Chapter 14 - Chapter 14

Solum slowly walked over to the figure and when he was close enough, Solum noticed that the figure laying was himself.

Solum stared down at the figure that laid peacefully in the bed covered by the sheets. Most people might have reacted with confusion and fear, but Solum didn't do any of this.

He approached his body with care and with curiosity and an out stretch arm he hushed his body to wake. But when he felt the solidness from the body all was black and silent.

When Solum could see again he was staring up at the ceiling unable to move. As if he was fighting to get himself free. Solum knew this feeling though this had rarely happened it him. It was sleep paralysis.

Finally getting himself free Solum exhaled relieved as he looked at his arms, he touched his body before carrying his eyes around his room. His heart was pounding and he had sweat coating his forehead.

Around the room everything looked normal. He could now smell the breakfast that was being prepared downstairs and the movements of his other family members.

Dragging himself from the bed Solum dressed himself before going downstairs. His dad wasn't home, that had became a norm. Melissa was wearing more clothes that was too much on her skin, but this had became a norm too. And as always Solum didn't eat.

When Solum arrived at school which he was late to. He went onto class and Jeon didn't wait a second asking Solum where he was. Jeon was hushed by the teacher so he would have to wait till lunchtime.

When it was lunchtime both boys sat together and Jeon wanted to know why Solum was late, but Solum didn't know how to explain anything so he said he woke up late. Jeon didn't believe narrow his eyes a bit before switching back to his gleeful expression as he accepted the answer.

While Jeon showed Solum some of his newer drawings Solum got distracted by a tall figure that wore glasses. Solum new this boy, at least he thought he did, he remembered him from when they were running this morning or last night he didn't know.

While looking at the boy Solum felt a sense of familiarity and also at the same time he didn't. Almost like déjà-vu.

He wanted to say something to the boy, but being indifferent and not a person to approach first he didn't. Jeon noticed where Solum gaze laid and spoke.

" You looking at Aizare. He's a talented one," Jeon informed.

" Oh, I see," came Solum flat respond as he believed Jeon's words.

After school both boys decided to walk and Jeon spoke up saying they should buy bicycles as it would be fun to ride home. Solum liked this thoughg so he nodded with a smile. Throughout the journey Jeon's chatter was non stop, but Solum didn't mind he liked Jeon's voice and listened keenly to every word that left Jeon's mouth as if it was important information.

Jeon reached his house first, but instead of going home he told Solum he would walk him home as it was his idea to walk so he didn't want to leave Solum alone.

" But won't you have to go back on your own?"

" Nonsense," said Jeon with a chuckle before pulling Solum.

When Solum reached home it was empty for the most part. Inside him was a strange warm feeling that could only make him smile. It had been so long that he felt something like this.

After two hours Solem heard as footsteps entered the house. He now heard both siblings downstairs. They both then went to their respective rooms. An hour later Melissa arrived starting on dinner.

It was night now and Solum laid down to rest it was long until he felt light on his skin. When he open his eyes he was looking at the sky that was painted with blue, orange and red. The sun was setting. Sitting up he found himself in a lawn of tall knee length grass.

Solum couldn't help but to wonder if this was a dream. But somehow he felt it wasn't. As Solum stood up he say a vast outstretch plain of grass. While looking around he spotted other figures that too were standing up. Everyone seeing someone else gathered together to seek answers.

" Where are we?" someone asked.

As Solum was closed someone pounched on him causing him to fall.

" Solum!"

" Jeon?" noted Solum internally as he knew this voice well.

" Yep!" laughed Jeon helping his friend up.

A few of the teens knew one another and others were from a different side of the town so they were unfamiliar. Everyone kept asking questions trying to figure out where they were. But no one understood anything explaining this had never happened to them before.

Solum found it strange as he had a similar experience and looking around Solum didn't know any of these teens. He had never really seen them before.

Without them noticing the tall grass had shrunk to ankle length. Maybe they did notice, but didn't care to think.

There were twelve of them in total each not knowing what was happening. Solum thought he may have an idea, but said nothing.

" Do you know something?" asked Jeon his voice low as he noticed a thoughtful look on Solum's face.

" No," answered Solum in a low stutter.

No later than a minute they saw a figure approaching them in a crawl.

" Oh my god," a girl gasped surprised and instantly covered her mouth. She pointed getting the others attention as she stepped back.

They realized a bloodied figure approaching them, it clenched the grass and pulled itself.

" What's that?" Someone stuttered feeling frightened.

The figure was magically in front of them and it wrapped it's wet bloody fingers around a girl's ankle.

" It's coming, it's going to take us all," the figure said hoarsely it's voice low and cracking.

With a wail the girl cried out dragging her leg but fell.

" It's here. Run," the figure added hoarsely.

No sooner than that the sky got darker and they heard a loud ear piercing screetch that had the mixture of a man, woman, child, baby, birds, wind and other animals. It was so many noise to process from one scream.

The teens were standing around not knowing we're to run, it was such vast outstretch land covered in grass.

As they stood looking all round them someone spotted a tall figure in the distant.

" What's that?" A boy asked.

" I don't know, but I'm leaving," followed a answer.

Everyone felt fear building on the inside.
