Chapter 17 - Chapter 17: I’ve Always Been Honest

After closing the official guide, Fenric's eyes gleamed—not because the strategy was impressive, but because of what it revealed about the first floor of the Samsara Tower.

"World War Z"

For Fenric, that name was all too familiar.

In his previous life, the movie World War Z had been one of his favorite apocalyptic thrillers. He remembered every key detail, every plot twist.

The guide wasn't wrong—the zombies in that world were fast, brutal, and far stronger than ordinary humans.

But…

They had a fatal weakness.

As long as you exploited that weakness, you could carve through them like a butcher through chickens—even survive a siege without a scratch.

The best part?

No one else in the Samsara World seemed to know this. Only Fenric.

"Since it's World War Z, I'm at least 80% confident I can clear it—and if luck's on my side, maybe even pull a top-tier rating."

His eyes hardened. Tonight, he would challenge the Samsara Tower.

—--

He shut down the computer and stretched out on the bed. Even knowing the plot, the danger was real; a single misstep meant death. He needed to be sharp—rested, focused, ready.

There was no need to read other strategies online.

Not arrogance. Just fact.

No one in this world understood that world better than he did.

Midnight

At exactly 12:00, the alarm chimed. Fenric's eyes snapped open. The full moon emblem on his arm began to glow faint crimson.

He clenched his fist. A moment later—

Flash!

His room vanished.

—--

The figure of Shura reappeared in Samsara Square.

Barely had he materialized when a crisp prompt sounded:

You have a new message. "Arke" invites you to a video call. Please respond.

"Connect."

A holographic window bloomed before him, revealing the masked girl—Arke.

"Good evening," Fenric greeted casually.

Arke didn't waste time. "Shura, meet me at the Trading Center. I'm waiting."

"Understood."

The feed cut immediately—no extra words.

Fenric chuckled and shook his head. "Straight to business, huh?"

"System, send me to the Trading Center."

Teleporting…

A blink later, Fenric stood before the massive glass doors of the Trading Center.

Inside, the place buzzed with life—samsara players haggling, exchanging goods, forming parties. Trading in Samsara Space was the safest way to handle high-value deals.

"Shura!"

He turned. Arke was waving him over.

"Come with me."

She led him to a private room, closing the door behind them. Rows of similar booths lined the corridor, each warded for confidentiality.

"I've prepared the gold bars," Arke said briskly. "Including the handling fee, that's 23.5 million worth. Let's trade."

"Wait," Fenric interjected.

Arke froze. A flicker of wariness crossed her masked face. "What now?"

"Have you checked the samsara forum today?" Fenric's tone was mild. "Someone's offering 40 million for first-hand clearance data on Infernal Affairs."

Her posture stiffened. "What are you implying? You planning to jack up the price now?"

"Nothing like that," Fenric said with a calm smile. "I've always been an honest man."

"Heh."

Arke gave a sharp, humorless laugh. "Then what's this about?"

"Just a small request before we finalize. That's all." He spread his hands innocently. "Think about it—I'm letting this go for twenty million. That's half the current bid. Asking for one little favor isn't too much… right?"
