Is VOTW made by veldenava?
**********
It's been three days since I got my freedom back, three days since that storm of madness finally stopped roaring in my head.
By now, I'm sure most of the big names out there already know about it. I mean, a sealed calamity breaking loose? Yeah, that kind of news travels fast. To them, I'm probably just another potential disaster waiting to happen. A bug, maybe. But a bug born from the shadow of the Storm Dragon isn't exactly harmless.
Speaking of the Storm Dragon… I remember reading somewhere, on a wiki or something, that I got the Storm Crest.
But I don't feel a damn thing. There's no trace of that so-called blessing inside me. Nothing linking my soul to that monster. And weirdly enough, I'm not sure if that's a good thing or a bad thing.
The bad part's obvious without Veldora's blessing, I don't have access to his stuff. No black flames. No storm magic.
But the blessing… is freedom.
No godlike entity watching through me. No Regalia or Raphael tracing me through his soul.
I know it won't stay like that forever. The moment I start gathering followers, that freedom will blur. When I name someone, a bond forms. That's just how this world works.
Still, it's something I'll have to do eventually. Not because I'm power-hungry, but because it's necessary. Every major power in this world has a core group, the Demon Lords have their loyal monsters, the kingdoms have their knights, and even Rimuru had his Tempest Federation (I don't know if he's already present).
If I want to survive, I'll need my own circle too.
Because out here, being alone just means being an easy target.
People like Clayman would jump at the chance to manipulate me, while someone like Rudra or Guy would either try to control me or crush me outright.
Yeah, no thanks.
I've already been used many times (why does it sound weird). That's not happening again.
This time, I've got something better watching my back my system.
Finally, after days of waiting, I can do my first spin. And trust me, I don't waste a second. The moment the option lights up, I go for it.
A card materialises before me, glowing faintly with a crimson hue that pulses like a heartbeat.
Antares (Solo Leveling).
The Monarch of Destruction.
I stare at the name for a few seconds, letting it sink in. If I remember right, he was the final boss of the first part of that story, a dragon, one of the strongest beings in his world. His power wasn't just about physical strength; his attacks could annihilate both body and soul. Revival, resurrection, rebirth, all meaningless against him. Basically, the kind of power that deletes you from existence, counter of Sung Jin-woo powers.
Yeah, lucky spin indeed.
Of course, this isn't his world, and I doubt the laws of power translate perfectly across dimensions. Still, even if he's not at his original level here, he's at least A-rank minimum, maybe even S-rank.
Though, I'm not delusional. He probably couldn't stand up to a fully awakened Demon Lord like Milim or guy. But compared to most monsters out there he's a walking apocalypse.
I stare at the card for a while, weighing my options. Summoning someone like him sounds cool in theory, but… do I really want to take that risk? There's no guarantee a being like Antares would even obey me, system or not. Someone that powerful probably wouldn't appreciate being treated like a servant.
Assimilation feels safer. At least then the power's mine, and I don't have to worry about rebellion or betrayal. But part of me is still curious. If I did summon him, would his abilities adapt to this world? Would he swap energy sources, like from mana to magicules, or would he operate independently of the system's rules altogether?
And that thought takes me down another rabbit hole.
What if the system hands me something non-biological? An AI. A robot. A droid. Ultron. Vision. Something like that. How would this world even classify them? Alive? Constructs? Tools? Would they run on magicules or just… keep using whatever power source they came with?
Honestly, I've always wanted one. Someone like Cortana or 2B. But here, things like souls and willpower actually matter. Would a machine even get a soul here? Would it evolve? Could it?
All of this matters. Not just for me now, but for what I'm trying to build.
Because I'm not just planning to survive.
I'm planning to be king.
King of monsters, the best and most versatile path. But "king of monsters" doesn't have to mean only monsters. With the gacha, I can pull in beings from all over the Omniverse — monsters, humans, demons, gods, even demon lords and heroes.
A grin creeps up on my face before I can stop it.
It's really going to be fun.
Calming myself, I place the template into the Assimilation slot. Let's see how far this takes me.
Almost instantly, I can feel it. My aura starts shifting, growing heavier and deeper.

While Charybdis was undergoing his transformation—a process his future enemies would someday call one of the worst events of their lives (and maybe even the world)—the ripples of it were already spreading across the present.
Some would curse themselves later for missing it.
In a faraway labyrinth, a small pixie hovered over a giant golem, hands on her hips, barking cheerful orders at a cluster of glowing spirits swirling around her.
"C'mon, faster! That Leon guy won't know what hit him when I'm done—". Her grin faltered. For just a moment, her tiny brows furrowed, the playful light in her eyes dimming.
"Huh? What was that? Did I just feel a reaction from… "
The silence lasted all of two seconds before she shrugged. "Meh, probably just my imagination. Anyway! Back to work. I gotta finish this thing fast so I can show that smug Leon who the real boss is!"
The spirits exchanged looks like, yeah, she's definitely insane, but obediently continued.
Meanwhile, not everyone shared her carefree attitude.
Far to the north, in a palace sculpted from eternal ice, a red-haired man was in the middle of a lazy conversation with a platinum-blond figure when he suddenly stopped mid-sentence.
The change in his expression was instant — from relaxed amusement to razor-sharp focus.
The blond raised an eyebrow. "What's wrong now?"
The redhead didn't answer right away. He stared into the distance for a moment before saying quietly, "...I just felt something. Something... similar to me."
The blond frowned. "Don't tell me it's Milim or Ramiris. Are they nearby?" His expression instantly soured at the thought.
"No. Not them," the redhead replied.
"Not them," came the simple reply.
"Oh. Then we're fine." The blond waved dismissively and turned away, already losing interest. "So, what is it then? Some other primordial? Which one of the four?"
The redhead tilted his head, then smirked. "Yes."
Then he said.
"No."
That earned him a glare. Are you trying to irritate me?
The redhead chuckled, resting his chin on his hand. "What? I didn't lie."
The blond man clearly done with this l, stood up and strode toward the door. Two maids one with green hair, the other blue, bowed and opened it for him.
Once he left, the redhead turned toward the window, watching the swirling snow outside. "Misery," he said without turning. "Check the underworld. See if anything's changed."
"Yes, sir," the blue-haired maid replied before vanishing silently.
The redhead's reflection smiled faintly in the frosted glass. "Looks like a storm's coming."
