Chapter 8 - Core and Attributes

I opened the book, and in that, the common Mana Formation method was clearly demonstrated both in words and figures.

They showed clearly what one has to do to form a core. Even a dummy can form a core by following the steps.

On Earth, there were many books with titles that ended with "for dummies". This book can also add that part to its title. It was simple to understand.

I placed the book in front of me, as I sat in Lotus positon and started to do as they described.

---

An Hour later...

I can feel it.

I can feel the Mana. It took an hour, but it doesn't matter anyway. Now, let's form the core before I lose concentration.

---

Another Hour later...

Ah, finally done. I have officially formed my core.

Two hours to form a core, that's not bad at all, especially in my situation. As I said, this is a Common Core Formation method. It was supposed to take longer.

Another factor that determines the core formation time is the Mana Concentration in the area. Rich people would use Mana-rich resources like Mana Crystals or Beast Cores to form their own core, but for me, that wasn't the case.

I had to depend on the Ambient Mana around me. So, forming it in two hours can be considered a record.

Even Lara took around the same time, and our parents hailed her as a genius.

Anyway, now that the core formation is done, let's see what changes occurred in me due to this.

As I formed the core, my current rank is F-, which is where everyone starts. Then comes F and F+. These three are Minor Ranks.

In this world, as I said before, Mana Core rank progression is a way to improve the attributes of any awakened. Since I just formed the Core, I got a +2 boost to every attribute except luck, which cannot be improved.

It stays where it was, forever.

When I improve my ranks, even minor ranks, I gain attributes, but the gains would be very different.

Since I just formed the core, I gained +2 to all attributes, but when I proceed to F rank, the +2 would be limited to one attribute. I am not talking about Mana. That would be different.

For me, the likely attribute would be either Intelligence or Endurance. It won't be the same for every person, but from the Class, the person awakened can clearly estimate which attribute could most likely get the boost.

The issue doesn't end there.

I would get +2 INT/END at F and again +2 INT/END at F+, but when I reach E- rank, which is considered as gaining a Major Rank, all attributes would once again gain attributes, but this time it would be +4 for each.

From this, one can understand what one would get for E and E+.

At D- rank, the gain would be +6.

Yeah, for every major rank, the gain would increase by 2 points higher than the previous gain.

As I said before, attributes can be gained through advancement in rank, but it can be seen as a very slow improvement.

As one can see, at F Rank, one can gain the highest of +6 (2+2+2) in one of the attributes, while the same attribute at E Rank would gain +12 (4+4+4), then at D Rank, that would be +18 (6+6+6).

Before reaching C Rank, one would have a total of less than 50 in their highest attribute. That's too low.

So, we have to work daily. Exercise daily to earn those attributes, but even then, the gain would not be so substantial.

This is just for us, the commoners. The rich have other ways.

Like I said before, potions can improve attributes as well. They would just buy them and improve a lot through a single consumption.

That was like a cheat, but there was nothing one could do, at least morally.

They have that right. Their ancestors invested correctly, and now, as their descendants, they are enjoying those benefits. No need to find fault with that.

Even though there are some people like me who were not getting jealous of the rich, there are many who would. There would always be some kind of bad things people do to gain benefits, especially when the world knew the truth about the Mana Formation method.

Yeah, I would only get +2 at F rank because the method I used was a Common Mana Formation method, but it was said that the Nobles and the rich have better methods, which can improve even higher, as +4 or +6, at F rank itself.

What the Royals have, no one knows the benefits, as it was never leaked, but they won't be Royals if it were anything less. I estimate that it might be even +10.

Having such a great start would be very beneficial.

With such high attributes, they can easily earn money at the start, unlike us. With that money, they can improve their attributes even better. It is a cycle.

Well, no need to be jealous. I have a talent that can provide attributes at the cheapest cost.

As long as I can make use of it properly, I too can rise like a Royal. My entire family can rise like a Royal—no need to worry about that.

I know that once I am gone, such a benefit would be gone, but when we were rich and powerful, high-tier mana formation methods could've been easily obtained.

For now, what I need to worry about is the cooking. To do all that, I need t find the optimum way to utilize my talent.

Let's start with the Basics of Cooking. Mom left me a book that she used to read when she was young and had no idea about cooking.

Hope it helps.
