Chapter 17 - Chapter 16. Anna and Thickness

The Beast That Had Achieved Its Goal

The abyssal sea fell unnaturally silent.

The colossal beast lay motionless upon the shattered seabed,

its countless tentacles sprawled like fallen mountains.

Its massive eyes were closed,

yet its presence pressed upon the ocean like a divine weight.

Energy surged.

It rose in violent, invisible tides—

layer upon layer—coiling around the beast's

core as it refined its newly devoured

nourishment. El-Mond.

Time passed.

Twenty minutes later—

Its eyes snapped open.

A thunderous ROAR tore

through the ocean depths, distorting water, crushing pressure zones, and shattering

ancient sea boulders into dust.

Enormous tentacles whipped outward in

frenzy, smashing stone, splitting the seabed,

and carving deep scars across the ocean floor.

The beast's body showed no wounds.

Its aura did not weaken.

Its power remained overwhelming.

Yet every roar was filled with agony.

Not physical pain—

—but something far deeper.

It thrashed violently for nearly a full minute,

its movements growing more erratic,

more desperate. Then, one by one,

its raised tentacles crashed down heavily,

losing all strength.

The ocean trembled.

The beast's colossal eyes faded—

their dark brilliance draining away—

until they turned blank white.

Its body went numb.

Still.

Dead.

At the Same Moment — Light-Years Away

Beyond the Planet Yanxi.

A seven-story pavilion stood gracefully

between two peppermint flowering trees,

bathed in moonlight.

The surrounding garden bloomed with

orchids and pink roses, their fragrance

drifting through the air like a gentle spell.

At the very top of the pavilion—

A woman lay upon a dark blue bed.

She possessed long, flowing red hair,

radiant like burning silk.

Her hazel eyes carried warmth—and depth

that hinted at ancient power.

Her face was smooth, warm ivory, flawless

and calm.

A red string dress clung to her curvy figure

as a soft, divine light shimmered across

her body.

Suddenly—

Her eyes opened.

She sat upright.

Her gaze shifted to her right.

On a glass bed stand lay rubble.

At its center rested a shattered glass sphere.

Within it, frozen in broken fragments,

was the image of a colossal octopus head.

Her expression darkened.

The air itself froze.

"WHO DARES."

Her fist clenched.

A terrifying wave of energy exploded outward, sweeping through the pavilion

and the garden beyond like a celestial tsunami.

Flowers bent. Trees screamed. Space itself trembled.

In the next instant

A woman clad in black leggings and a black hooded top appeared within the room,

kneeling immediately.

She brought one fist into her palm,

bowing deeply in respect.

"Master?"

Her voice was steady—but cautious.

The red-haired woman did not look at her.

"What have I told you all?" she replied coldly.

The kneeling woman stiffened.

"I— I mean, Sister. What is wrong?"

Silence followed.

The woman on the bed calmed,

her aura withdrawing like a receding tide.

Her brows knit together as realization struck.

Her lips parted.

"…Oh no."

"Sister!" the woman in black asked urgently,

her green pupils sharp with worry.

"Are you alright?"

The red-haired woman stood.

"Tell everyone to prepare themselves,"

she said, her voice resolute.

"We are going on a trip."

The woman in black vanished instantly.

Left alone, the red-haired woman stepped

toward the pavilion window, gazing into the endless stars beyond.

"…Yanxi," she murmured.

"I hope it's nothing."

The universe remained silent.

For now.
