Kaito's eyes fluttered open‚ the sharp sting of headache and injuries lingering but somehow lessen from the last time. For a moment he didn't know where he was then a strange warm sensation on his arm made him freeze.
Kaito turn his head to the side‚ he blinked and a small wrinkled old woman leaning over his arm her tounge carefully along one of his wound‚ Kaito jerk his arm away with a half-chocked yelp.
"Ah! Who are you and what are you doing to my arm‚ why are you licking me?!" Kaito asked confused and disgusted.
"Oh don't interrupt in my work‚ brat!" The old woman smack Kaito hardly on his stomach. "Gah!"
"You're in a hospital of our village and am a nurse‚ I'm using my magic to heal your wounds so stop moving around to much and let me do my work‚ not like i get payed enough to deal with your mischief!" The old woman takes his arm again and start doing her work on his wounds.
Suddenly Kazuki walks in the Soul Slayer who saved Kaito‚ hakari and Noboru from Ren. "You're already awake i see‚ Kaito." Kazuki says with a smile.
"Kazuki-san.. where's my sister Hakari and Noboru? Are they alright?" Kaito asks with concerned written on his face.
"No need to worry they're just fine and already up‚ see it yourself." Kaito looks outside the door to see Hakari running and Noboru running behind her seems like playing.
"Thank god they're alright.." Kaito thinks.
The old woman moves back. "Brat‚ don't move around to much and you should be alright and the wounds will heal up quickly‚ i need to get paid soon.." She mumbles the last part before leaving the room causing Kazuki to laugh lightly. "She's always yapping about getting paid but believe me she is one of the best healer‚ you can always look up to her."
Noboru and hakari walks inside the room jumping on top of Kaito. "Kaito-kun! Brother!" They both seem happy that Kaito is already awake.
"Ow that hurts you both!" Kaito cries softly.
"I thought you'd died Kaito-kun!" Noboru says with tears and snots passing.
"Brother i was scared that you might be too hurt but the old woman treated you‚ i almost thought I'd lose you too.." Hakari says sadly while nuzzling her face in Kaito chest.
"I'm alright both of you..and Noboru-san you were posioned‚ are you alright now?" Kaito says with a concerned expression remembering how Ren the powerful demon had poisoned Noboru.
"Yes! Im feeling all good‚ i think the old woman fixed my wounds and poison too i feel like i can beat up many demons now! Not that i wanna fight any demons they're scary.." Noboru says jumping and showing his muscles but the horror of demons lingers on him.
Kazuki says to them feeling grateful for them. "Looks like you guys having your fair moment haha."
A beautiful young girl walks in the room her long blonde hairs flowing behind her and she seem to be wearing plain white haori with a ribbon giving looks of an uniform. "Captain what's taking you too long‚ we still have a mission to work on and here you're wasting your time with some peasants!
Kaito‚ hakari and Noboru looks over at her taking in her beauty especially Kaito with a small almost unnoticeable blush creep up on his cheeks. "So cute.." Kaito thinks to himself.
"Whoa she's too beautiful like an angle!" Noboru says with his jaw dropped.
"My sister is still more beautiful..!" Kaito mumbles to himself not wanting to fall for some random girl.
Kazuki says with a nervous look on his face. "A-hah i almost forgot but thanks for reminding me Noelle-" Before he could finish his sentence the girl named Noelle punches him in the stomach. "You're just slacking off trying to avoid the mission you damn old man!"
Kazuki holds his stomach and laughs nervously. "oye c'mon I'm only 27 and where's the protocol i should have as a captain."
Noelle looks over at Hakari‚ Kaito and Noboru. "So you're the peasants our old captain was talking about‚ think yourself as lucky for being in my presence you peasants."
Kaito and Noboru whole expression of her change as they both says together. "So scary!"
"Alright Noelle‚ I'm going to do my work so in my place can you show them around the village‚ they're new." Captain Kazuki asks to Noelle (member of his team)"
Noelle holds her head high out of self honor with a smirk. "Heh since you asked so nicely i guess i will show them around"
Kazuki walks out from the room with a smirk towards Hakari‚ Kaito and Noboru. "Have fun and make sure you don't piss her off‚ or else who knows what she's gonna do to you..heh"
Kazuki leaves the room‚ Noboru is first one to speak up. "Hey what's your name‚ mine's Noboru let's be friends hehe~"
"And I'm hakari"
"Am Kaito‚ Hakari's big brother."
Noelle smiles proudly at herself. "My name is Noelle and I'm one of Kazuki's team's member.
All three of them (Kaito‚ hakari and Noboru who's still sitting beside Kaito on bed)
Kaito speaks up. "What do you mean. Kazuki-san team member? Is he a captain of sometype of team or what?
Noboru looks equally confused. "Mhm i wanna know too‚ is he some type of captain of team because all i know that soul slayers are very strong.
"Soul slayer?" Hakari thinks.
Noelle looks shocked. "You peasants don't know about Kazuki and especially what soul slayers are?! Fine i will tell you on our way" Noelle looks over at Kaito who's laying on bed all injured. "I guess you guys had a fight‚ those wounds doesn't look good."
Kaito feels embarrassed that he couldn't fight and protect Hakari and Noboru on his own. "Y-yeah..it hurts pretty much."
