHT

The television flickers, casting shadows across the walls. Arven sits on the couch, hands gripping his knees, watching the live news feed. His family huddles nearby, tense, frozen with fear.

News Anchor (on TV, trembling): Reports are coming in from around the world... recurring dreams, mass hysteria, entire towns in panic. Governments are deploying military units... scientists scramble to study the phenomenon... religious leaders warn of prophecy...

The windows rattle violently. A low, vibrating hum fills the air—felt more than heard. Arven jumps to his feet.

Arven (breathing hard, whispering): It's starting... i need to see what's happening outside.

The first trumpet sounds, a shockwave felt through the city rather than heard. Glass shatters, streetlights flicker, and the air itself seems to thrum with power.

EXT. MANILA STREETS – NIGHT

Chaos has erupted. Civilians scream and flee. Cars crash, traffic snarls, vendors abandon stalls. Looters smash into convenience stores, grabbing bottled water, canned food, and gas masks. Mothers clutch children, screaming for safety. Fires flare across the streets from overturned vehicles.

Above, the first demon descends—a massive, burning figure with wings spanning hundreds of feet. Its claws crush the road, and each step shakes the city. Citizens collapse in terror, some praying, others running blindly.

Old Woman (sobbing): The trumpets... God has come!

Man (shaking): No... no... Judgment Day!

EXT. GLOBAL MONTAGE – NIGHT / DAY

The world descends into chaos, continent by continent. Military forces scramble, civilians panic, and demons strike with devastating force.

AFRICA:

The Sahara Desert trembles. Fire rains from the sky as the first trumpet strikes the continent. A demon of immense size descends, claws tearing through villages. Armies fire tanks and artillery, but the bullets dissolve in mid-air. Civilians run in terror; sandstorms roar, carrying fire across the dunes.

SOUTH AMERICA:

The Amazon is ablaze. From bleeding clouds above, a demon falls. Brazilian troops fire missiles, helicopters dive, but the demon's wings deflect explosions. Cities crumble as buildings are incinerated. People scream in Spanish, running through streets in chaos.

AUSTRALIA:

Sydney glows green in the night. A demon descends over the harbor, its melody of destruction rippling across the city. Soldiers raise rifles, tanks roll forward, but the demon's gaze obliterates them before a single shot lands. Civilians jump into the water, screaming, as fire and debris rain from above.

NORTH AMERICA:

Times Square is a battlefield. Meteors tear the sky apart, revealing demons hidden within the flames. Military jets engage, but the air itself resists their firepower. People flee across streets, some trampled, others screaming for help as iconic buildings collapse.

EUROPE:

Church bells ring desperately as demons descend from golden clouds, shadows swallowing entire cities. Armies attempt to hold defensive lines, but every strike seems futile. Cathedrals crumble. Civilians clutch rosaries and phones, some kneeling in prayer, some running blindly through shattered streets.

ASIA:

From Tokyo to Delhi, demons fall from the sky, wings blotting out the moon. Armies fire with coordinated precision, missiles and artillery lighting up the night sky, but every strike seems to miss. Cities burn. Billions watch, trapped in fear as the ground shakes beneath them.

ANTARCTICA:

Research stations crack under pressure. Ice fractures as demons crawl from the abyss beneath the frozen surface. Scientists radio in desperation, but signals are cut as the frozen bases collapse. Military reinforcements cannot reach them in time.

EXT. MANILA – NIGHT

Back in the city, Arven navigates streets filled with screaming civilians, overturned vehicles, and smoke. Looters scavenge abandoned stores. Fires burn in every direction. Helicopters patrol the skies, but their guns are useless against the first demon, now rampaging across the central district.

Suddenly, tanks roll through the streets. Soldiers attempt coordinated attacks, firing shells and missiles at the demon. Explosions erupt, but the creature barely flinches. Its claws swipe, tearing armored vehicles apart. Arven dives behind a wall, shielding himself from flying debris.

Arven (thinking, breathless): They... aren't just attacking... they're testing us.

The second demon appears overhead, wings casting a shadow across half the city. Police and military units fire as one, but bullets and missiles evaporate mid-air. Civilians flee in every direction, some trampled in panic, others screaming into the night sky. Looters, realizing the futility of their thefts, run, bags abandoned, chaos consuming them.

EXT. CITY CENTER – NIGHT

The two demons clash with the army. Buildings collapse under the shockwaves of their movement. Military jets attempt precision strikes but are torn apart by wingbeats and fire. Tanks are crushed or explode. The streets are littered with wreckage, smoke, and terrified civilians.

Arven watches from a rooftop, knees trembling, eyes wide. His city is falling, but so is the world. Screens on nearby buildings show live footage from other continents: Asia burning, Europe crumbling, Africa in flames.

