Chapter 238 - Chapter 238: The Second Five Tigers Are Coming!

"Master! That's Zhang Fei, the Yan general under Liu Bei's command. Be wary—he might be up to something!"

Cao Hong warned sternly.

Cao Cao narrowed his eyes as he stared at the awe-inspiring figure before him.

"I've long heard of Zhang Fei—the man said to be able to take a general's head from amidst a million troops, as easily as reaching into a bag. Seeing him today, I believe the rumors."

What Cao Cao referred to happened long ago, when his army was besieged at Baimapo. Guan Yu had slain Yan Liang, one of Yuan Shao's fiercest generals, breaking the siege.

Cao Cao had celebrated the feat, but Guan Yu had humbly brushed it off.

"It's not worth mentioning," he had said.

Since then, Cao Cao had kept Zhang Fei's name in mind.

Now, faced with him directly, even he felt a hint of fear.

At that moment, Zhang Fei roared again,

"I am Zhang Fei of Yan! Who among you dares fight me to the death?!"

Old Cao shrank back slightly, his nerves fraying.

The other generals, seeing the thick smoke rising behind Zhang Fei from the woods, imagined a hidden army lying in ambush. None dared to act rashly.

But then, Fenric laughed.

He knew the Three Kingdoms storyline well—and this was a classic case of bluffing.

There was no army behind Zhang Fei at all. Just a handful of men tying branches to their horses' tails and galloping in circles. The dust clouds they kicked up made it look like thousands were on the move.

Seeing no one take the challenge, Fenric stepped forward.

"My lord, Zhang Fei is all bark. He's not worth fearing. Allow me to relieve you of this concern—I'll take him down."

"Oh?"

Cao Cao raised his eyebrows, then broke into a pleased smile, clearly impressed.

But Pang De suddenly interjected,

"Zhongye, don't get overconfident. Look behind him—the smoke might be real. There could be cavalry hidden in the woods."

Cao Cao nodded.

"Miaocai makes a good point."

Fenric chuckled.

"My lord, General Dun, there's no need for concern. I'm certain Zhang Fei is bluffing. Liu Bei has at most five thousand men—if he had a real army, why wouldn't he have ambushed Yangxian instead?"

Everyone paused, considering his logic.

Fenric continued with a grin,

"And even if there is an ambush, I fear nothing. If the fight goes poorly, I'll retreat. Zhang Fei can't stop me."

Cao Cao nodded, pleased.

"Zhongye, you are indeed my tiger general. Be cautious. If the odds turn against you, retreat immediately."

"Understood, my lord. I will return with Zhang Fei's head!"

With that, Fenric spurred his horse forward, riding toward the bridge.

Zhang Fei was just about to shout again when he saw a young general approach from the Cao army. He blinked in surprise.

"What? Has Cao Cao run out of warriors? Sending a child to fight me?"

He sneered, though inwardly his heart pounded.

He knew the truth—if Cao Cao wasn't tricked, he wouldn't be able to hold the line alone.

So the more nervous he became, the louder and more aggressive his voice grew.

Fenric smiled.

"Zhang Fei, to deal with you, even a 'child' like me is enough."

Zhang Fei's face darkened with rage.

"You arrogant brat! Die!!"

With a furious roar, he charged Fenric at full speed.

Anyone familiar with the original tale knows Zhang Fei's temper—fiery and explosive. Eventually, his rashness would cost him his life, assassinated by his own men while he slept.

If Zilong were here, he would have shouted at him to retreat—because in Zilong's eyes, Fenric wasn't just strong.

He was a monster.

The Samsara system had enhanced all these historical generals to roughly B-class power levels...

But Fenric was no ordinary Samsara.

He had taken super-god tier multiple times.

Letting Fenric face these generals was overkill.

Tap tap tap...

Zhang Fei's horse galloped with thunderous speed.

In a flash, he was right in front of Fenric.

Fenric calmly drew his broad machete, slashing it directly toward Zhang Fei's face.

He didn't show the same respect Zilong might have.

He didn't hate Zhang Fei—but he didn't like his hotheadedness either.

So this strike carried at least 80% of Fenric's full power.

It was swift. It was brutal.

"Whoosh!" "Whoosh!"

The sound of slicing air rang out sharply.

Zhang Fei's expression changed. The boy was too fast—he had no time to counter. He hastily raised his Eight-span Serpent Spear to block.

CLANG!!!

A deafening crash rang out.

The stone beneath the bridge cracked from the impact.

"Aaargh!"

Zhang Fei's leg bones shattered instantly. He dropped to his knees with a guttural scream.

And he wasn't much better above the waist.

He crashed to the ground, dazed, seeing stars. His arms were numb. He couldn't lift a thing. Blood seeped from his hands.

The mighty super-class general, Zhang Fei...

Was utterly destroyed by one blow.

If not for his lance's steel shaft softening the impact, Fenric's strike would have cleaved him in two.

Fenric examined the deep notch in his blade, then looked down at Zhang Fei.

"Zhang Fei of Yan—what's this? Can't even take a single hit?"

He said coldly,

"If this is all you've got, I'll be taking your head now."

Zhang Fei finally stirred, looking up in shock.

"Are... are you a man or a ghost?"

Fenric didn't bother replying.

He jumped off his horse and threw a punch.

Zhang Fei tried to block.

BOOM—!

Even blocking it, the force sent him flying like a ragdoll. He hit the ground and didn't get back up.

Unconscious.

Fenric walked over, grabbed Zhang Fei's ankle with one hand, and casually lifted him up—like a farmer carrying a chicken.

Zhang Fei was a mountain of muscle, easily over 170 catty. Yet in Fenric's hand, he looked weightless.

On Cao Cao's side, every soldier who witnessed the scene swallowed hard.

Terrifying!

Thank heavens he was on their side.

Because facing such a monster... would be a nightmare.

In truth, if Zhang Fei hadn't underestimated Fenric so badly from the beginning, he might not have lost so quickly.

But even if he had lasted longer...

The result would have been the same.
