Lucian's POV
The first rays of dawn broke softly through the tall glass windows, brushing across my bare shoulders with a gentle warmth that seemed to echo the peace in my chest. Beside me, Selene lay still asleep, her head resting lightly on my chest, her dark lashes fanning across her cheeks. The diamond ring I'd given her glimmered faintly under the morning light, a perfect reflection of the promise we made last night.
For a long while, I didn't move. I just watched her breathe. Every rise and fall of her chest was like a lullaby to my restless soul. The world outside might still be uncertain, shadows stirring beneath the surface, but for this brief moment, everything was right.
I brushed a strand of hair from her face, smiling faintly as she sighed softly, turning closer into me. The scent of her skin, moonflowers and morning dew, filled the room. My wolf, Rhydian, stirred contentedly within me.
She's ours now, he murmured, his tone calm for once. Mate. Luna. Heart.