Arven (whispering, voice breaking): This... this isn't a dream... it's the nightmare... it is now happening, its hard to believe...that hell is coming right at us.

The low hum from earlier grows louder, vibrating through his bones. Drones buzz overhead, attempting to record the destruction. Soldiers fall back, screaming orders that cannot be executed. Humanity's defenses are collapsing, one continent at a time.

EXT. MANILA – NIGHT (CONTINUOUS)

Arven runs along the street, dodging falling debris. Fires light the horizon. Looters, panicked civilians, and fleeing soldiers collide in chaos. A demon lands nearby, its roar shaking the ground. He freezes, watching as it raises a massive blade, tearing through a nearby building. The shockwave knocks him to the ground. Blood and dust fill the air.

The city, the world... humanity itself, is under siege. And in the middle of it, Arven stands, breathless, knowing there is no safety left.

Arven (thinking, tense): This is only the beginning...i need to go home and see my family..stupid arven why did i go outside!!

The first wave of demons is just the start. The sky is alive with fire and wings, the earth trembling with every step. Soldiers, governments, scientists, and civilians alike scramble—but nothing is enough. Humanity's nightmare has begun.

INT. ARVEN'S HOUSE – NIGHT

Smoke seeps through the windows. The walls tremble with distant explosions. His mother clutches his younger sister, trembling. His father paces, eyes darting at the news updates on his phone and the faint red glow of fires outside.

Father: Arven where have you been! doesnt matter now, follow me!

Father (commanding, urgent): Everyone, the basement! Now! It's the only place we might be safe for a while!

Arven's mother nods quickly, ushering his sister toward the stairwell. Furniture is shoved aside. He watches his father grab emergency supplies—flashlights, water, canned food, and a small radio—then descend with the family. The shaking floor and distant roars of demons make their urgency palpable.

Arven (hesitant, thinking): I can't... I can't just hide. Not when she...

He takes one last look at the trembling city outside the window. The air is thick with smoke, ash floating like snow. Heart hammering, he slips quietly through the back door.

EXT. STREETS – NIGHT

Arven runs. The streets are a warzone—flames illuminate toppled cars, civilians scream, and looters fight over supplies. Military convoys attempt to hold positions, but the demons move like unstoppable storms, swiping through tanks, crushing armored vehicles beneath massive claws.

He zigzags through alleys, dodging falling debris. Fires cast long shadows that dance across broken walls. Each step brings a new roar, a new tremor in the ground.

Arven (thinking, breathless): May... she's still out there... I have to make sure she's okay.

He rounds a corner and freezes—a large demon's silhouette looms over a collapsed building. Its wings fan smoke into the sky. He crouches behind a car, heart racing, then waits for it to move before bolting down a side street.

EXT. MAY'S NEIGHBORHOOD – NIGHT

The streets are eerily quiet compared to the chaos he left behind. Streetlights flicker. Smoke drifts lazily from nearby fires. Arven approaches May's house, scanning for movement.

He notices lights in the windows. Relief hits him, tempered by the knowledge that danger is everywhere. He creeps closer, hearing muffled voices.

Arven (thinking): Thank God... someone's there.

He sneaks to the side entrance and peeks inside. May's family huddles in their living room—her parents holding each other tightly, her younger brother clutching a blanket, eyes wide with fear. May sits beside them, tense but alert.

May (whispering to her family): Stay low... stay calm. Don't make noise.

Arven takes a deep breath, then steps inside quietly, making his presence known without alarming them.

Arven (softly, urgent): May... it's me. Arven.

May turns, eyes widening in shock, then relief.

May (whispering): Arven... you shouldn't have come. It's not safe...

Arven: I had to. I couldn't just hide in my house... I had to make sure you were okay.

Her parents glance at him, wary but grateful for the extra pair of hands. Outside, the low hum of demons grows louder—roars and crashes echo through the night, shaking the walls of the neighborhood.

May's Father (resolute): If we're going to survive this, we stick together. Arven... you can stay here, but we must plan. Supplies, barricades... and stay low.

Arven (nodding, tense): I understand.

The three families begin to move quickly, securing doors and windows, piling furniture, lighting emergency lamps. The air is heavy with smoke and fear. Outside, distant buildings collapse. Fires flare across the horizon. The low rumble of demons grows closer, shaking the ground beneath their feet.

Arven (thinking, tense): This... this is only the beginning. And it's worse than I imagined.

From the street, the shadow of a demon passes, wings blotting out a flickering streetlight. The families freeze, silent, hearts hammering. The world outside has turned into a battlefield, and Manila is just one of many cities under siege.