Noelle looks at them before moving towards the door to leave. "Alright i will show you around the village and let's get you three something to eat first‚ you all look pretty hungry and beaten up‚ you should consider yourself lucky that old woman healed your wounds and saved Noboru-kun from the poison..he was at brink of death."
Noboru face goes a little pale. "W-wait what poison and who's dying‚ i don't remember it at all."
Before Noboru could finish Hakari gets excited and runs up to Noelle. "Yeah! yeah!let's go eat something I'm really hungry anyway‚ c'mon brother‚ Noboru let's go eat and look around at the village!"
Kaito slowly gets out of bed and follows behind the three of them and because of the old woman healing magic his wounds are already pretty much back to normal and he can walk just fine. "Yeah we should get something to eat‚ im starving."
Noboru adds excitedly. "I wonder if there's any cute girls in the village!"
"You pervert!" Noelle smacks Noboru lightly on the face.
Five minutes later.
All four of them are walking through the street with many people doing their daily life work‚ kids playing‚ guys are chattering‚ woman carryings baskets of fruits and flowers. The birds in a distance chirps softly.
The cool breeze passes from Kaito as he feels safe and able to drop his guard a bit knowing they might be safe here for a while.
"Alright so what do you all want to eat‚ we have every type of food here." Noelle asks from the three of them.
Kaito‚ Hakari and Noboru says together at once. "Ramen! Let's eat some ramen!"
"Alright I'll feed you peasants with my money." She says proudly.
The four of them enter a small restaurant and Noelle walk up to the cashier. "4 medium bowl of ramen." Noboru speaks up. "No i want a large one!" Noelle looks over at him with shock. "You should be grateful that I'm even feeding you peasants just because captain Kazuki told me to!" As she says that the three of them Kaito‚ Noboru and Hakari stomachs growl at same time. "F-fine I'll buy you large ones!" The four of them sit down on the chairs with their bowl of ramen. Noboru is first one to eat up. "Hmmm! Delicious." Noelle looks a bit shock at how eager Noboru is. "Disgusting.."
Kaito and Hakari shows proper mannar. "Thanks for the food." They say before eating. "It's so delicious it melts into my mouth‚ i never tried ramen before!" Hakari says excitedly.
"Indeed..it's delicious just as i had heard." Kaito says liking the taste of ramen.
Noelle looks over at Kaito and Hakari. "You've never eaten ramen before?!"
"Yeah we never had a proper food for a while and especially not ramen." Kaito says while eating ramen.
Noelle looks even confused. "But your friend here seem to eat it before..but still he eats like it's the end of the world tomorrow.." she says pointing at Noboru who's eating like it's the last meal of his life. "Aren't you guys meant to be friends so that means you must know each other well."
Kaito speaks up. "Well.. not really because hakari here is my sister while we met Noboru 2 Days ago.
Noboru says between bites. "Y-yes i helped them when they were fighting a demon in a haunted house!" Kaito thinks to himself. "You just stole the glory.."
Noelle blushes lightly out of embarrassment of saying this. "W-well in that case i believe i can feed you guys more later." Noelle expression gets serious. "We have to meet up with the captains of other teams and the head of soul slayers because they wanna see who you new comers are."
Noboru asks with a giggle. "Is the head a girl?!" Noelle seem to laugh lightly. "Haha no you dumbass‚ he's just a rusty old man but i would say you rather not underestimate him! And you three better behave in front of others captains..or they will KILL YOU.
Noboru‚ Hakari and Kaito all three of them flinches. "Kill us?!" Noelle says with a darker voice. "They will if they get suspicious of you three‚ but since maybe captain Kazuki will be there you all should be fine‚ he seem to like the three of you not that you three are interesting or anything!" Noelle says the last part with a blush since she didn't really had any friends before.
"So what exactly are the Soul slayers? Kaito ask the question.
"The soul slayers such as me‚ also I'm lower soul slayers because i only joined a month back and the captains of 7 teams are considered the strongest Soul Slayers."
Kaito seems interested in it and asks. "Why soul slayers and why not Demon Slayers?"
"We are called Soul Slayers because we believe demon's soul is hidden in their core in their chest‚ that's their weakest point and even if you behead them‚ they will still regenerate them in no time so always aim for the chest."
Noboru speaks while eating. "Really? The captains are this strong?! I wanna meet them."
Hakari looks over at Kaito. "Brother..will they really kill us?" Kaito smiles at hakari before patting her head. "No matter what‚ i will protect you so don't worry."
Noelle eyes glows with excitement. "Hey listen you peasants‚ why don't you three join up the Soul slayers! It would be fun going on missions together and they also gives money~" The last part catching Noboru attention. "Do they really give money?!! I wanna do it how can i?!"
"Join the Demon corps..?" Kaito thinks for a moment knowing hakari is young and she can't wield a sword.
"Oh and what about our swords‚ that Ren guy broke it" Noboru says.
"Wait you guys fought Ren and came back alive?!" Noelle screams fully shocked at how they're still alive even after facing one of bloodfang demon.
Kaito says his hand moving over his forehead over a scar given by Ren. "Kazuki-san is the one who helped us‚ otherwise we were dead for sure.."
Noelle gets up from her seat. "I almost forgot! It's time we should go to the Demon corp building to introduce you peasants to the captains and the head!"
Just then someone kick open the door of restaurant and speaks with a dark voice. "Noelle I'm gonna kill you."
