Chapter 75 - Kainats Recognition

The morning of the ceremony arrived with a soft winter breeze brushing through the city. The sky was clear, pale blue, and the sun gently warmed the rooftops. It was the kind of day that felt calm and celebratory at the same time.

Kainat stood in the living room of the Khan residence, adjusting the simple yet elegant dress she had chosen for the occasion. It wasn't flashy—she never liked that—but it carried a quiet grace that perfectly matched her grounded personality. Her mother stood behind her, smiling proudly, while her father watched silently, his hands tightly clasped together as if holding back overflowing emotion.

Aisha came out from the hallway, fixing her dupatta.

"You look beautiful," she said with an approving grin.

Kainat blushed slightly. "Thank you. I'm more nervous than anything."

"You deserve every bit of this," Ashburn said, entering from the side with his sleeves rolled neatly and a calm expression. "This kitchen project… These four branches… You've helped feed half the city without ever asking for recognition."

Kainat smiled at him, soft and meaningful. "And you helped me build it."

"Still," Ashburn replied, "the heart behind it is yours."

Her father nodded proudly. "We always knew she'd do something meaningful… but never imagined it on this scale."

Kainat lowered her eyes with a shy smile. "Let's go before we get late."

They all stepped outside together—Ashburn, Aisha, Kainat, and her parents—leaving in Ashburn's newly bought car. It wasn't a luxury vehicle, just a clean, well-maintained sedan, but for him, it felt like a symbol of everything he had built in just a few months.

The Ceremony

The city auditorium was lively, decorated with banners from the local government and filled with guests from different backgrounds—business owners, community figures, charity representatives, and families.

The stage had a simple setup: a row of chairs, a podium, and a table of awards neatly arranged.

As they entered, several people recognized Kainat and greeted her warmly. Her charity kitchens had become well known—especially the branch that had recently opened in a densely packed neighborhood where food insecurity was high.

Ashburn walked beside her, occasionally nodding politely when someone acknowledged him, but letting the spotlight remain on her. Even Aisha took a step back, wanting Kainat to shine uninterrupted.

When the ceremony began, the announcer read names one by one until finally…

"And now, a special recognition for exemplary humanitarian service… Miss Kainat, founder and organizer of the Khan Charity Kitchens."

Applause filled the hall.

Kainat walked to the stage slowly, her heart pounding, but her steps steady. The official shook her hand and handed her a framed certificate along with a silver-plated shield engraved with her name.

"As a young woman leading multiple charity kitchens across the city, your contribution has significantly improved local welfare," the official announced. "You have set an example for social responsibility."

Cameras clicked. People clapped warmly.

Kainat smiled modestly, her voice steady as she spoke at the mic:

"It was never about recognition… It was about ensuring no one goes to sleep hungry. And I did not do it alone. I had support from my team… from friends… and from the Khan Enterprises who helped me structure everything."

Her eyes subtly found Ashburn in the crowd.

He looked back at her with a steady, proud smile.

Celebration Dinner

After the ceremony, they drove to a quiet restaurant on the outskirts—one that Kainat particularly loved for its calm ambiance and warm lighting.

They took a corner table. Kainat's father insisted on paying, but Ashburn ended up covering the bill anyway, brushing aside objections with a simple, "Today is her day."

Dinner flowed with soft laughter. Her mother praised the kitchens. Aisha chatted about how volunteers from nearby villages were already asking to set up local micro-branches. Kainat tried to protest the attention, but she couldn't hide the glow in her eyes.

After dessert, they all returned home. Her parents stayed for tea before heading back. Aisha went upstairs to rest, leaving the living room quiet.

Ashburn walked Kainat to the verandah where the night breeze was blowing gently.

A Quiet, Emotional Moment

Kainat leaned against the railing, holding her award shield close to her chest, looking at it with disbelief.

"I never thought something like this would ever happen in my life," she whispered.

"It happened because you made it happen," Ashburn replied softly, stepping beside her. "You didn't ask anyone to praise you. You just wanted to help people."

She turned her face toward him, eyes warm and emotional.

"And you supported me… without hesitation… without conditions."

Ashburn shrugged lightly. "You support me too. Even when I'm buried in work… even when I'm pushing myself too much."

Kainat looked directly into his eyes now. "You're building something huge, Ashburn. Something that will help thousands. I just hope you don't forget to take care of yourself."

He smiled gently. "I won't. Not anymore."

For a moment, silence settled around them—gentle, comfortable. The kind of silence where two people didn't need words to understand each other.

She rested her head lightly against his shoulder.

"I'm proud of you," he murmured.

"And I'm proud of you," she replied.

A Subtle Hint of the Future

Later that night, when Ashburn returned to his room, he placed his phone on the table and leaned back in his chair, staring at the ceiling.

The system evaluation was approaching.

His foundation in the city was solid—

The factory was stable.

The network was expanding.

The charity kitchens were flourishing.

His team was now capable of handling operations.

His influence had reached every part of the nearby region.

He exhaled slowly.

"After this evaluation…" he whispered to himself, "…it might be time to move to the next city."

Not immediately.

Not abruptly.

But soon.

Once everything here was completely self-sustaining, he would need to expand, grow, and push forward—rapidly. It was part of the path he had planned from the beginning.

But tonight… he allowed himself a rare moment of rest.

A moment of peace.

A moment of satisfaction.

Tomorrow, the world would move again.
