Chapter 3 - Chapter 3

Cary stared at his Son for a second. He exhaled closing the newspaper into a bend.

" Ok, let's tell the Police Son," Cary said.

Hearing his father's agreement Solum went back to his room, it didn't take long before he was asleep.

It was Monday now and he was off at school. Throughout his morning lessons he did his best to keep focus. Other students around him noticed his odd behaviors lately and started mocking him. The threw paper balls at him or laughed loudly.

Solum knew he was behaving differently but he couldn't help it, the vivid memory the boud him to fear and the constant counting in his head wasn't easily. He counted every even the steps he took when walking.

Solum sat alone at lunch. He was counting all the students that walked pass him when his attention was drawn to his sandwich. He was counting the holes on the bread of his sandwich. He knew what he was doing and was it wrong? yes, it caused his brain to overwork. Solum gulped down a large mouthful of juice to calm himself down.

It worked at he could feel his heart rate slow. He exhaled satisfied. Not long after he felt a heavy feeling in the back of his head. He bent forward from the impact and heard laughter behind him.

" Hey Solum or should I say counting Solum since you've been counting everything these days," a male voice laughed.

Solum turned around looking up the see a familiar group of boys. He counted five of them.

" So how've you been bud," the boy asked slapping Solum on him head with the book again.

Solum didn't answer.

" You're quieter than usual,"

" Probably busy counting," another boy from the friend jokes causing all his friends to chuckle and the nearby students who heard laughed with them.

" Anyways got another grade shit from physics class I want you to complete," the first spoke said slapping the book on Solums head again before dropping it on the table before him.

" Got it," the first boy asked.

Solum remained quiet not looking at him. The boy noticed and ruffled Solum's head aggressively while speaking.

" This no way to treat a friend Solim," the boys gripping Solum's hair to look at him.

Solum didn't speak staring up at Jun.

Jun looked down at Solum taking in his serious expression and his none emotional look in his eyes. Jun couldn't tell if Solum's extra dark brown eyes were looking at him or beyond him.

Jun felt slightly intimidated and he didn't like that a boy like Solum caused him to feel like that. Jun scoffed before shoving Solum's head.

" Are you going to say something or not?" Jun said one hand in his pocket.

" Maybe he's counting the hairs on your skin," a friend commented laughing.

" Such a creep," another added with a laugh.

" Hey Solum," Jun called slapping Solum on the head.

" Solum," he called again repeating the same actions.

Each slap that Solum took he counted it as for each time his name was called. After a few more slaps Solum rose up spinning around in one swift movement before pouncing at Jun.

He moved so swiftly no one saw it coming. Before Jun could free himself or his friends could step in Solum rose his hand up before jamming it into Jun's jaw. It punctured his flesh immediately hushing blood as he released a painful cry.

" One," Solum noted to himself before pulling out the pen from Jun's jaw and repeated his actions again, and for each stab he counted it.

All of Jun's friend stood frozen on spot as they were frightened. They had never seen this before and from a quiet student like Solum it was beyond expectations.

A few girls who saw Solum's actions stood up covering their mouth and others screamed.

Jun was brought from his shock and pushed Solum off him, he crawled on his bottom and hand creating distance while his other hand held his bloody holed jaw.

His friends saw him move and was also set free from their stare as two of them helped his to his feet. Jun angrily moved his shoulders fanning them off. He felt pissed as everyone was staring.

Solum simply wiped the blood that splashed on his face while staring at Jun. He wasn't finished yet.

" You crazy bastard," Jun cursed running towards him like an angry bull.

Jun landed the first blow in Solum's gut making his stagger. As he was about to deliver another assault Solum lifted his pen held hand. Jun didn't saw it coming and the pen pierced stucking in his skin. Jun screamed out flashing his had as the pain was unbearable.

With very shaky hands and eyes that were holding back tears Jun pulled the pen out of his skin.

" Fuck!" Jun screamed out in anger.

This was the first time something like this had ever happened like this. The confrontation drew a crowd and soon the teachers got called. There were points and comments and Jun wasn't about to have any of this.

He was about to charge at Solum but a male teacher, the basketball coach appeared catching Jun's arm. When the coach saw the flesh dripping cut he stunned without words. Two more teachers appeared and Jun shouted Solum started it.

Solum spotted the blood on his hands and started shivering, his eyes were wide open looking terrified as if he hadn't noticed it from the beginning.

The teachers found it hard to believe as Solum was a quiet person, but seeing the blood on his hands, face and shirt they were frightened wondering what led to his violent actions.

Jun pointed blame at Solum, but not even his friends were taking his side. The teachers didn't know the first word to say as they took a few seconds to build their thoughts. Jun was pulled to the infirmary and Solum was pulled to a room.

Solum sat in the chair still looking terrified trying to calm himself down.

"Solum why did you do this?" a teacher asked hesitantly not knowing how to start the conversation.
