Eugenia and Shaya looked at each other, then both turned their eyes toward Holy Son.
Holy Son faced them with his back, stretched his arms, and laughed. "Now that the Federal Council is in a power vacuum, they sent us away to suppress The Black Church. They just don't want us to interfere with their politics."
"But you all saw it—how corrupt the Federal Council has become. Just changing the chairman won't fix it. Only the light of the gods can clean the sins of these foolish people and guide them back on the right path."
